Why Rastafarians reject Christ when Bob Marley was baptized in the Ethiopian Orthodox Church. As well as Haile Selassie being an Orthodox Christian I will never understand.
This was a big hinderance for I on my trod in Rasታafari. The more I started to think about Yesus Kristos and the teachings of HIM, the more I started to feel a void that i had not noticed before... the more I started to seek what HIM showed ini, the more the void was more apparent. It was the moment I decided I need Christ (as per the scriptures and HIM, that HIM came to I in multiple visions and showed himself as the Christ too and showed me when I was to be baptized. And I might say for myself that from early childhood I was taught to appreciate the Bible and my love for it increases with the passage of time. All through my troubles I have found it a cause of infinite comfort. "Come unto Me, all ye that labour and are heavy laden, and I will give you rest" who can resist an invitation so full of compassion? Because of this personal experience in the goodness of the Bible, I was resolved that all my countrymen should also share its great blessing and that by reading the Bible they should find truth for themselves. Therefore, I caused a new translation to be made from our ancient language into the language which the old and the young understood and spoke. Today man sees all his hopes and aspirations crumbling before him. He is perplexed and knows not whither he is drifting. But he must realise that the Bible is his refuge, and the rallying point for all humanity. In it man will find the solution of his present difficulties and guidance for his future action, and unless he accepts with clear conscience the Bible and its great Message, he cannot hope for salvation. I have a Message and Testimony to share regarding this; Years ago (2006) while living Boston, I got into a confrontation with a workmate (Nigerian Rasta) who was bullying Me at the job since I was new. When he rudely ordered Me to do his part of work, For some reason I responded; "In The Name of RASTAFARI, I won't do it". He calmed down, but responded by saying; "Even RasTafari does not know You". I was "hit hard" by that response, because, as a Ugandan, from Africa, and Haile Selassie 1 had visited Uganda, I could have been in position to have met him, even if at the time He departed from the physical plain of this Earth, I was already born. A baby. But I felt hurt that the man's response had a truth in it. That night when I went to bed, after praying. I had a VISION. It was as if I was in a car, seated in the front passenger seat of a left handdrive car. I was sad, but the "Driver" seemed to have a happy smiley face. (But I hadn't noticed who this driver was). We reached a destination, seemed like a school area. And like a child being dropped off at school on the first day and didn't like the idea, I got out of the car, walked in front of the car towards the left. But "The Driver" smiling still, said; "You've forgotten something" as he was reaching out down the passenger seat where I had been seating as if giving Me what I'd forgotten behind. At this time, His door opened, I was reaching out also to pick up what He was hanging Me. It was like 3 BIG BOOKS". As I was bending down in the car over his laps to receive the BOOKS, THANKING HIM, I said; "RASTAFARI" while bowing to Him in Respect. For some reason, His appearance was respectful. But he also replied; "RasTafari", and I found Myself repeating; "RasTafari", and He also repeated; "RasTafari". 3 Times. It seemed as if He was "teasing Me", Caz he still had this smile on His face, yet I was sad. So He said to Me; "I AM RASTAFARI, TELL THEM, I AM YOUR GOD". (In such a soft kind voice and tone). In silence, I started turning slowly, looking at Him, but trying to see HIS FACE. Because All this time, I had not noticed or known who I was riding with. He was clothed in the FIELD-MARSHALL's Black Uniform That Haile Selassie 1 used to wear. But as I was about to see His FACE at the neck area. I work up laying on My belly, with My Face awkwardly looking at My chest trying to look higher to My Face. Which was impossible. I was so certain, I saw Haile Selassie 1. He was The Driver all along. A few days later before I returned to Africa, I walked into this Rasta Rasta shop on Dorchester Ave in Boston, and for the first time saw this Big picture cloth like a flag of Haile Selassie 1 seated in the same position as it was in Vision dressed in that same Black medaled Field-Marshal's (Emperor's) Uniform. I bought it. And remembered what He said in The Vision; " I Am RasTafari, Tell them I Am Your God". Yet I had read in His books when He denied being God. But also remembered what Christ said; "Let HIM that comes after Me deny Himself, pick up His cross and follow Me." So I figured, while Haile Selassie 1 was physically on Earth, He denied Himself and followed Christ's principal. So I figured He had fulfilled a prophesy to deny Himself and follow Christ. Though, I only saw His familiar uniform, but woke up tryna look at Myself. What do you say, or how do You explain that?
