I was on Lamictal two months ago and after the two weeks of taking it I broke out into a rash and it was all over my body and face and my legs started to turn blue and purple and it started to cluster up. My doctor told me it was the Steven Johnson’s rash and if I didn’t stop the medication when I did it could of led to serious medical issues. I took Benadryl a lot too and after about 1 week and an half it went away. I still have a few scars from it and blisters but it was so scary, worst feeling ever when I was taking it. But I’m glad you’re okay!!

Oh my gosh, I’ve been on that medication since I was 7 for my epilepsy. Never had that happen! So sorry that happened to you.

I instantly knew what medication you were gonna talk about. I didn’t have a rash or anything i got what felt like electric shocks coming from my feet up my legs and i was just constantly confused dissociated. I don’t know many that have had a good experience with this medication. Fluroxine has been my number one to help with my bpd, anxiety & depression! Hope you find something that you can trust and works well with your body!
Emily, I was a guinea pigged on meds until my doctor put me on an old school med, Prozac and Abilify......
I am BiPolar. I am much happier now. Bless your heart, I understand the side affects.....
My daughter was on that medication. She developed the rash which turned into golf ball size lumps inside and outside her body. I stopped the meds immediately and also spoke with her doctor. That medicine is no joke, sorry you had to go thru that.

Omggg thank you for sharing your experience with the reaction. I always found Benadryl was worse when I was anxiety meds. The only thing that has made a difference with my mood is valproate sodium. Weeeeell I say that, I've been on lithium and maaaaybe it helps but it makes me shake so much that I'm just useless (you can see it in some of my TH-cam vids) I'm sorry that happened to you. I'm glad you're safe
Oh wow, I've been on that medication for years with much success but after seeing this video, I DO remember doctors telling me that you need to start it suuuuper gradually! They started me on such a low dose and slowly increased it every couple weeks. I'm so sorry you had that reaction!

As someone currently on that medication you mentioned, I entirely understand how scary a bad reaction can be! I am actually really fine on it, it helps, but I know that's not the case for everyone!
Crazy how different meds work for different people. I've been on Lamictil for 2 years and have had no problems. I was on Depakote for 3 weeks, however, and gained ten pounds in that time because I was sleep-eating. Lost the weight quickly after I quit that med, thank goodness.

I LOVE these nails! 💕 Also, that rash is no joke.. that is terrifying! My doctor told me that was the first thing to look out for when I started on it, & to stop immediately if a rash occurs. I am so sorry you had to go through that!
Mine told me too but I’ve never had a reaction to any meds before so I didn’t think it would happen to me 😩

Those little areas between your yard and who they belong to actually depend typically on whose fence went first(they're often put a certain distance from property lines etc)...or when diff properties were surveyed etc. We had exactly what you're talking about between our house and the building behind us. And a tree from there fell on my car. So we assumed since our fence was only about 6 inches from our property line (was basically right on it) that the tree that fell belonged to our neighbor behind us, naturally. And my insurance company needed to speak to them because their tree=their bill. Doesnt matter where it lands lol but in a weird twist...that little strip of land belonged to the property kitty corner to the apartment complex behind my house because of when the land was surveyed it was super weird.

We had a Derecho here in Colorado too, really bad wind and thunderstorms for like 3 days in a row 😬 Our back yard is full of huge branches now.
When she mentioned the benidril I rembered 2 weeks ago (I is 13 and and pretty normal weight) I had an alergic reaction and my nana and her friend said take twi benidrils, you be fine they said,you won't pass out for hours they said, I PASSED OUT OUT FOR ALMOST 19 HOURS AND IT GOT WORSE

I had the same reaction to Lamictal. It happened when I was in high school and my mom didn't want to take me to the dr at first so by the time I finally did it was so bad they asked permission to take pictures for medical studies and I was in so much pain.

Im live in Chattanooga, TN...I love it, it is my forever home. I also lived right outside of Portland, OR in Tualatin. I was born and raised in Arizona though. As far as calm weather, Phoenix was the calmest. No hurricanes, no tornados, no earthquakes. Just monsoon season which is just some evening thunderstorms that start in late june/early august. Tennessee weather has gotten scary over the last 5 years. This year was crazy. Tornados scare the crap out of me...I hate it.
I've been taking lamotrigine (Lamictal) for 13 years. It's definitely a touchy medicine to take. I'm so glad you're off it. I'm lucky that I didn't have the rash but it's been a huge help for me.
Seems like it either really helps or goes really bad, no middle ground
Oh for sure! I had to increase my dose very slowly over the course of 4 months. I had to get skin checks every week and it was just nuts! Seriously I am so glad you're okay!!
Thank you for talking about BLM. It's ok to be nervous. The worst thing you could do is to ignore/minimize it or to come at it from a judgemental point of view.
Oh and weather was horrible in Memphis as well. We were out of power for about 12 hours.

Shaping mail bed w/acrylic will have a much better result of u pause & file it nice and sharp (meaning meat & clean to the result you want..) Also, give it a little but of a cliff type of edging in the middle so if the color u are adding to the length overlaps, you can then pause b4 overlay to buff up or file area to then receiveAnn AMAZING sharp C Curve!!!!
(Try it out...you'll hey the hang and it will make a world of a diff😊)

You always give me confidence when I want to try something & don't feel I'm quite ready to go right in b4 trying on a practice nail 1st. So thank you for that. Some of my coolest sets have been ones I've dived in head 1st!!

