Is the Hilton at Union Station the Best Place to Stay?

- In this video we try out the second hotel in our Anniversary Hotel Adventure! Mr. Karnes books us a suite at the Hilton, Union Station, in downtown St. Louis. We stay in the "Link" suite named after Theadore Link the designer of the building and tower. It is a very spacious suite at around 1000 square feet. We have stayed at Union Station before but never in this part of the hotel. Our room features a very nice living room, wet bar, table and chairs, king bed and an extra large bathroom. The pictures on the wall are all train themed and the room is very bright with many large windows that overlook the fountains in front of the hotel.
One of the things we love about Union Station is the light show they run in the main lobby. While we were visiting the light show featured music by Queen.
A fairly new thing for Union Station is a remodel of the area outside. It was once a shopping mall. We visited the mall when our children were babies and had our van stolen! LOL Fortunately, nothing like that happened this time. Today, the outside has been remodeled and the Saint Louis Aquarium, The Wheel, a miniature golf course, several restaurants and lots of other fun things to do have been located just steps away from the hotel. We had a wonderful time exploring the area!
We ate at Landry's Seafood while we were there and even though it is a chain restaurant, the food was very good.
After lunch I rode the carousel, while Mr. Karnes watched! I also did the rope course. We went through the hall of mirrors and laughed a lot! And finally we rode The Wheel! The views of St. Louis and the Arch are amazing!
We also ventured to midtown St. Louis and ate at Midtown Sushi. If you like ramen or sushi, you will LOVE this place. The food and service were both excellent! I see now why there was a line out the door! Don't pass up a chance to eat at the counter! It was so much fun and so interesting to watch them make our food!
If you are looking for a fun little get away with unique and interesting things to do, I highly recommend a stay at Union Station and a visit to the Aquarium and surrounding things to do!
