- Arizona officially joined the United States as a state on Feb. 14, 1912. But the journey to statehood was one of the longest of all the states in the union.
Historian Jaynie Adams of the Arizona Historical Society traces the long and winding path to Arizona's statehood on the 110th anniversary of State 48 making it into the Union!

Love the story of AZ, I've live in AZ most of my life. I'm 62 years old and have sons and grandchildren born here. I tried my best to show them AZ. I'm from Midwest.

Driving through Arizona I learned about the 5 C’s.
Im from California. My grandma was born in Santa Fe but migrated here in the 30-40’s with her brothers. New Mexico is different and a experience to see and I always wondered if I still had family there
I was just thinking about this the other day as I come from the northeast and you can easily turn nearly any main Street in any town back to what it looked like in the 1800s cause the buildings are all still there. And many farmhouse date back to 1700s so your are constantly reminded of the areas history as well as taught about it like the battle of Saratoga battlefield memorial from the Revolutionary war was not far from me out here you don't see but maybe the last 100years but in all actuality European history dates further back here with the conquistadors looking for gold left their horses me pigs for on hand supplies if abd when they came back which the Natives ended up revolving their life around the horse and vastly expanded territory for buffalo hunting as they had become highly mobile and highly effective at utilizing the horse in battle in ways that the 2nd wave of European visitors had never even dreamed of and got beat up pretty good a few times till they adapted
There is a belief that Arizona was the last of the lower 48 because we were behind in getting civilized. Seriously. Rural Arizona is still more like the Wild West of the days of Tombstone fame. Example, the Sixth C of Arizona would have to be ClaimJumping, and it's still legal today. True story, my neighbor decided all by himself that five feet of my land was his and he started tearing out my fence and smashing my landscaping. The Sheriff's Deputies (This is a Rural phenomenon) said they could do NOTHING until I paid the cost of a certified survey (which is thousands of dollars.) I got a real estate Lawyer for another $1,000 and he totally agreed with the deputies. The burden of proof is on the person who had behaved like he owned the place. When the survey proved it WAS my land, the Sheriff's office said there is nothing they can do regarding the damage. My only option was to sue the guy. ClaimJumping! It's still not against the law in Arizona. BTW, I couldn't get a single news media in Arizona to take an interest in this story, not even "Call 12 for Action."

This could have been an informative video, but the inflection (in speech) was sooooo distracting, I feel like I'm listening to a valley girl getting ready to head off the beach. It reduced the value of the subject. Not a very good way to communicate. Ended it in the 5th minute.

@@ullahaunia6604 Giving a negative opinion on a nonissue is not only ignorant its also demoralizing and poor manners. The person providing the information is obviously young and finding their stride in communication. Pointing out all the flaws in your character seems to be simple, like you.
