- We had our good friend Alex in-store today from Novation. He shows us some of the top features in the Novation 61SL Mk III MIDI Controller Keyboard. It is the centrepiece that can be used to control your whole studio, working perfectly alongside your DAW.

Can it be set to send sysex to control say the Yamaha TX-81z. If not then please consider this functionality Novation! There is a big market for this kind of thing, check CTRL softwares.
I don't think I have seen that option. Email them and request this as a firmware fix. They will never see this comment otherwise and they do respond and consider changes. I got a few features on the Peak I requested, like the two additional LFO's but I doubt I was the only one requesting them.
@@zerix01 You can program all cc messages and NRPN's from the Yamaha TX 81z if there is a midi implementation chart for the TX.
@@SynisTAr1966 I think I completely missed what was being asked. They said sysex so I immediately thought sending patches from the SL MKIII to the Yamaha. For CC messages and all that, yeah that can be configured in the Components template creator.
If I have the Novation SL Mk3 61, would I still need the Novation Launchkey Mk3 61 for anything? Thank you.

@@dershaa6021 Yes but the Launchkey MK3 is the newer product and it does have a couple things that the SL doesn't. It has a chord more where you can play a chord with a single button press (pad or key). As far as I can tell, the SL can't do this (yet?). The Launchkey has a couple new arp modes (Mutate, deviate) that the SL doesn't. The Launchkey will be more portable and convenient for some, it's a fraction of the price, it can still control hardware synths, its navigation keys for Ableton are closer together..... That's all I can think of....

The Arpeggio is Supreme on SL You Fan program it through the sequencer.

Drum sequencing is terrible
The low overtones in this audio is super annoying.
The best overview I have seen of the SL Mk3. Great job - more workflow focussed, less salesy, but therefore ironically a better ad for the product
I'm totally new at this and lost! I bought a Novation launchkey MK3 61 and I'm using Ableton 10 Lite. I downloaded the Standalone features into it thinking that I was supposed too! Now I can't get back to the original settings that came with the controller, when I turn the launchkey MK3 61 on it automatically comes on in the Custom Modes as in the user manual 3.0 Standalone Features. I want to use it the way it in user manual 2.1 Session Mode! How do I change it?

Seriously useful info. I'd sort of been sold on the SL 49 mk III as my sole keyboard/controller for my DAW (Ableton mainly), I think you just sold me on the SL 61.
How many tracks can it control in ableton? Can I scroll through more than 8 tracks and control the corresponding clips through the pads? How many clips per track?
how well does the mk3 integrate with studio one?
