I'd like to see a video regarding differing dice attributes. We know metal does not tumble like plastic, however what about things like liquid core, resin, etc. in how they roll. Metal dice with round edges? Why is it that metal must have sharp edges? I would think that is a con and not want to advertise it in the advert title. Idk.

I've also seen on a YouToube video they some times you need to role 3 8Ds at ones so do I need 3 of them? Artisan Dice is making dice out of human bone now. I actually just bought a 28mm set, much larger than standard dice but not so big that they're unusable. They look a lot like the original D&D dice, just standard math rocks. I like how visible they make rolls, no leaning over the table to see what you got.
I didn't know about the salt water test. I might have to try that sometime. I did roll all my D20s hundreds of times and found there was a definite bias towards some numbers. Unfortunately with most of my dice, it was lower numbers. My game science D20 was definitely the most fair. Despite that it still tries to kill me on a regular basis.

I got a hollow dice set from Amazon. They're from AncientDeer. They are great so far. It also came with a dice bag and dice box (with pads in the box I assume to roll into)
I gotta be the only RPG player that doesn't care about their dice. Just give me a set or two to use as my tools to play the game and I'm good. Now my pencil for notes, that's *very* important 🤣
As an owner of these Tungsten dice. The standard size they come in is definitely PLENTY substantial. The d20 or d12 feels like you could mistake it for a 50mm steel ball of twice the size. I don't know the actual density of tungsten off hand, though
If you want to talk about caltrops... When the Path of Chaos Metal dice kickstarter finally delivers, there will be quite literal caltrops you can roll.
I’ve noticed metal dice roll for a shorter distance which is nice for not losing them, you randomize them in ur hand by shaking anyway. Metal dice also don’t have bubbles as much as plastic ones. That said I love all my dice
I had a nice set of metal dice and kept them in a dice bag: bad idea. The corners would cause dents in the adjacent dice and messed up the paint inset into the numbers. They each needed a separate, padded compartment in a chambered box to keep them nice.
I have a 2 sets of weighted dice for curses from magic items they are good luck and back luck dice that magic items can make you use got them years ago from a dm that was moving that used them in the same way
The solid copper/solid brass are actually zinc with paint most often. Rarely they'll be electroplated and it seems to be advertised when it is, to help with their higher cost.

I saw a shop on Etsy that was selling loaded dice. I saw another shop that was selling D20s that had 20 on every side but one. The one side had the number 1 on it. I messaged the seller to see if they could make a loaded dice that would land on the 1 every time. I thought it would be hilarious if a dice that had 19 20s and a 1 to land on the 1 every single time. Unfortunately they couldn’t do that for me though.
I tried out a set of metla dice. Haxtec Ancient Silver Metal DND Dice Set D&D 7PCS Large Rounded Antiue Iron RPG Dice Red Numbers for Dungeons and Dragons TTRPG Game Gifts. They were very cool to look at but they were heavy and rolled like shit as they would just drop onto the table and barely roll. The heft interfered with the arthritis in my hands so I ultimately wound up returning them. They just were not for me.
I was waiting for wooden dice to be mentioned! I imagine they are quite balanced if cut with enough precision. Do metal ones keep people’s fingers smelling like coins?
The Salt Water test for balance checking is very flawed; 1: the slightest air-bubble can throw off the result. 2: Water simulates a weightless environment, which is not an environment in which we roll. 3: Any minute flaw that the test reveals, is completely negligible because of real-world factors, such as weight of the dice, surface upon which it is rolled, speed of the dice upon initial contact with the rolling surface, and any barriers, be they intentional (dice rolling tray), or unintentional (game book you placed on the table)... seriously, those factors play more into your final result, than the balance of the dice itself.
Platinum dice would be the best dice as it's the most stable element Iridium actually is #1 with Platinum #2 but Iridium is extremely hard to work and 6k and ounce
For a game that is heavily reliant on dice, common sense would suggest that precision and balance are the most critical factors. Laser cut with the numbers printed on instead of etched or drilled in... just like professional backgammon dice. Gravity Dice are your best option for precision and balance.
I choose whichever set is not going to ruin the table with scratches, dents, or skid marks. When you’re invited to a game, it’s incredibly rude to damage the host’s furniture.