I used to take Prozac back in the early 2000 to 2016 in Dec of 2016 my mom passed away, I had a really bad cold so I was talking OTC cold meds. I started to get her really bad skull aces really bad that I would loose my vision. Then I stars grin confused and doing things I wouldn't d an loosing balance. Tens out I was having a Stroke. Due to major ptsd grief and mixture of the Prozac and cold meds

I'm a second generation Nashvillian and I can assure you that this rain is on a whole other level this year; I went without power for almost 24 hours after that storm. IDK how long you've been here but brace yourself for the humidity to get even worse. Also thanks so much for the links! It did not occur to me to look to see if Nashville had a Bail Project. 🤦🏻♀️ Also, also, I hope you get your meds sorted out. 💝

Kind of odd comment, but my dog also freaks out during storms. My sister showed me that if you put a weighted blanket on them, it helps calm them down. I don’t have a weighted blanket but will use a random blanket and it helps
I was in intensive outpatient once and they gave me the choice between lamictal and something else and I picked lamictal because I was told the other one would make me gain weight and I was there for and eating disorder. She said I could get a deadly rash and die, but I just had really weird brain zaps. I'm on Prozac now and it's great for my OCD and PMDD

As soon as you said Lamictal I was like NO she got the rash!! I never had that side effect when I was taking it but I remember my psychiatrist telling me several times about it before I could start

Lamictal (lamotrigine) I took for my epilepsy years ago and I had an allergic reaction that happened within hours of taking it. My ex boyfriend was prescribed it for his depression I didn't realize it was so popular and that the allergic reaction was that common. I am also allergic to a few other medications that have given me the same reaction (rash/hives)
Idk what it is but I literally struggle at polygel so bad! 😂😂 they never last long always break and no matter how much I brush out the polygel I always get a clump on the back part of the nail. I switched over to dip powder and it’s so much easier for me haha I still got all my nails on currently so that’s a plus! 😂😂😂
No bathtubs during a🌪️! During a tornado pick like a hall way or any room in the middle your home or other rooms, basically any room that does not have an outside facing wall or windows. Love this set btw.
I’m on the same medication and I haven’t had any issues with it. Some people just have bad reactions to it.

That’s another thing I love about your channel not only the fantastic nails did you do but I love listening to your stories or or like you say your journey but the medication’s because believe you me I’ve been on my whole life for that now that I’m a lot older I’ve learned how to deal with it there’s a little therapy and meals are stunning as always and I love that glittery pink it’s my fave
I’m glad I watched this video! I was just reading about Lamictal a few days ago, considering it in the future. I have serious allergies, though, so I may just stick to Neurontin to be on the safe side.
In I believe 2012 here in Virginia we had a derecho, it was insane, we didn’t have power for weeks. Glad you made it out of that ok. Your nails turned out gorgeous btw. ☺️
Omg you said the medication a lil different than i pronounced it but same thing i swear because as soon as you said rash i knew.. I was always terrified on that medication to get that rash... they told me it was life threatening but still told me to take it🤪if i didnt already felt crazy i did then.. I totally stopped taking it out of fear and found other ways to cope.. hope everything goes well for you now darling!💕
I'm on same thing but I didn't get a rash I use it for seizures and my depression and I just call it lamotringe but the doctors now what I mean since it's another word for it

I take Lamictal and when I first started, my Psychiatrist started me on a really low dose and gradually increased it to prevent the rashes!
I had a great deal of hair loss from it
I was on this same meds it really messed me up I didn’t get the hives or rash but it took everything I loved couldn’t even think I got confusion my brain was really wishy-washy it’s so hard to explain but I am still trying to get my self back I Will never take Lamictal again☹️🥺😞

I am on Lamictal. It has helped me A TON, but the rash you can get Steven Johnson syndrome can be really serious!! All Doctors should talk to you about it before giving a patient the medication

Ugh i knew I loved you for a reason✊🏻✊🏼✊🏽✊🏾✊🏿 also question: how do you avoid acrylic getting stuck or gunked up in your brush? I swear I need a new brush every other time I do a fill on myself! Lol like I’ve resorted to buying brushes in bulk!
Make sure you’re not wiping the brush on your paper towel or whatever you use in the same spot over and over! You can also dip the brush in acetone occasionally to soften anything sticking!! If it is gunked up you can just soak it in acetone for like 30 min and everything should come off w a lil work!

I take lamictal for bipolar 1 and the number 1 side effect is a rash that can form all over. It usually comes when the dose is increased too quickly or the dose is too high.

Benadryl knocks me OUT, I use it when I bleach/ color my hair or if my allergies are nuts. My neighbors tree fell (which was very close to crashing my roof! ) on my tree, it was so scary. We got it down but I thought I was gonna have a heart attack. Love your earrings, they look adorable.

For some reason the pathway Benedryl uses isn’t “open” for me, so Benedryl doesn’t work for me. I can take it and have absolutely no effect.

Just a tip for the nail bedding you can use a tip at the bottom where you put it on your nail use that to cut it for a perfect nail bed ❤️👍

Its not you. I think the whole US has been having more bad weather the past several years or more. I think it might have something to do with the weather warming. I live in PA & we pronounce it like Der - echo. Those are like a wall of a tornado. Those can some times be even worse than a tornado. & they are really scary. But, I'm glad you're safe!

LAMICTAL OMGGGG YES FUCK THAT DRUG??? It literally made me feel like I was going insane mentally and I got weird ass rashes on my arms/hands that I just assumed were areas of “heat rashes”. Yours was way worse than mine, mine was a lot more mental but I’m happy it’s cleared up for you!
