    Great vid as always!
I’ve been working with coloured veneers (rainbowwood) for a few years now and if I may, I could suggest 2 things to prevent cupping:
1 - uneven number of layers
2 - change grain direction between each layer. It will be much stronger and less likely to cup.
Bonus for everyone who wants to do this with regular wood glue. You can, but you have to leave it clamped for a really long time to let the glue dry 100%.

Hey man I love the videos. I am a 15 year old who just got into wood working over the last year because of a shop class in school. I started working at McDonald’s to work and save money for tools and a car. I have a decent little shop set up in my garage now. I also just got your apron for Christmas and I love it. It is so nice to have everything right there. I also just ordered the flush cut saw that I have been wanting for a while. I have been watching your dovetail videos and I am thinking about getting a dovetail saw and jig too. Your products are really high quality and have a great price. It would be cool to hear back from you.

Off topic: I finally got one of the Taylor Tools marking wheels kits (I'm in Australia - had to come by boat). What a really great tip you gave to try one of those. I knocked up a laminate of 1/4" Rosewood, 32nd" of Jacaranda, and 1" very heavy Blue Gum hardwood. Looks great and I built it. The wheels are sharp and comes with two spares! The threaded nut inserts call for a 25/64ths hole, but in hard hard wood that would tear away the brass outer cutting threads. I made a 7/16ths hole with epoxy and that's fine. Thanks. Great tool and looks great too.

Jonathon, I would invest in a vacuum bagger to pull the veneers down to make a proper contact with each other. Your Loss of of your parts may have been an air pocket or lack of resin between the veneers. Bloody good idea, pity I am in New Zealand and no such work has been done to produce the files necessary for my country or parts thereof. Love it!

Kudos for first searching for what colors Topo maps actually use. The white would have added quite a bit, but knowing that you actually looked means a lot to many of us (professionals that deal with this subject). Brooxbreaker said you can use a planer for Kansas. I am working with topography in Iowa and California, so he/she/they are right in that topography differs greatly across the US. Such a cool project - and I would love one of California. I've done Eagle, Raven and Condor work in CA, so am familiar with how topography influences these birds flight. Very cool!

Very nice. Your second one makes it look like the Central Valley is part of San Francisco Bay, which bothers my wife. She feels blue should be reserved for water.
Suggestion: Do some more with sections of California blown up to a larger scale. It would be great to see Yosemite , Crater Lake, Tahoe, or the SF Bay area done with sufficient detail that you could pick out prominent features, such as Half Dome.
