- In today’s video, Gabi does a walk around of the popular 2023 Kia Soul Ex Premium. As one of Kia’s most distinct models, she highlights to refreshed exterior, interior, and tech/safety features!
I have a 2014 Soul+ and live in Yuma, AZ. Summer temp. have reached 122 degrees) Never have I had any over heating problems. My Soul has had 3 cross country trips to New Jersey and back, each trip averaged 7000 miles plus, and the car has performed great each trip. It now has 80,000 miles without out any trouble. It has had the brake pads re placed at 75,000 miles, one set of tires and three batteries thats it. . A great car!
Nov. 26th, 2023: I hadn't given this 'refrigerator' on wheels a second thought. This past July and again in August, out of necessity, I rented one ... Day after day, I smiled inside. Inside felt great. The seats were great. Held me like I wanted to be held, (apologies to my wife). I would not have thought 147 HP would come close to satisfying me, but when I called on it, again, I smiled inside .. thinking, 'Not bad'... I favor 'manual', but learned that was discontinued in '22. Same for the Turbo. (too bad). So, I searched for a used Turbo, and found one, 'Carmax is great'. A 2021 model, with 7858 miles on it. Drove to Fla. to pick it up. Drove back to Long Island in some of the heaviest rain in my memory. Car was perfect, and I swear I heard it 'purring'. Some of the legs of that drive, exceeded 33MPG, and that was at a steady 80-85 mph. Day after day, its design, function, and comfort grew on me. This car is a secret gift. Own one, and see ...
On our 2nd Kia Soul, really like this model, good price point, and great gas mileage Plus, I can put a ton of band gear in it too! First one we bought was a 2016 got it used in 2018, and drove it until we bought a new 2022 Soul in October of 2021. Might be trading this one in next year for a new one on lease this time! Gabi, you rock girl! Always present a great video!
i purchased one of these, enjoying it so far, EX premium is 2nd from the top trim, IMO should have power seats and keyless entry on the back passenger and driver side doors

Thank you very much for another intertesting presentation of a KIA. I am driving the KIA Soul EV (2016) and I am very happy having spent so much time with and in this car. But KIA has made such an improvement in their cars in the last couple of years. I am looking forward recieving my KIA Niro EV in 2023 - and of course I am looking forward for all the models that will be comming in future. And I am looking forward to the clips you will present in the future time - I simply love the way you present all of the cars. Keep going your way - you are amazing.

Our 2020 Kia Soul GT Line is closing in on 60,000 miles. So far it has had 12 oil and filter changes along with 6 air and cabin filters and one battery, that's it.
A very good review but I have noticed that nobody shows the low-end version of the Soul

If there is a higher trim level for this Soul I would want power front seats, all leather seats, AWD, and air/heat vents in the back. So that's my wish list. :)
Agreed, power front seats are important, for the 3 times you change it a year.
A button to close the trunk would be nice 👍
I was told mine is an EX but I have power seats. I just picked it up Sunday after ordering it November 15th . I haven't had much time to explore

Hi Gabi, could you confirm the towing capacity and also if the hitch is available from Hyundai?
For the Soul, Kia sells an accessory hitch (for bike rack's etc). Canada did not give the Soul a tow rating.

You don't want that 6 speed, trust me. The gearbox is a nightmare. I had a 2021 Soul LX manual, I ended up selling it to Carvana with 7k miles and they gave me what I paid for it so I didn't lose much aside from a few car payments. I have a 2023 now in Mars Orange, same color she's showing. The CVT is the way to go on this car, inasmuch as I don't like CVTs to begin with. You can probably go to Carvana and find tons of LX manuals for cheap by now but again if you want a real manual go for a Honda or Mazda or Subaru manual, they know how to make a manual transmission.
I just sold my 17 Soul base manual to automation for 9K. Hated to do it but the Grandbabies moved to the mountains...

The automatic braking can also stop you from running into cars driving at high speeds! Dont ask how I know. I just own one 😅😊
I think horizontal tail lights a sort of dodge charger style would look great on this and give it a nice upscale mature look.

I had a 2020 soul which the motor in the 2020 through 2022 model is awful and burns oil. The Kia dealership let me trade in my 2020 for the 2023 because it would take over 16 months for Kia to get the new motor for the 2020 soul I had. The 2023 has a ton more power and the Led gauges are great. The 2023 just has a ton of options that my 2020 didn't plus the 2023 just rides and drives so much better. I'm very happy with my 2023 Soul
Any idea if the 2023 Soul motor still burns oil like the 2020-2022????

Same here. Does she come with the car?? If so I got cheated!! 🤣 My 2023 Soul just came with floor mats. And funny how she calls it "Lunar Orange," here in the states it's "Mars Orange" which makes more sense than lunar. Kia never ceases to amaze me on how they purposefully make the trims and options completely different in Canada for no reason.

So disappointed you still have to use a usb cable for Android auto or carplay. This has been outdated for years. More important than having the goofy party lights
On my 2023 you don't have to use the USB cable anymore.
I wouldn't have one they need to honor the Kia soul that loses oil an no leaks I was a big fan but would ñever have another
I love the Soul but am scared of the problems Kia and Hyundai are having with defective engines
Fair comment - they did update the engine and our dealership haven't seen issues since.

Only people that want electric cars are the ones that don't understand what a car is supposed to do and have no idea what they're getting into. Maybe an old lady that drives to bingo every Sunday and back home again. Or a millennial that likes to visit Starbucks everyday and pay $6 for coffee while the thing charges for an hour. Regular people don't have time for that nonsense. If I need to drive out of state I don't want it to take a week instead of 2 days. If you need a car to put around in once in a while for getting groceries I suppose an EV is a good choice. If you're the kind of person that puts 20k miles a year on your car then no, it's not a good choice. Once they can get a full charge down to the same time it takes to fill up a gas tank then I'll take a look at an EV in a serious way and maybe even buy one.
@@opinionsvary Funny you say that, I just bought a 2023 Soul LX. And as I was waiting at a stop sign the other day, I saw another 2023, I had to wait for it to go by so I could make my left turn. As it went by, I noticed a big center chunk of the rear bumper was missing, cut out it seems, and realized it was converted for handicap usage.

Did Kia ever pay back any of the 2016 car owners all the money they spent fixing their defective windows? I hope you don't think this is ever going to get buried. We're just getting started.
What market are you in, and what was the issue? No issues with windows in Ontario, Canada.
I have a red 2024 Soul which is much like the car in this video. The problem is the poor quality of the car. Specifically, the pain is very bad. I saw two chips on mine near the hood when it was new at the dealer. I had to use touch up paint to fix them. It’s just not a quality vehicle. I only plan on driving mine for a few months. Other than the good fuel economy, it has been a disappointment to me.

I have a Kia soul 2020. My cat was stolen and my steering wheel was damaged. I hate my kid soul right now. I will never buy a Kia soul again.
Too much technology. Just a basic model is fine.
Over 3000 Kia’s have been stolen this year. State Farm and Progressive insurance will no longer insure these cars. Please do not buy a Kia. Mine was stolen and it has been 2 weeks and they still don’t have thr parts!
In Canada, we have a fuel shutoff standard as of 2007....whereas it's not a requirement in the US. If they try and use the USB to start the car, it will just shutoff in a second. Not an issue here.
