What a heartwarming comment. Titanic is special to me for a special reason. The first time I fell in love was at 17, meeting a 17-year-old Roman girl while visiting my two prior exchange students from Rome (for a couple of weeks) who had stayed with us for two weeks in April (because I studied Italian in high school). Though 21, Kate played a 17-year-old in the movie, funnily enough. That level of youth plus distance (Copenhagen, Denmark, and Rome are 955 miles apart) was doomed from the onset. Her feminine model-like beauty and body were like a de facto clone of Kate's in Titanic, basically, the brunette version of Kate, and thus, when I watched the movie in the cinema only 6 months later, it caused a reaction unlike any movie ever since because it tore open something not even close to having healed yet. I was appreciative of the darkness of that early January night since it afforded me some privacy as we walked to my parent's car while I was struggling to suppress sobbing as I'd only, 'till then, ever done when my grandma passed just after Christmas a year prior.
Kate Winslet is an actress who just gets better and better. She plays such fierce women in everything she's in. The fact she went from being in Heavenly Creatures playing a murderer at just 18 and then few years later she goes to be in one of the best biggest movies of all time that is Titanic. Her and Leo are a fine example of a beautiful platonic friendship that will last forever.

You can't not admire Kate Winslet, she is so natural in looks and personality and despite the critiscms she has received about her figure and her facial looks, she is comfortable in her own skin and hasn't had any cosmetic surgery whatsoever. I admire the way she exposes her undressed self on camera. I watched her in a film called Jude years ago and the viewers saw quite a bit of her naked flesh in one shot and I just remember thinking how brave she was to let herself be subjected to any and all types of comments be them good or bad. When I lived in NYC, I'm almost 99.9% certain I was standing next to her near 15th Street Union Square. She had a stroller, and was with her child at the time. Waiting for the "Walk" signal, I caught a brief glimpse of her wearing dark sunglasses, and a shawl over her head. Still, she was drop dead gorgeous, very graceful, and much tinier than I imagined. I was too scared to say hi or even smile. I had such a crush on her growing up. She's still talented, beautiful, and even has a fantastic singing voice. Look her up with "What If?" which came out in 2002.
