The Concerto for Flute and Wind Ensemble by Dutch composer Henk Badings is a tour de force for ensemble and soloist alike. Badings employs a wide variety of timbres and textures and makes particularly intriguing use of changing, asymmetrical meters, achieving an unsettled, yet driving pulse. Soloist Tanya Dusevic was a 17-year old first-year student at the University of Calgary at the time of this recording.
