  • Every Street Sweeper Operator gets aggravated when they see residents raking leaves out into the street. The leaves left in the street can clog up storm drains and cause flooding.
Many residents will rake leaves into the street when they know the City Street Sweeper is coming, not this time! :-)

Yep, it’s literally a leaf blower on steroids, 20,000 CFM is basically enough to replace the work of a small army of those tiny backpack leaf blower

The innovative design of the Elgin Road Wizard features a powerful, 80-horsepower, John Deere sweeper engine, automatic adjusting, free-floating, main and side brooms that adjust to varying surfaces, and a large capacity hopper and water tank for extended operation. Unique features include a simplified dual-engine design for increased operator efficiency and productivity, along with the latest technology for superior results. The Road Wizard is built for the most demanding jobs but designed to be the least demanding to operate.
On the other hand, the Elgin Crosswind J+ Regenerative Air Sweeper combines superior performance, with a low maintenance simplified design, the extra wide sweep path of 12 ft is suited for municipalities, contractors, airport applications, and general maintenance sweeping. Mounted on the short wheelbase of either a conventional or cabover chassis, the Crosswind is operated by simple rocker switches and comes with a complete set of gauges. A combination of a large hopper and water tank, plus excellent fuel efficiency, delivers a long work period between trips for dumping, re-watering, and refuelling. The sweeper also features a powerful 115-horsepower, auxiliary engine. Optional equipment includes a hydraulic wandering hose, additional water capacity, and alternative fuel engines.

Yep, don’t plug the storm drains or one of these incredibly powerful beasts, which is literally a glorified leaf blower on steroids, will literally hunt you down and blow your own leaves right back into your face

That father and his two daughters are basically criminals. Because, if it wasn't for Jeff Miles (the mechanical sweeper driver), those leaves would've been left in the street, which would later bring downpours into the drain, clogging them, and, yep, cause flooding.
Once the floodwaters spread, they can threaten lives, inundate properties and businesses, destroy belongings, damage vital infrastructure and prevent access to essential public services. Often the effects of floods are long-term and can be very costly, disruptive and distressing for the communities involved. The most immediate threat of floods is to people who are caught on foot or travelling in vehicles in affected areas. People are at risk of sustaining serious or fatal injuries from floodwater, especially swift-moving water, and it is important never to enter flood waters on foot or attempt to drive on flooded roads.
