you know Michelle, I just got home from uni after having a massive panic attack and I just made myself a cup of tea and a bowl of noodle soup and wanted something comforting to ease my mind. your video came perfectly timed. thank you!
oh my goodness, I’m so sorry ❤️🩹 been having quite a bit of anxious feelings myself here lately, you’re not alone. I’m glad you find comfort in these videos, it feels the same to share them!
@@michellereedg I'm sorry too, I can only imagine how many things are to be anxious about once you become a mum. From what we are seeing, you are doing absolutely amazingly!! Don't be afraid to seek out help for your anxious thoughts if it gets overwhelming. I've been seeing an amazing therapist, can't tell you how much he's changed my life to the better. ❤🩹
I don’t know what it is about ducks, but they always have a calming effect on me and my children. God has all these beautiful ways of helping us feel good.
I love the scripture verse at the end of all of your videos. It keeps my mind in the right place even when I'm consuming social media content. I absolutely LOVE your channel and your peaceful, elegant demeanor. Thank you for working so hard to get these videos up for us in the midst of everything else that needs your attention. 😊❤
I have fond memories of going to the library with my boys when they were younger. The teacher would read a couple of stories, and she was so good and patient with the kids. Then we'd get to do a craft with our child. I also loved checking out books for them then. I did get to meet other moms that way too. Sometimes some of us would head to the park after the library and hang out there to talk while are kids played. My boys are 15, 12, and 9 now. ❤😀
For the fruit flys, you can do apple cider vinegar in a jar, and squeeze in some dish soap! Cover it with plastic wrap and make a couple holes in the wrap but it works so well lol sometimes we have that problem as well
I have a solution for your fruit flies: put some vinegar (I used a mix if apple cider and red wine vinegar) into a bowl or mug and add one or two drops of dish soap. The soap breaks the surface tension and the flies drown when they land to drink the vinegar. I had a fruit fly problem and I cured it doing this.
Works perfect, also wanted to recommend it. Also check your coffee machine, if there is a lot of coffee ground in the part where you collect the coffee pods it can attract fruit flies too
I find your videos so soothing and peaceful and calming. Your videos make me feel at peace and they allow me to jump into your world for a little bit and enjoy those things with you. I also love getting ideas from your videos they have really helped me over time to create a joyful, calm, and decluttered home. I can’t say enough great things about your videos and all the things I enjoy about them. I hope you stick around longer and know that your videos make a difference even with your cute little kiddo in them🥰😊
Hi Michelle! I’ve been following you since your New York college days. It’s been so fun to watch you in different seasons in your life and grow up with you per say. I’ve been using the Zevo fruit fly trap! You can get the starter kit and it comes with the plug in base and refills! We keep ours next to the kitchen trash can and it works wonders. I love that it’s just a sticky trap and no chemicals! I will say the blue light is pretty bright, so I wouldn’t put it in a bedroom!
We had an issue with drain flies last summer. Vinegar and baking soda down the drains, let it sit overnight and then rinse in the morning. After 3 times they were gone!
Michelle!!! Sending love from Chicago💕 For the fruit fly’s here’s a few things you can try - we have such an issue in the summer because of fresh fruits/herbs. 1. Check your kitchen disposal and run some vinegar down the drain every single morning+night. You can also add lemon juice for a nicer scent. If you notice the problem is getting worse, do the same vinegar trick all around the house with every sink: sometimes the flys can travel! (and that gets annoying) 2. ZEVO is one of the best bug catchers we’ve tried this summer so far. It’s a plug in and doesn’t use any toxic chemicals, just a natural blue light that catches their attention. It will also trap every kind of bug chilling in the house too. Have a fantastic weekend💕
Good morning Michelle!! I am so inspired by your videos and I love how your videos are so calming and beautiful. I love seeing your day to day with Connor. You are such an amazing mom to him and you are the best for him. You are so inspiring and comforting. Ilysm and I hope you’re having an amazing day 💕
Love these style vlogs, feels like I’m hanging out with you!! Connor is so precious, the clothes you got for him are so cute! I definitely need to check out to see if I have any stores similar nearby me when our baby boy gets here!
