Can you try the „new“ nilah build?Since the patch it has gotten more popular and it is very strong especially when you get ahead early. It consists of building a dirk and a zeal first, then building the zeal into galeforce, then collector and then ldr and the rest is situational. You hit your power spike at those 3 items and you can oneshot the whole team with one ult combo if you are a bit fed. Would really love you to try it!❤
Just watched a video on Rek’sai that did siege and hulk breaker and had neigh infinite sustain. Would be awesome to see your take. If not the split push, maybe heartsteel tank Rek’sai?
The number of times you cast your DoT while already at two stacks for voidlings. As well as not summoning voidlings and using your Q to stack for more voidlings while at tower. It hurt my brain. How to play split-push Malzahar: Run Press The Attack (cast DoT, auto three times, summon voidlings and cast ultimate), Presence of Mind (Lane mana sustain), Legend:Tenacity (to mitigate being CC'd when ganked during split pushing), and Coup De Grace. Then take Demolish and Unflinching in Resolve to improve turret taking and survivability when ganked. Rush a Static Shiv so early level you can auto once with DoT and clear waves with one cast. You will actually clear waves and maintain 90% or higher mana pool and maintain the rest of your kit to respond to aggression. Then build your Hullbreaker to increase lane pressure and survivability. Followed by Riftmaker, which will add to your survivability and it's passive stacks with Press The Attack amazingly. Then turn tear into Muramana as it should be fully stacked at 360. This gives you a mana item that translates to a lot of damage with both your autoattacks to trigger your rune and your voidling damage. Then finish with a Nashor's Tooth if the game hasn't ended. More attack speed and magic damage to auto's to help with your Press The Attack and damage output between spell casts. With this build, you're only ever using Q to keep your DoT running and/or to silence someone. The damage is negligible compared to your autoattack output. So, you can max Q last and focus on your DoT and Voidlings for lane pushing. Oh, and run teleport/ghost. The name of the game is to split the lane as hard and as fast as you can. With hullbreaker and your suppression ultimate. The enemy team will need several people to kill you. It's fine if you don't have flash to escape. It means your team can take other lanes or objectives. The more important thing is to get into lanes as fast as possible.
I think the best items after the Hullbreaker would be Demonic Embrace, a Warmog and a Banshee's. Demonic Embrace would convert all the extra health into AP while Warmog would be giving you that AP and granting that as long as you don't run out of mana and they don't kill you you can stay and the Banshee is just a second spell shield passive to add a cherry on top. Very tanky, big health, big damage, lot's of burn and double spell shield.
Vlad: heartsteal, demonic, warmogs, rylai's, CD boots, (< any order.) then option of : Spirit Visage, Abyssal Mask, or Gargoyle Stoneplate based on desire vs the team your playing. Abyssal vs hi magic, spirit vs high adc for more/faster heals, or gargoyal vs a balanced team for decent resist to both and a 90% bonus HP shield.
Small tip, your first plating you probably could have gotten two. You had enough mana for Q and W and the cannon minion was tanking the turret. Your voidlings rip towers even at early game

Ok so I see this said a lot in high elo, (you don't need pen if they don't stack mr) I find that statement to be almost always false, because it has been tested extensively by a small TH-cam community including myself, that if the target has around 100 armor/mr (Which in 99% of cases is true due to items or dragon buffs runes etc.) Full magic pen will do not only similar damage, but slightly more damage than a max ap built, that's why ludens void staff is almost always better, if you include horizon (and you have cc abilities) you end up doing a lot more damage than you would expect

Ive been seeing you not doing this for years playing malz... when you push a tower and the tower has agro on a canyon minion, why are you not spamming spells to get your voidlings out to attack the tower? They take plates/towers so fast, you leave so much gold left on the table every video.
Not gonna lie hull breaker is even more broken, was versing a friend in a 1v1 as a xerath had sorc shoes ludens and shadow flame still took 3 Q's and a center W to kill a 20-30% health cannon when the friend wasn't around I would one shot it from 35% with center W

Wish I could stack haste and get like 10 of his summons out at once... just spam them and overrun them! Or a champ that can control minions... have like Q empowers them, w shields or heals them and e could be a mind control where you take over jungle and lane stuff... ult could be a mega baron type buff.
Also, malz should gain a stacking passive that gives health to his minions based on landing silence or spreading your dot to an champ. Maybe just on minion kills with the dot and be like 1 to 3 hp per cs with your dot ... an extra 150 to 400 hp wouldn't be too OP
Seeing malz gameplay still pisses me off after 7 years. The voidlings are just so fucking uselessly fragile now and the continued existence of AD scaling on them after they made it convert to magic damage is just insulting. And even after 7 years, reverting him would be a better place for the champion.

I've also seen a nilah top with hull and jaksho. I don't remember the rest but it worked kinda

Fun build is Statik Malzahar, when you use E at first minion than AA and the whole wave is taken and your E is passed to enemy champion.

noticed how minion is more split up in side lane compared to mid and have higher chance of the E not spreading to caster
You can use your void lings when the tower focuses on the canon
I miss rushing manamune on old malz then going full ap/mana cause the voidlings would scale so hard off manamune XD
E execute only works on the actual damage tick! if you miss the tick you hae to q or auto. its not THAT free ;)
