"Seamoth feels so good to operate" there was 1 beta patch where they tried to change it to be more slow, clunky, and overall awful. Huge negative feedback wave about that and they quickly reverted it. The seamoth's controls were and are perfect.
@@Melosyna While I of course greatly prefer the Seamoth like any sane person would, the Seatruck grew on me after a while. It's more maneuverable than the Cyclops which is nice considering BZ has some tighter quarters, like when you go in the ice tunnel to access the land bases. Whack some storage modules on there and a teleporter mod, you can load up on ores then warp back. It's definitely a downgrade in most ways but i also feel it's useful and succeeds in doing something different. Not that change is always a good thing but game developers seem (in my experience) to like changing things up for their own amusement
I’m really hoping they make the void unique in subnautica 2, I want it to be terrifying, maybe a specific void creature and not just three leviathans, something like the silence in U5 with no knowledge of its existence would be so good
@@Jumattos204 Not sure what U5 is either, but there's a subnautica mod in development called Call of the Void which has you exploring precursor tech in new underwater islands in the void. The mod has a new leviathan called the silence which turns invisible and stalks your vehicles, and if you're too noisy in the void it becomes visible and attacks you. Not sure if its the same thing op is referring to, but sounds like a similar concept
You can gain more initial depth by using the Cyclops as a "stage 1" before jumping into the prawn. (Shield, Power Efficiency, Reinforcement and Depth upgrades required) When I tried it in survival I was able to make it to the end of the map with the prawn still intact. Though I was only able to carry enough resources to build a single corridor, if you can catch the prawn or cyclops, you could use them to transport items down there.
Good idea, but without the shield module, the Ghost Leviathans would definitely wreck your Cyclops; though I guess you could get extra depth with it still if you were quick enough. But regardless, it’s a good idea with the shield generator.
yoo nice to see another video! i just started my playthrough a couple weeks ago, and im so close to beating the game. my prawn suit kinda.. clipped into the thermal plant? but i managed to un-clip it by letting it almost clip through then enter. whilst walking to the PCF, my prawn suit got one tapped by the dragon, which was really dissapointing.. had to swim to the facility from the lava castle. im waiting in my underwater island base, getting ready to get the stuff for the enzymes.
You should try this with the cyclops. Assuming it hasn’t been changed since the 2.0 update, it doesn’t actually take pressure damage when you aren’t in it, which gives you an (albeit dangerous) window to go out and repair
The sound of the replicator spitting stuff out is so satisfying Edit: i just noticed the little edits of your avatar based on the situation. It adds a lot charm to the storytelling 6:28 thats what he said 6:52 that too
Hey man I recently got Subnautica because it was on sale on Steam and I did not know anything about it so I came to your videos and they are extremely entertaining and extremely useful. Thanks for all the help. Keep up the good work!
I remember watching TheWaffleGalaxy play this and accidentally fell off into the void in his prawn suit, he kept repairing the prawn suit intermittently until eventually he reached the 8k something meters needed to teleport back. You're able to get out of the prawn suit and then it'll just fall like 30 meters so you can dive down and repair it, meaning you only have to get out to repair and not to swim that last couple-hundred meters
This has to be some sort of insurance fraud. "Yes, operator, my PRAWN was taken out by leviathans and crushed by sea pressure. I need money for a replacement. 'How did I get out?' you ask? uh...teleportation?"
You can reach the bottome in the prawnsuit if you hold the swim down key the entire time falling ive done it lots of times in my hardcore world when im off near the the edge of the map to collect scrap unless that's just a console only thing
@@TheLastBaconI think it does in a way or you can use reinforcements they allow you to go all the way down and still have the prawn suit if you have enough of them equipped
This is such a neat challenge it gives the normal challenge of getting to the bottom of the void harder since it’s in hardcore I have gotten to the bottom of the void and it was torture. You are an amazing subnautica youtuber and I hope everyone agrees with me
That was awesome to see! Would the Hull reinforcement modules help last longer? Never thought of that. So glad I found this as I just got into Subnautica a bit ago and started a hardcore run. LOVING it trying to do everything without dying. Just got my first Void Base set up to watch these majestic creatures.
According to the wiki, the Hull Reinforcement Modules only affect *collision* damage on the Seamoth/Prawn Suit. As per the wiki word for word, “The Prawn Suit does not take collision damage, rendering this upgrade useless for it.” So I don’t believe it would affect the damage received from going past crush depth, though I think a better answer would be found via direct testing. It’s still a good question regardless, hope this helps.