I totally relate with your frustration with fruit flies! I have found that mixing apple cider vinegar with a few drops of dish soap in a small dish has helped get rid of them. I left these dishes at different areas of my house to try and pinpoint where they were coming from and I think they were attracted to the water I left in my electric kettle!
Love your videos! I’m in the phase of exclusively contact napping (he struggles to sleep well during the day even when he’s on me so I’ve given up on setting him down and disrupting his naps) and it’s hard watching other content where they have so much alone time. My baby is always with me so it’s nice to see similar content!
For the fruit fly problem, they make plug-in traps with a blue light. They are similar to sticky traps, but less yucky because you cant see the strips where the bugs go, except for when you throw them away. I use one by the brand Zevo and I keep it plugged in right by my herbs & fruit basket. 😊
Good morning, Michelle! Your videos always make my day! THANK YOU! A couple of things: fruit flies - def treat your drains, but also use the water, drop of dish soap, sugar & vinegar bowl recipe. Also, I’m not sure how the libraries in TX are, but here in OR, they have become more of a community center/meeting place. After working in a library, I can assure you that we LOVE when moms & kids come in…the sweet sound of babies is the best! ❤ Most libraries have designated study rooms for those who want the quiet we grew up with. Hope you’re able to relax and enjoy your time there! Praying blessings over you & your beautiful fam! 😊
you should look if around where you live they have momco its a group that meets twice a month during the school year and its christian and sometimes they meet at a church and its so much fun. the group is worldwide and its really good.
for teething!!! the hylands teething tablets have been LIFE CHANGING for my lil boy - he was struggling so bad (waking every 2 hours) in pain & now he’s sleeping soooooo much better 10/10 recommend
Oh my goodness, I can't tell you how much of a blessing it is, to have other Christian Mama's around you, throughout your child's life! I only have two young ones myself (both of which are under two years old) but it has truly helped me grow as a person in more ways than I can say! I do understand how difficult and scary it can be to jump into a new group of people and it was hard for me to at first, but it does get easier along the way. I don't think you need a giant group of friends and like you said, it's great to have friends in other seasons of life than yours. But once you find those few godly families to encourage you throughout your parenthood journey, you won't ever look back!💛
We feel the same about date nights, eating out doesn't really feel like a date anymore because we feel like a) we don't mind taking our kids out to eat with us and b) we like eating at home more these days. Some date night ideas we have really been loving are going to the movies, riding lime scooters around our city, trivia nights and drinks at a local pub/brewery, double dates, playing pickleball, & ice cream/fro-yo. We do a lot more date nights at home instead of out but when we do go out, we love it! We also like going to our local board game store because they will let you try any board game for free and then sometimes we will buy it and bring it home with us. Also, sometimes, your local library will rent out board games to try! We have had a lot of luck with that too! Some of our favorite games we tried first at the library and then purchased later!
Hey Michelle! Love the video! For the fruit flies this hot Dallas summer, I’ve been using the Zevo flying insect trap plug-in. It’s great and non-toxic. I’ve also been using garbage disposal cleaning tablets twice a week. It’s hasn’t gotten rid of them completely, especially since I have my sourdough starter sitting out, but it has minimized them significantly. 💕
i found that a lot of times when living in older apartments and had little bugs that they weren’t fruit flies a lot of the time, but drain flies! super easy fix is to pour boiling water down all the drains in the house (don’t forget bathroom sinks and showers) and it helps so much!!
For teething, especially during summer outings I used ice inside of a silicone teether for my daughter. She loved it, kept her cool and hydrated and way less mess than fruit or milk!
Does your library off baby Storytime? Our daughter loved going weekly and meeting moms was easier in that setting! It’s fun to see “what’s to come” and “how far you’ve come” in terms of milestones!
Ugh you’re so cute and I mean that in the best “sister vibe / growing up with you” kinda way! Been watching you since basically the beginning. And the commentary about the overalls pockets “clip ? no worries. lip gloss? No worries “ it’s just so heartwarming to see that you’re still so much like your younger self in the best way. It’s such a privilege to watch you grow and mature as a person! Amazing really. So glad to be on this life journey with you! Hopefully this comment makes sense. Xo, Paige
For a natural fruit fly trap, combine dish soap, apple cider vinegar, and water in a glass, put plastic wrap over the top, secure with a rubber band, and poke a couple holes in the top with a toothpick. The flies will be attracted to the apple cider vinegar, crawl in through the hole, and get stuck in there. Hope that helps!
