I'm getting "Among Trees" flashbacks (love that game despite how it was abandoned and the actions are repetitive, I like the routine of waking up, eating, going out for materials and food, watering my greenhouse, eating, going to sleep, rinse and repeat)
I also like just going to the lake to fish and listen to the ambiance with the music, it's really soothing to me and if anyone still plays it, try it out, you'll feel really calm and relaxed, I promise you
Looks like Among Trees that was abandoned shortly after Steam launch.
"Among Trees"? Looks like that, but different game mechanics, and there was no free building there. I didn't play it long time, but even sounds are reminding me on Among Trees too.

The bottoms of cattails are edible!, and the tops make good fire starters, if survival game creators were smart they would talk to Les Stroud and get some pointers.
Les Stroud was actually working with some developers to make a VR survival game. The devs said that it will _maybe_ have a non-VR version too, later down the line.
Also, you can indeed harvest cattails for food and as firestarts in The Long Dark.
I like it. This type of art style can be a refreshing change. I hope the Devs keep working on it 👍🏻👍🏻 great showcase.

I would have thought this was Among Trees if I didn't see the title. This is the first game that needed nails for a campfire.
The developer should give the ability to harvest cat tails tubers for carbohydrates and add fish, grasshoppers and game to catch/hunt for protein.
Good game for a child to start off his adventures.

And why are the smoke stacks from the furnace and the campfire going in opposite directions?
Lily-of-the-valley are poisonous? First time I hear about it, and we have a whole bunch of them growing in our yard (used to have many more, but with all the terraforming and constructions, many were lost). Still, never had any poisoned cats or dogs in the yard, and we've had many over the years.
I hope this doesnt het abandoned like Among Trees was. Nice cozy game

I got the feeling that it's gonna hurt my eyes because of light and color, take risk of rain 2 as an example.

Even if the first day or two... Not seeing any animals is no big deal... But by the third the animals should be semi used to MAN being in their forest.

I'm getting SO tired of the "survival game" mechanic. PLEASE developers, can we come up with an alternative to sticks, rocks, fibers, stone axe, bow, cut trees collect stones and sticks build stuff. These games look amazing but ultimately it's all just re-skins of a million games before it.
Those things are the basic stages to survival though? Im not understanding what you mean! Lol like if you get dropped into a desolate area with no technology and only nature what else is going to be accessible to use? Like....thats how survival works! Im confused by your frustration
I agree. There are way too many similar games. Devs should come up with newer ideas. Like subnautica, raft, that space survival game (I guess there are a couple of them now), mars survival etc. Like take the idea of survival and apply it to something different. Make some venus survival, or take some ideas from hitchhiker s guide to galaxy. Maybe something like north Korea survival. Just throwing ideas. Looking forward fot some whacky quirky survival crafters.

looks alright but whats the point? why build/survive if theres no story or reason. nothing to fight or attack you? no quests or things to actually do. i think alot of survival games completely sabotage there own games by forgetting "whats the point of the game"? if theres no goal or enemy or quests/story to complete what is the point of doing the survival or building.
It's just a demo to try out the mechanics.
There will probably be a story in the full release.
Yea. This demo was released to early. With no life or purpose to the game, I'm not interested. They color pallette is really nice though.
