Great talk Barrett! Thanks for sharing your own personal journey and for dispelling some of the myths around success that pervade popular culture. As I watched your talk I was reminded of how fortunate I am to be doing work that I truly love and how grit and the support of other people are essential components.

Incredibly well done Barrett. Makes me feel like I'm watching a future Dan Pink up there! Loved the data too.

I suspect Mr. Brooks has never had a food service job.

FWIW, I had more than one food service job. I also ran a lawn business in high school and have done a lot of manual labor for money.

It is a global epidemic that most people don't like their job. Trying to make the small changes towards what you want is a necessary first step!

Great talk Barrett. Gives a great perspective and brings to mind some great research that is being done on motivation and happiness.

I really needed to hear this piece of advice. Surrounding oneself with great people is not an easy task. Very glad you found fulfillment in your new venture. Fantastic TEDTalk. Ruh Rah