Cinnamon is the cure for fruit flies! Forgot to say I really like your content - I just started following you when I was looking for pregnancy content but found your videos to be calming and inspiring at the same time. Now with my little one doing a contact nap it's a little happy moment every time ❤
Hey Michelle, God bless you. I have been in the same boat recently. I was having a conversation with my husband about not having a lot of mom friends. My daughter is 7months old and to like to meet someone who has a baby near her age to have her socialize is hard for me. Especially most our families live very far away. I mostly stay in and trying to find a way to have outside time with her.
Love your videos so much! Always puts my mind at ease. I put apple cider vinegar out in a little bowl to catch fruit flies or you can put bleach down the disposal. Those two things have worked for me!
I had the same experience with jury duty! Never got called when it would have been interesting and easier to do when I was working before motherhood. Then I got a summons when I was a nursing mom. Got a doctor's note--then got put in this endless cycle of getting a new summons whenever I was a nursing mom with the next child! Fruit flies tip: put a bit of ripe fruit in a jar and cover with plastic wrap with a rubber band around it. Make holes with a pin in the plastic wrap so the flies can get in but not out.
We started swim lessons with our son when he was 6 months and I could not recommend it more! It’s so fun to see them figure out the water and most of the time I let my husband get in the pool with him so they have more bonding time together since I’m with him like all day. Would highly encourage! You’re doing great mama.
I always enjoy your videos so much 🥰 being a young mom too I relate so much to a lot of what you say! Where is your bandana style tie top from? So cute!
For the fruit flies, try putting a little bit of wine in a glass, cover the top with Saran Wrap and poke some holes in the top! Flies will go in but then can’t get back out. It’s natural and baby/dog safe!
I also like watching people who live a different life than me, that's why I watch you and Lauren Giraldo lol. I'm a working mom, but I don't know any working outside-of-the-home mom vloggers.
Raid now makes a blue light that looks like a night light that has a sticky trap attached to it. They are attracted to the light and get stuck to the sticky trap. Works amazingly!
If fruit flies are coming from the garbage disposal then they are likely laying their eggs down there. That is an ideal environment for them to lay eggs. Once a week boil a pot of water or use a tea kettle and pour boiling hot water down your drains to eliminate any eggs so they don’t hatch. Also I love the Zevo plug in light up traps for adult gnats and flies. Easy to change out, you never have to touch the sticky part!
Also fruit flies, the best solution we’ve found: a small bowl (like half a cup size) with dish soap at the bottom, a sprinkle of sugar and then pour to fill half the bowl with apple cider vinegar. We get like 40 caught in there a week!
Cinnamon sticks works wonders just placed them in your fruit bowl and bye fruit flies, if the sink then hot water with baking soda and a citrus scent will also works wonders
I love your videos so much! I recently discovered your channel & I’m so glad I did! I’m 25 & have a 19 month old baby boy & I just love finding other young moms who I relate to so so much! Thank you for putting your life out there in such a beautiful & inspiring way. & if you ever want a new long distance mom friend let me know haha!
For fruit flies, I use the cider vinegar hack. You pour some in a bowl, putting cling film/seran wrap over the top and poke a few small holes. I’m in the UK but the hot weather (when we do get any 😂) always brings them and they’re always attracted to my cats food so could it be Cash’s food? Just an idea x
For teething you can give him a wooden spoon to chew on! This advice was given to me and my daughter loved it. Also I promise there will be moms at story time that are by themselves and not with friends! For dates my husband and I enjoy finding a quiet/chill brewery so we can enjoy a drink and actually talk. Now with two kids we get over stimulated easily at loud or busy places so the laid back atmosphere is nice!
Swim instructor here. Lifelong- kids who take a lesson per year have an overwhelming chance of not drowning. I think off my cap 88% less drown per year (American Red Cross stat) but swim lessons are so important start them early and keep them swimming. Love the videos!
