    Another Wabakimi storm. I don’t think any canoe tripper has ever visited that park and not experienced at least one good storm. Awesome part two and looking forward to the rest of the series. Still cannot believe how high the water is…..unreal! Glad the bugs have behaved (so far). Keep the videos coming and appreciate the time and effort involved in the tripping, filming and editing.

      Thanks so much! That mean a lot coming from you! The storm was nice, they always make me feel soo alive! And somehow I always get lucky and get hit when I’m all set up already. The water level was surreal! It was soo extreme! Bugs were non existent, just the way I like it. Thanks for watching, I appreciate it!

    Well done, I love seeing that canoe in a wilderness setting, so nice, you don’t see that often anymore.

      I agree 100% the plasticy artificial look of the modern canoes and packs always bothered me a bit.

    Wow did you have some beautiful flat water to paddle on, aside from the storm that came through, been there more than a few times. Liked your choice of camp site too, much better than the site with all the stuff left at it. Noticed you have a Frost River pack, good choice! I make my own packs and such but if I were to buy anything it would be from them. They make the best old school products by far and none of it from over seas! Looking forward to seeing the rest of this trip! Take care!

      Thanks Donald! It was a very beautiful quiet morning. And yes, the campsite with all the stuff on it is definitely not my kind of campsite. I don’t want to see any sign of humanity anywhere in sight other than at most maybe a little firepit.
      I would love to make my own packs. I do make some of my own leather pieces but I’ve never worked with canvas. Always wanted to give that a go. It would be interesting to see your packs. Thanks for watching and take care!

      Thanks a lot!
      I have a gopro7 and a gopro10 for 95% of the footage and then my pictures are with my canon SL2 and tamron 150-600 telezoom lens. I film with my phone too. I always film everything at full 4K 60fps. I dont change much when it comes to camera settings🙂 i hope this helps!

    love your videos. One point if I may. You should never take food into your tent. Those smells can linger and could make you a tempting target for the local wildlife.. especially the large black ones .. even when camping on islands. How do you hang your food? Those trees do not look like you can hang anything from them.

    • @The-Dutch-Explorer
      @The-Dutch-Explorer  ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Thank you! I never ever bring food in my tent normally. In this kinda scenario, the options were eat it in my vestibule or eat it out in the pouring rain. I was hungry after a long day and had already poured the water in the dehydrated meal. I am personally not too worried about the little bit of smell from the one very rare time that I did this. I mean, my breath and my hands as well as the barrel on the outside all have some sort of food smell to it I’m sure. My fishing rod and the canoe probably has a bit of fish smell to it as well. I never hang my barrel anymore, I opt to instead keep my barrel relatively close to my tent at night, about 20 feet or so and I place it so I can clearly see it in a straight line from my tent door without getting out. I put a little bear bell on the outside of the barrel so that whenever someone is messing with my barrel it will wake me up and I can chase it off by yelling at it or if I really have to, use my bear spray which has its own place in my tent right beside my axe, knife and headlight. Bear problems are EXTREMELY rare especially at places less traveled. With all respect, I see your point, but I am not too concerned!🙂

    I do have one question though, if you wouldn’t mind answering, how many people did you run into during that 30 day trip?

    • @The-Dutch-Explorer
      @The-Dutch-Explorer  ปีที่แล้ว

      @@The-Dutch-Explorer is Definitively an area to go back into just to explore and photograph. I misread one of the rapids (oatmeal cookie) going upstream and got dumped! I think we're heading back up and starting at Bukemiga Lake