I was open. I looked for God everywhere as a child. I needed his protection from demons from birth. Also did my research to find HS as another prophet and messenger like Christ. The story of Christ is History, History is "His-Story" (The story of Christ & His people- The Ethiopians/Africans). All of Africa used to be called Ethiopia until 17th Century AD. Hence, the story of Christ can be found in many African cultures, including Egypt. HS is the 2nd return of Christ (Not as the Lamb, but as the Conquering Lion). Some have stated that Buddha is also Christ, cos there's several missing years in the story of Christ and some said he was away in the far east preaching the Gospel. I beleive Rasta existed before Haile Selassie came to Jamaica or His Majesty sent a Priest to Jamaica. What His Majesty did say about Rasta was that we were to organize and centralize. It's very common for some historical figures to become surrounded by an enormous quantity of myth, legend, praise And worship, and it can happen very quickly too, especially when they become the target of religious reverence, so The Fact that this has happened is not saying that the person in question didn't exist, One fairly recent example is the Adoration and veneration of The Ethiopian Emperor Haile Selassie to the status of God, by people he never asked this Favour from, he even begged them to stop worshipping him, Yet this Deification and continued worship continues to This day, This is the foundation of the modern Rastafarian Faith, which claims hundreds of Thousands of Followers Worldwide, Even Though he professed to his death his own Christian Faith and his despair at the fact that he had been elevated into a Revered God so quickly, despite his protest ( you would think if your own god protested your worshiping him, you would listen), and yet here we are, Myths and legends about Haile Selassie grew within his own lifetime, ever since The great Jamaican activist and orator; utter these words, '' Look to Africa Where A Black King Will be Crowned, he Shall be your Redeemer, '' From then the Faith grew in Selassie's own lifetime, ( with the help of Reggae music ) and more rapidly since Selassie's death in 1975, And yet this doctrine never had any basis in fact or reality at all, yet still, somehow, They remain The Central proclamation And attestation of the Rastafarian Faith, This should draw parallels with Jesus, Why ? because if this can happen To Selassie, in modern times, it could even more easily have happened to Jesus, because back in Jesus's time some Two Thousand years Ago, most people were illiterates, There were no universal education, There were no media per-se in the ancient world, The Printing-press did not come into existence until the year 1439 CE, and back then most couldn't read or write, Whatever The Bishops or the Clergy says was the only truth, people were told that Jesus a man, was born from a virgin, ( which is a biological Impossibility ), and that he was God's son, ( which is an assumption based on speculation and conjecture ), up to this day people still accept and believe what they're told, without question. If There was a real Jesus perhaps he himself begged his followers not to worship him, Neither to tell anyone to worship him, ( Mark 8 :27 ) Jesus begged his followers not to tell anyone that he was the Christ/Messiah, ) yet just like the Rasta's They did Anyway, if Jesus like Selassie begged his followers not to worship him, we wouldn't know, because unlike Selassie, The only Records we have of Jesus are written by his Fervent devoted worshippers, There's nothing else, So perhaps everything Told about Jesus is just as made up as everything now told about Selassie by the Rastafarians, yet it's told anyway, and not just Told, but believed completely by every adherent of the faith, even in the Face of overwhelming evidence to the contrary, Some Rasta's even said that Selassie is Christ reincarnated, Looking at the status of Haile Selassie in the Rastafari-religion we find the following ( 1 ) The coming to earth of a messianic figure who was prophesied in the Old Testament, ( 2 ) a birth accompanied by miracles ; ( 3 ) a child with immense divinely given wisdom who possessed miraculous powers, ( 4 ) a man Who could perform miracles and in whose presence miracles occurred, ( 5 ) a man who was worshiped and believed to be Divine by Thousands upon Thousands who have never even met him, ( 6 ) a man who is still thought to be alive despite evidence of his death, despite the facts related to the actual historical figure of Selassie, As we see, Rastafarians have built an extensive religious mythology around him, and even did so within his lifetime. Imagine if, at some point in the future...the vast bulk of the historical record was lost, and that the only records of Selassie's existence that had survived were from the pen of the devotional accounts of Rastafarians, Then the only story future historians would have to work with would be made up of layers of mythology, about The story of Selassie, A man who arose in a time in which Jamaicans and Ethiopians were awaiting the coming of a messiah/christ. Their writings would be filled with references of the fulfillment of Old Testament prophecies, stories of miracles, tales of God walking on earth, and the denial of the reality of Selassie's death, They would read that Selassie is still alive and that the Proof of this, is that followers can communicate in spirit with him, As a result of this, surely there would be some who would Adopt a mythicist' position with regard to the historical Selassie, and if they did, they would be wrong, because there really was a real man Selassie, he just wasn't anything even remotely like the narratives his worshippers wrote and told about him. Years ago (2006) while living Boston, I got into a confrontation with a workmate (Nigerian Rasta) who was bullying Me at the job since I was new.
