I feel like I heard this in the womb or when I was a baby or something... it’s the most familiar and comfortable music I’ve ever heard in my life. I’m so upset I didn’t discover them earlier than I did, but either way I’m happy I did
I felt their nuances started becoming generic for themselves. Particularly that their sound lacked a new direction in their latest album. Hopefully these extremely talented musicians go on to form new and ever proliferating ventures...
All Oceansize die hard fans have a higher IQ than most Rock Lovers to appreciate this level of music. I Respect your statement. " The Band of the Century " indeed.
I disagree. Better to go out on a high like SPWTBFU than to sell out or burn out like so many other great bands have. Oceansize delivered nothing but incredible music for 13 years - from their first album to their last. How many bands can you say that about?
this song is fuuuuckin amazing but their other songs disappointed me:( what other songs sound like this n have this kinda vibe? the others from frames kind of bored me but maybe i didnt give them enough of a chance.
Agreed, after the first 2 tracks on Frames there isn't really anyhting that comes close except maybe the final track on Frames. rest of the albums are a bit meh.
Man, for all the reasons to hate on Oceansize, implying Mark Heron is a subpar drummer is one I never thought I'd hear. I'd say he and Danny are about on the same level, like they're both pretty fucking exceptional. And Tool and Oceansize are way too different from each other to compare. Oceansize aren't one of those bands who get labelled as "prog rock" because they play a more streamlined version of Tools sound *cough*Karnivool*cough*. Oceansizes' music is challenging, moreso than most of Tools even I'd say. I'd suggest giving them a few listens, Oceansize tends to be the type of band that grows on people, myself included actually.
Matthew Hurley Karnivool, now you're talking. They're my favourite band of the three. Never liked Themata, but Sound Awake and Asymmetry are in my top 10 albums of all time. I've never found them to sound much like Tool either though
You like Karnivool better than Tool or Oceansize? I mean to each his own I guess, I used to like Karnivool a lot but in the past year or so I've been turned off to them. I really didn't like Asymmetry, even though I tried really hard to like it. And its not that its "too proggy" because I prefer the prog stuff, it just felt sloppily executed to me. Sound Awake is their best album definitely - Change Part 2 is a great song - but even it feels a bit watered down and "poppy" anymore compared to other bands I listen to, including Oceansize and Tool. If youre into melodic, heavier prog rock type music, check out Intronaut if you haven't. They're definitely carrying the torch for this sort of stuff right now. Their older stuff is more sludge metal but the past few albums are fairly similar to Tool and even later Oceansize to an extent, though a bit heavier overall and with a lot more jazz & world music influence. Great live band too.
Not many drummers can really groove in odd time signatures, but this dude sure can!
Still one of the greatest rock bands ever. RIP 'size
And now, late 2019, this is still (and will always be) an amazing beautiful song!
I miss them so much.... I'm so grateful I saw them live in s small venue in Paris. The most underrated legend band ...

Best use of 11/8 I ever heard. I love Oceansize.
Outside now Frank Zappa.
Oceansize is a legend. The end of the band was a big shock. Many thanks for great live moments and the music-masterpieces. Unforgotten ...
I feel like this video should have thousand times the views it has now...
ABSOLUTELY
Don’t understand it.. have to get my fix of this band every day. Loving empire state bastard at the moment
Oceansize Never Forget. In my eyes, in my eyes, you're stilla alive

Commemorative Covid 19 T-Shirt

Mark Heron and Rob Jones: two of the best drummers EVER.
💓 How I love Frames... My favorite album.
Mark Heron's drumming is delicious on this song. Lol.
@cornishpastie9 He was actually a big part of the writing process in the band and came up with lots of ideas.
great great song, they will be missed forever
what a song!
fantastic music!!!
Can we put this entire live studio recording inside the WORLD HERITAGE CONSERVATION PRIORITY LIST FOR FUTURE GENERATIONS ? THANKS !
I wish they came back
Brilliant!!!
It comes as no suprise. you never let go
Why didn't they get a Grammy? Why didn't they get ALL of them...?

Woah the drummer has a freaking odd setup ......

Experimenting GENIUSES.....
Pinnacle of Progessive Rock
i loose myself
The death of this band felt like losing a family member.
I'd trade a few for a reunion tour...

@kimberlykenobi they are all beasts:p
Los pelos como escarpias, oiga
this song is fuuuuckin amazing but their other songs disappointed me:( what other songs sound like this n have this kinda vibe? the others from frames kind of bored me but maybe i didnt give them enough of a chance.
+sswillly Give them a chance. They'll grow on you and also check SelfPreserved While the Bodies Float Up (:
Agreed, after the first 2 tracks on Frames there isn't really anyhting that comes close except maybe the final track on Frames. rest of the albums are a bit meh.
Sleeping Dogs & Dead Lions, Only Twin and The Frame are top notch (:
Took me like three years of being in the same spot but then something clicked and now they're one of my favorite bands ever.
After 4 years now, what do you say?
Great music but the voice is a disaster!
GET A COUPLE OF EARS, IN THE PROCESS GET A NEW BRAIN YOU WASTE OF OXYGEN
Can I introduce you to Tool. They play odd time signatures, have a better drummer, and the songs are better
can I respectfully disagree. I love Tool (and yes Danny Carey is a great drummer), but I believe Oceansize to be better
I don't see why we should compare Tool and Oceansize. They are just too different!
