    Excellent video and info.
21st century with 20th century components. Electronic ignition not feasible ?

i find it baffling that people think these poor quality engines are reliable.

Keep 2 fingers on that throttle! Scratch your nose with a sense of caution. When those tach points fail, the governor will go nuts and you don't have long to catch it. You might think (as I did) that this is highly unlikely , but we recently got a rebuilt right mag containing defective points. (Purchased through the major aircraft supplier we all know and love. But due to supply chain issues, not our usual mag OEM). After the incident (in flight overspeed) we found that the point contacts were not correctly peened to the arm and were flopping around. In a subsequent ground run we observed the governor making wild throttle excursions in both directions. They sent us a replacement set of points and guess what; same darn thing! And a third set which they supposedly "hand picked", had the same issue. At which point we said "thanks but no thanks". We waited for TCM points which are visibly better constructed to the naked eye.
Think about recognizing a governor failure and differentiating it from a drive train failure. If you get that governor off quickly, all will be well. Some poor guy in Van Nuys misdiagnosed this as a drive shaft failure and auto'd to the ground, seriously injuring his pax. Someone else landed hard and chopped off their tail.

Hey john, could you send me an email, my email address is capecopters@yahoo.com, ive got some questions I’d like to ask you. We have seen a few mag points that are poorly manufactured as well.. thanks, Paul

An internal combustion engine needs... Air, Fuel, Fire in order to operate... Last time I looked LOL...
