  • Watch Paralympic champion and Great Britain Cycling Team member Steve Bate MBE answer YOUR questions from exploration rides on his fat bike to reacting to Tokyo 2020 being postponed to 2021.
Steve Bate was diagnosed with Retinitis Pigmentosa in late 2011 and officially registered blind. A keen climber it had always been Steve’s dream to solo climb El Capitan in Yosemite, California and in 2013 he made that dream happen, and in doing so became the first visually impaired person to complete the climb.
After being accepted onto the Great Britain Cycling Team Paralympic Podium Programme in December 2014, Steve announced himself to the sporting world at the Paralympic Games in Rio 2016 winning two gold medals and a bronze alongside his pilot Adam Duggleby.
Steve now has his sights set on the reschedule Tokyo 2021 Olympics.