Hi Michelle! Love your videos! ❤ The fruit flies might actually be fungus gnats. Check your houseplants for signs of tiny insects. Change the soil and or treat it with insecticides. Also place sticky gnat traps by your plants.
Hi, Michelle... : ). If you put white vinegar down your kitchen drain, let it sit a bit, then run hot water, that should do the trick! And, if situation gets worse, white vinegar + baking soda + boiling water.
Omgosh the zevo plug ins are great for those nasty fruit flies! It looks like a night light that uses blue light with sticky tape inserted in the back so it is hidden and it works so well and mess free. I have one plugged into one of our kitchen outlets above the sink (that's where they like to be the most) and just change out the sticky part once it is filled with bugs (you don't have to touch the sticky part, it has a tab you hold to pull up and throw it out)
For the fruit flies: put all fruit in a Tupperware or in the fridge sealed away, boil some water and pour it down all your drains in the house, run the disposal and pour boiling water down it. Clean inside trash cans with bleach dilution, including diaper pails and don't leave dog food out after Cash has eaten. Sicky traps help a ton, despite looking gross. The flies will get into all the places mentioned above if your infestation has gotten past just 1 or 2 fruit flies which is why the drastic deep cleaning can be necessary.
Zevo has "worry-free insect sprays & traps". Have you seen their ads? "People friendly; bug deadly". Haha. They came to mind when you mentioned the fruit flies and again when you mentioned the mosquitoes. Guess their advertising works ;)
Personally I have found more success starting with purees and slowly working into baby led weaning as they get older. So if you don’t want to do baby led weaning or just don’t yet, it’s ok! Whatever is easiest for you!!❤️
Michelle, my baby just got his first two teeth and he LOVES teething sticks! They’re little straw looking things with different textures on each end. Highly recommend! Also, did you do anything different to get Conner only waking up once in the night? I’m hoping the change will happen in his timing but I cannot wait to get better sleep 😭
oooh will so have to check them out! & honestly no, and it’s not every night. sometimes he’s up 3x! we recently dropped to 2 naps and I think that’s helping his nights though 😮
Pour some boiling hot water down your sink to kill any fruit flies in the drains! I also really like the Zevo insect traps (kinda gross, but they do work)
I also got summoned for jury duty when my son was 1.5 months old😅 I put in my request when I got the summons and then my number got called the night before and then they never responded to my excusal request until 1am the night before! After several panicked calls 😂
Hi Michelle! I absolutely love you videos, I like to watch them in the morning before work and they always put me in a great mood! I am a dental hygienist and always recommend the Dr. Talbots soothing gel for teething! It is made with more "natural" ingredients and works really well (from people that have kids and use it)! Love your channel!!
YoungLiving has a great bug spray that works really well. Not a fan of YoungLiving itself and their values, but it does work really well. Revive essential oils also has a great bug spray as well.
the way you are feeding connor is super age-appropriate, doing purees is more for the beginning of solids (like an introduction) and he is past that stage! keep it up!
I hope you enjoy this *long* vlog ☺️ & a reminder that you can get 15% off your first Brooklinen order at this link! bit.ly/michellereedyt

Yes! It worked for me too!
I was looking for this before I commented, it worked great for me too!
Works perfect, also wanted to recommend it. Also check your coffee machine, if there is a lot of coffee ground in the part where you collect the coffee pods it can attract fruit flies too
That is a good point about coffee machine! Will note for myself!
This worked for me the first 2x a tried but it didnt last long term

I'm only 16 but I find your videos really relaxing and inspirational, many thanks for sharing this part of your life with us :)
My favorite natural bug spray is “Bug Soother”! It is in a green bottle and actually smells fantastic!
I would definitely recommend to go to a baby class or library baby rhyme time or similar! My 6 month old definitely gets a lot out of it (& so do I!)

Same with the making mom friends. It’s so intimidating lol
we’re all in the same boat, not sure why it’s so scary haha 😅
For teething, we used to wet a baby washcloth, tie the middle in a knot, and then freeze. Our girls loved chewing on them
The Terro fruit fly apple trap works! I didn’t think it would but it cured my fruit flies.