Something ive learned from my own playthroughs. Without the seaglide you can escape a crashfish by doing a double back to where it spawned and if done right escape all damage.
Nice video! Looks like you might have benefitted from some type of void-based vehicle down there 👀 Shame nobody's working on something like that... Oh well!
I kinda wish they actually did just render a floor to the void that went on forever, having it being endless, and worse still just teleporting you back at a certain depth really breaks the immersion that the void is just what the ocean covering the rest of the planet is like which is what the game tries to tell you.
@@TheLastBacon Amnesia is like an OG on yt. Made Lets Plays popular. Plus its a dang good game. Still scary. Love your videos. Just the amnesia ost drew me out of lurking to comment xD
Very cool👍, now do it in the Deathrun mod 2.0 💀.Also i suggest you use the cyclops to gain some extra depth, once it explodes you switch to the prawn suit, and the rest is pretty much the same
Man this game lets you try so many things :D It'd take more resource management, but could you potentially build a fully depth-modded Cyclops with a fully depth-modded Prawn in the bay, pilot that down as deep as possible, then just before the Cyclops is destroyed, jump in the Prawn? The Prawn shouldn't have taken damage while in the bay, so you could get much deeper with it.
that was hella cool but i do think there was a better way tho it would take longer since cyclops death is also 1700m (obviously) you could get the prawn on board of cyclops and until it breaks go down. For the ghosts use the shield that cyclops can be equiped with and also use ion power cells.
The Hull Reinforcement is an upgrade module that can be crafted in the Vehicle Upgrade Console. It is available in Subnautica only, not in Below Zero. This upgrade provides the Seamoth and the Prawn Suit with a system that preemptively hardens the vehicle chassis prior to collisions with terrain, eliminating damage under normal conditions. The Prawn Suit does not take collision damage, rendering this upgrade useless for it.
I've done this before accidently fell into the void dodging a reaper in the dunes. Lucky had my repair tool with me. I fell so far and so deep ghosts couldn't catch up to me. It turned into get low on hull integrity hop out and repair the prawn suit, I didnt realise this but the prawn only falls so far when you hop out, so long as you don't touch it it'll stay floating and you can repair it untill you fall to the teloport depth. I found out about the floating prawn by making it in a deep zone and dropping it to the bottom but as I swam down it just kinda floated there. Try it your self if you like.
i normally dont comment, but with your videos and the fact that you reply to every comment i comment on almost every comment because it feels like someone is actually looking at them
I’ve done this a bit easier but writes off a pile of equipment. Cyclops with all the depth upgrades. Drive outside of the void biome and dive dive dive dive until then cyclops is about to collapse on itself. As it’s about to implode, eject in your prawn suit with all the depth upgrades. Your speed of decent will be so fast no ghostie will be able to catch you. And assuming the game memory can’t catch up, I’ve dropped through the safe shallows at the same speed before it loaded, down to the active lava zone and back outside the playable area where I think your prawn suit at that decent speed can only endure one more crush depth run. But by that time, the world loads and you will finally stop in the shallows with no more cyclops or prawn suit
Theres a way of making the ghost leviathans stop spawning. Once you reach the bottom of the physical map, you can go under it and basically go "out of the void" and be considered to be in a different biome. Then you can just keep going down and only worry about crush depths. I used this to take the cyclops down to the teleport point of 8143m
I was expecting a Cyclops. A lot more time to make it, but you can probably get through the whole thing without leaving your vehicle. Maxed out Cyclops with the shield can last a long time under its crush depth, then jump into a Prawn and you'll probably have enough durability to make it to the bottom.
Next up, VR hardcore xd. Its pretty terrifying since just like when you see the playermodel next to the creatures you realize just how big everything is. Sadly its easy to get motion sick from if you're susceptible to that cause isn't exactly the best VR port
I had a similar thought when I was wrapping my hardcore playthrough, but instead of breaking the prawn suit I wanted to make it out with my vehicle, so I planned to craft a lot of ion power cells for cyclops and just descend while the shield module is active and chews through power however, I once dared to use the repulsion cannon near the cyclops and my wall-mounted closets full of power cells flew away and despawned, so I never executed this plan lol
