  • After the establishment of the Dachau concentrationcamp in 1933 the Germans constructed several camps throughout Europe like Mauthausen, Neuengamme and many more.
And in 1937 the Buchenwald concentration camp was established which was liberated by the US 6th armored division in April of 1945. But by that time the death rate had reached an astonishing 56.000 people.
And after the war the russians reused Buchenwald as their own Stalag were also several thousands of people died due to the harsh living conditions.

An outstanding video of a Concentration camp other the Dachau and other major camps. I have not seen a video of this camp and was eye opening. The zoo was especially creepy. Keep up the great work.

"I see the world being slowly transformed into a wilderness; I hear the approaching thunder that, one day, will destroy us too. I feel the suffering of millions. And yet, when I look up at the sky, I somehow feel that everything will change for the better, that this cruelty too shall end, that peace and tranquility will return once more." -- Anne Frank

If i am right, Buchenwald inmates were also used in fabrication V2 rockets. Well done video. Travelling and teaching history as it was in a neutral way. I respect that and worship the time yout put in your work and of course your work itself for that reason and thats why i gave you informations for rather not much known historiacl sites in the english speaking world, like Hadamar, i assume. I also respect, you told, the camp was used as a POW Camp by the Soviets after the war, which isnt every time told when ralking about Buchenwald camp. You doesnt show any signs of illness like the asian flew you faced, if i understand your fb recent post.

Thank you for making this video. Very informative and seeing it now through your camera lens brings it much more into focus. It's doubtful I will ever make it there to see it for myself in person so I appreciate you allowing me to see it this way.
