You have no idea how perfect this is!!! I just arrived at my mum and dads, I've decided to stay with them because I'm a stressed out mum expecting another baby, and needed the space. I'm sat in my old bedroom, feeling a bit lonely without my husband who told me to "treat this weekend like a trip away and pretend its a hotel, not your parents" .... and look what appeared in my inbox! :D I'm now lying on my old childhood bed with headphones in, doing just that! Thanks for helping me and my imagination, Emma! :D xxx

This is my favourite ASMR video. I don't know what time of year this was filmed, but it always makes me think of arriving at Dreams Hotel in the winter, in the freezing cold with heavy snow falling outside. I'm sure the reception is warm and cosy inside, with the snow falling thick and fast outside. Thanks Emma x

i don't feel like i'd be mentally prepared to spend 40 mins signing in but with asmr its like i never want to leave to go to my room.
I absolutely love how asmr videos bring back the purity and and comfort of all of our childhoods its heartbreaking that our lives go by so quickly man i miss the late 80s and 90's i know it is said the past is the past but there is so many things i regret and im not sure if i could ever forgive myself

Tell Malcolm thank you. I fell asleep at the front desk before I could get to my room. He wheeled me up to 333 along with my luggage and put me to bed. I'm glad I have both the feather pillow and the foam pillow; since I have 2 beds I can use both. The ear plugs came in handy when I slept in late and housekeeping was vacuuming next door. :)

They're usually pretty nice! It's when you go to rent a vehicle that you have to not only jump through hoops but also perform an entire gymnastics routine in order to get through the process.

I have a valid question. I see that ASMR is fairly new since, "2010" and studies of ASMR are still undergoing. My question is, I listen to ASMR to fall asleep and absolutely think it is a natural relief of many things (Ex. anxiety, sleep.) With that being said, I am now unable to sleep without listening to ASMR. Is it because I am using ASMR, as a natural sleeping aid or is there more to it? Has research shown any data about this?

If I had to guess and without any scholarly articles or research. I can only assume that (for me) it's to drown out the racing in my head, so I am able to sleep? Not sure though
Shannon Marie I too do the same. But at this point I think I've developed a dependency to it. If I'm in a situation where I can't listen to Asmr I still fall asleep. But when the option arises I always take it. I'm not sure why that is.
Shannon Marie I do agree I also have a bit of a dependency on it but I think part of it is your brain reacts to asmr like oh okay, it's time to go to sleep now. And when you try to sleep without it your brain is like ???ok I'm awake?and lying down? what am I supposed to do with this?
It just becomes part of your brain's schedule. I don't think there's much harm in it, although if you're in a situation without internet things might be a bit hard at first.

I have to usually sleep with it on as well, though if I have a headache or am just for some reason feeling restless then I have to have silence or I just get annoyed
Shannon Marie When I first got into ASMR videos I wasn't sure if it would help me sleep because I have tried soo many 'tricks', but it's the only thing that's ever worked for me! I don't get tingles as often because I use it every night and I'm not bothered by that because it still helps me fall asleep.
However, I believe it works for me because it gives my racing brain something else to focus on and I never remember falling asleep the next morning. Would love to see more studies on this, too!
