I feel really, really, really sorry for your generation.
You’ll never know what it’s like to have “happy” EVERYWHERE. A time when happy music dived into the minds, hearts, and souls, of everyone around you. It wasn’t perfect, but it was happier.

Taylor Dayne is a R&B singer thrown into the Pop category. I remember her being on "Showtime at the Apollo". She brought the people to their feet. 👏🏽Apollo will let you know if you're not bringing it. Taylor's vocals are phenomenal live. I can testify. She's still hitting those notes. Just watch " The Mask Singer"

🔥I was obsessed with this song and video for a minute when it first came out. It was a massive hit in Australia too. That VOICE! Not to mention cute dancers who would’ve looked sooo grown up to me back then! Just noticed now that they were doing a little light vogueing in the background right when you said “shout out to this choreography”. Taylor had a few big Aussie hits including the ballad Love Will Lead You Back. Hearing her belt a ballad is an EXPERIENCE.
So funny how you chuckled every time the “I can feel my body rock” line happened 🤪 And it’s interested you’re not into that 80s hyper beat style of production. I definitely didn’t love that sound at the time, it all felt influenced by Stock Aitken and Waterman, the producers behind Kylie and Rick Astley in the late 80s/early 90s. It’s energetic to the point of irritation. But I do love this song just because her vocals DESTROY.
I remember back when this song came out, me drawing pictures of her with coloured textas (markers) as just her hair, green eyes and that big painted mouth! I always thought that hair was kinda cool kinda ridiculous. It’s like she’s one of those hairdressing dummies that the whole beauty school has tried a technique on 😂

Met her at pride fest in Chicago in 2017 (my friend is a big fan) and she was the most awful and rudest celeb I’ve met in person and I’ve encountered a lot. As we approached the meet and greet (seemingly free) we waited in drizzling rain (Taylor was under a canopy) and as we got up to Taylor her manager demanded $40 and Taylor said “hurry the f up with your $ or move out of the way”. My friend felt bad and coughed up the $ and she was still incredibly rude and shoved us out of the way in 2 seconds to collect her next $40. It was borderline pathetic and I will never support this Trolls music again. No wonder she’s doing gigs at mar a lago bc she’s alienated her LGBT fan base. You aren’t Mariah sweetie.

Though I really think she's a great vocalist, I stopped being a fan and lost respect when I found out she performed at Mar-A-Lago, and that goes as well for Teri Nunn of Berlin. You know I wasn't even going to comment on this video until I read your comment. The other "artist" I never liked from the start, Vanilla Ice, was not a surprise that he performed there too.
