Got home that day - soaked, freezing, covered in mud (Hampden being a bigger dump than it is now) and not giving one ounce of f**k !!. What a privilege being brought up supporting 😂THAT team !!!!

I was a fortnight away from my 8th birthday that day. My dad went to the game with his mate and came home ecstatic. My mum took me and my brother down to the foot of Leith Walk to see the open topped bus parading the cup. Happy childhood memories. I loved the Hibs back then and still do today all these years later.

Two great sides with two great managers . It's just a pity Turnbull and Stein didn't get along until much later in life . Eddie Turnbull had no time for Jock Stein during their managerial days . Probably as result of the highly competitive nature of the sport they were in ; although Eddie Turnbull said that he became friends with Stein later on .

they didnt get along because jock left hibs to manage celtic at the time hibs were top of the league and played celtic in the semi finals of the scottish cup same season celtic won both but eddie was hibs thru and thru and jock the same for celtic both great people and managers they'll never be forgot they will still be at it up in heaven no doubt god bless

Turnbull was from Falkirk but would I be right in saying that Duncan, Blackley and Brownlie were all from around the Falkirk area?