For the fruit flies, try putting a little bit of wine in a glass, cover the top with Saran Wrap and poke some holes in the top! Flies will go in but then can’t get back out. It’s natural and baby/dog safe!
Song during park please? It’s so peaceful!!!!!
ahh if you use the app Shazam, it’ll tell you the title! I use so many songs in my videos I can’t keep track 😭
Thank you! Bless you!
Good morning Michelle happy Wednesday morning to you and I enjoy your channel and you are amazing supporter
I have a son who is about to turn 1 and we have loved Storytime at our library! Great for my son and for me to meet other SAHMs 😊
Your videos are so calming! ❤❤
🥺🥺🥺 you’re so sweet, thank you!
Another great thing other than the library is to start let him exploring a playground! You can meet other moms easily there, too!! 😊
Love your videos so much michelle!! You’re such an amazing mom. Thank you for what you do! Inspired by you🫶
thank YOU for the love! ❤️
California Baby bug spray is amazing- no chemicals & no preservatives!!!! made in usa
Date night ideas: go to the movies, go to a cafe, go to a bookstore together, go to the beach at sunset or a park, etc.
Hi, Michelle... : ). If you put white vinegar down your kitchen drain, let it sit a bit, then run hot water, that should do the trick! And, if situation gets worse, white vinegar + baking soda + boiling water.
I love your overalls! They're giving Super Mario Bros vibes!❤
okay I see it 😂🍄
Omgosh the zevo plug ins are great for those nasty fruit flies! It looks like a night light that uses blue light with sticky tape inserted in the back so it is hidden and it works so well and mess free. I have one plugged into one of our kitchen outlets above the sink (that's where they like to be the most) and just change out the sticky part once it is filled with bugs (you don't have to touch the sticky part, it has a tab you hold to pull up and throw it out)
what's the the Tread Count on those sheets? I don't sleep in anything with fewer than 1000?
Tudo lindo e calmante❤
Hey Michelle, does Aiden's dad sell his art anywhere? I always admire his work in your spaces!
A very beautiful job as always, Michelle, BTW, my Philippine vacation trip is finally comes to an end.❤🇵🇭
I hope it was a great vacation! ☺️
Michelle you really really made my day Today because since morning I am not well and you don't even know that how much I am loving your vlogs😭💖🥹
I hope you feel so much better! ❤
Personally I have found more success starting with purees and slowly working into baby led weaning as they get older. So if you don’t want to do baby led weaning or just don’t yet, it’s ok! Whatever is easiest for you!!❤️
@michelle can you link the Abercrombie shorts? The link is wrong in description box ❤
they’re the dad shorts!
I love your videos may God bless you and your family ❤ you are an inspiration, greetings from Greece ❤
oh how I’d love to visit Greece! 🤍
@@michellereedg I wish you will some day! I think you and your little angel would love our beaches especially Crete's 💖
LOL the first time I got summoned for jury duty was after I had a baby too 😂 like somehow I went 10 years without
Pour some boiling hot water down your sink to kill any fruit flies in the drains! I also really like the Zevo insect traps (kinda gross, but they do work)
I just did jury duty I liked doing it. The case I did was a one day case. Love your videos ❤❤❤
Feel free to use all those spices mama! Aside from salt and sugar, all spices are on the table and it will develop his palate! ☺️
YoungLiving has a great bug spray that works really well. Not a fan of YoungLiving itself and their values, but it does work really well. Revive essential oils also has a great bug spray as well.
Love the overalls!
Lovely vlog as always! 🤍
the way you are feeding connor is super age-appropriate, doing purees is more for the beginning of solids (like an introduction) and he is past that stage! keep it up!
If you mix apple cider vinegar with a tiny bit of soap and leave it on the counter it will kill the fruit flys. Although it doesn’t smell great
Michelle, where did you get your halter top? I love it!
Random question but what pillows do you use to sleep on? On the hunt for a nice pillow that doesn't give me us a sore and stiff neck!
We use Marlowe pillows and they’re incredible! You can make them more firm or soft depending on what you like 🤍
