Love hanging out with you on Saturday mornings Jen. I love the buttons; they add personality. Black buttons would also be nice but would just blend in. Thank you so much for explaining what was happening with Ravelry 😂. I kept wondering who was knitting these things like the jock strap and the fetus purse. 😂 2025 is definitely off to a weird start. As a Canadian I’m not loving the threats to annex coming from south of the border. We sent our water bombers to California, at great expense to us. That’s the kind of neighbours relationship I would like to keep. ❤

You have only 5 lines per day to reflect & write what you want to remember about that day. I love that on each page I can look back at previous years. It’s titled One Line A Day: a five year Memory Book. (From Amazon) Thank you for sharing about knitting times with you & your friends, especially Ericka! Knitting friends are the best. ❤
Knitting my third Half Hour Hat as I watch this. That Purl Soho stain soap really works. I have actually given it as gifts. I would change the buttons to black.

LOVE the Lego Cat Lady, hilarious! I too am a paper/pencil / notebook aficionado! For larger makes (sweaters) I use a spiral notebook to keep project notes, especially “At The Same Time” directions (sleeve + v-neck) & other notes to self. For smaller (hats, mitts, socks, shawls) I use my Leuchtturm1917 notebook. I “did” have first half: socks, second half: hats…etc but oops, different books have hats + mitts or cowls + hats, sooo lol. I also put essential info on Ravelry project pages, more detailed info in my notebooks. TIP: I put the book + page number at the bottom of Ravelry project page because of “all over the place” notes. AND I also try to put the DATE I started (and/or when I actually finish, ahem). I’ve also ordered more Leuchtturm notebooks in different colors. I like your idea of listing “Yarn To Get” for xyz future project. I’m afraid to list the stash! That said, I really DO try to add to Ravelry Stash when I get… but… guess I’m knitting thru my WIP Mountain & I’m too “busy” to log alllll the things! haha Thank you for a lovely respite! Knitting + audiobook + cuppa !!!

You and Erika appear to have so much fun and provide such contrast in styles - it is just the icing on my wool cake. I have been knitting the Stria cardigan - and you gave me the idea to split for sleeves by the end of the month - it is likely I will meet that deadline! (Even after tinking 5 rows at 300+ stitches per row)....Thank goodness for LIFELINES! Now, I will add this to my journal - I can see great value in journaling - especially on any handmade item. I’m not on Ravelry too often these days, but lately I’ve been trying to update my project status more regularly. Late last week I saw some of the NSFW stuff and literally texted my friend “I think Ravelry is trying to punk us”. I loved it and I’m glad Rav got a lot of traffic lately. It used to be such a fun, vibrant place and l miss it. Community is so critical right now. Thanks for sharing!
It's cool to see your Journaling and planning process. I'm a legal pad gal these days. I have kept one for meal planning since 2020. I have a separate one for random household stuff and one at work. I like that the pages are big and lie flat, but they're not as cute as other notebooks. I have a ton of those too, but they're for specific special things like travel.
OK, this was perfect. I guess i have been "journaling' for decades and continue to do so. I love making lists and tracking projects, sketching ideas etc. and literally have volumes of these notebooks/journals. I'm not good at rules when it comes to creative things and I made the mistake of checking out the bullet journal book, reading it cover to cover and trying to follow the "rules". I failed miserably. Your video made me feel better about doing things in a more artistic and free flowing manner. I will stop judging my style and comparing it to the official bullet journal one. Thank you! Always love seeing what Erica is up to.
I knit two of those right after we returned from Iceland, one with pockets and the other sweater from that book, which I also put pockets in (I modified the other sweater because I HATE drop shoulder sweaters, especially with a yarn like lopi.
I love the Daytripper on you. I feel you on the button dilemma. I made a Daytripper a few years ago (also my first steek) and fretted so much about the buttons (high contrast or low contrast with the button band?) too! I ended up making a second Daytripper in the same colors because the first one was a little too small for me. I decided I liked low contrast gray buttons for myself but I put brown buttons (kind of like yours) on the smaller one and donated it to our local nordic ski association for their fundraiser auction. I don't know who won it or how much it fetched, but I do love to wear mine all winter long here in Spokane.
So many things to say. Wish I lived nearby so I could join your in-person event. Your colors made me reknit my first Daytripper. The colors I chose were AWFUL -- I ripped back and have used all the yard in different projects. Second try was with gray and I wear it often. Also, my kids were on the first wave of the Ninja turtles, so anything relating is fun to see. You do great things, Jen. Keep it up. We need each other especially now!!
Your cardigan is fabulous! I think the buttons are perfect. They just fit on screen. Please PLEASE make a Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtle sweater. I so would make one. Heck, I would wear one. 😊
Yes! I'd love to hear how you journal/plan and how you juggle multiple books. I always fail with the multiple books. The only time I succeeded with that was 2023/24 with a medical/health journal that fully documented my illness (cancer) and treatment. I love your TH-cam.
Thanks for explaining Raverly lol 😂 I agree with you about the buttons in your cardigan, my eye just goes right to them and not the pretty colourwork. They seem too busy and big. Like your black and smaller idea. Community is so important in these times! Up here in 🇨🇦 so many of us are in disbelieve 😢
Love the sweater, but the buttons call the eye to them and not the yoke. I think a dark gray, that blends more, would be a better choice. Congrats for the Ravelry post!
I think you’re right - the buttons are too big. I like a previous comment that they distract from the yoke. Love the Lego dolls! Have fun at your event! Wish I could come!

Crazy week is right. I honestly don’t know how I’m going to get through it. I’ve been wanting to ask about your Incredible Blanket… I was wondering if it is going to make an appearance anytime soon. I actually bought two advent kits from Miss Babs during her annual sale… one is cool colors and one is warm colors, and that is what i want to do with it. I also would like to make a poncho with another advent set held with mohair. But right now I’m working on an extra wide scarf from my original advent set that I got this year from Miss Babs (Yes, I. actually bought a second one of the same thing for the blanket). Here’s my problem. I’ve pretty much calculated that even if I don’t work on anything else, my scarf won’t be done until right before the Maryland Sheep and Wool Festival in the beginning of May. There are so many things I want to knit, and definitely not enough hours to knit them in. I wish I lived closer to you. Your knitting events sound like so much fun.
I wish I lived closer to you and could join your knitting gatherings. I find the comments from our Canadian friends so painful. I hope they know that there are millions of us who view Canada as a trusted ally and nothing more.
Love the sweater but the buttons, though so pretty, are distracting. Smaller and blend in color will show off the sweater instead of the buttons. In my opinion. Ha! Oh to be so organized. I love your ideas for your journal!

You could use the turtle charts to duplicate stitch them onto a sweater you already have.
