Being a "Ramadan Muslim" is not a badge of honor like this brother is making it out to seem like... Ramadan is not a time to do good and do bad for the other 11 months. Ramadan should be used as a stepping stone to continue to do it throughout all 12 months, 365 days, for the rest of your life. You can't settle on just being a "Ramadan Muslim" and think that's enough, we should strive to be the best Muslim we can be constantly. This life is a test and a constant battle against our nafs and shaitan deriving us away from the straight path. Just breaking up our Salat is a win for the Shaitan.
I know what he means when he said some Arab brothers don’t greet blacks Muslims, but the thing is, Arabs don’t even greet other Arabs. They only greet Arabs they know. As a Yemeni arab, I get those same stares from Pakistanis, other Arabs, and just Muslims in general. But you have to remember, most of these Arabs (especially older generation Arabs), are coming from war torn countries and are living very stressful lives here working 12 hours everyday. So when you make eye contact with one of them and they seem to be mugging or look mad, trust me it’s nothing personal. They are not mad at you or unpleased by your presence. They just have a mug on them 24/7 due to ptsd, 80 hour work weeks, children being lost to dunya, etc. I get those same exact looks and I’m arab myself. So I would understand why some black brothers would feel that way. But it simply is a misunderstanding because most older Pakistani, Arab, Turkish, or other older Muslims in the west are generally always stressed thus always appearing displeased.