When he rudely ordered Me to do his part of work, For some reason I responded;
"In The Name of RASTAFARI, I won't do it".
He calmed down, but responded by saying; "Even RasTafari does not know You".
I was "hit hard" by that response, because, as a Ugandan, from Africa, and Haile Selassie 1 had visited Uganda, I could have been in position to have met him, even if at the time He departed from the physical plain of this Earth, I was already born. A baby. But I felt hurt that the man's response had a truth in it.
That night when I went to bed, after praying. I had a VISION.
It was as if I was in a car, seated in the front passenger seat of a left handdrive car. I was sad, but the "Driver" seemed to have a happy smiley face. (But I hadn't noticed who this driver was).
We reached a destination, seemed like a school area. And like a child being dropped off at school on the first day and didn't like the idea, I got out of the car, walked in front of the car towards the left.
But "The Driver" smiling still, said; "You've forgotten something" as he was reaching out down the passenger seat where I had been seating as if giving Me what I'd forgotten behind.
At this time, His door opened, I was reaching out also to pick up what He was hanging Me. It was like 3 BIG BOOKS".
As I was bending down in the car over his laps to receive the BOOKS, THANKING HIM, I said; "RASTAFARI" while bowing to Him in Respect. For some reason, His appearance was respectful.
But he also replied; "RasTafari", and I found Myself repeating; "RasTafari", and He also repeated; "RasTafari". 3 Times.
It seemed as if He was "teasing Me", Caz he still had this smile on His face, yet I was sad.
So He said to Me; "I AM RASTAFARI, TELL THEM, I AM YOUR GOD".
(In such a soft kind voice and tone).
In silence, I started turning slowly, looking at Him, but trying to see HIS FACE. Because All this time, I had not noticed or known who I was riding with.
He was clothed in the FIELD-MARSHALL's Black Uniform That Haile Selassie 1 used to wear.
But as I was about to see His FACE at the neck area. I work up laying on My belly, with My Face awkwardly looking at My chest trying to look higher to My Face. Which was impossible.
I was so certain, I saw Haile Selassie 1. He was The Driver all along.
A few days later before I returned to Africa, I walked into this Rasta Rasta shop on Dorchester Ave in Boston, and for the first time saw this Big picture cloth like a flag of Haile Selassie 1 seated in the same position as it was in Vision dressed in that same Black medaled Field-Marshal's (Emperor's) Uniform. I bought it.
And remembered what He said in The Vision; " I Am RasTafari, Tell them I Am Your God".
Yet I had read in His books when He denied being God. But also remembered what Christ said; "Let HIM that comes after Me deny Himself, pick up His cross and follow Me."
So I figured, while Haile Selassie 1 was physically on Earth, He denied Himself and followed Christ's principal. So I figured He had fulfilled a prophesy to deny Himself and follow Christ.
Though, I only saw His familiar uniform, but woke up tryna look at Myself.

I beleive Rasta existed before Haile Selassie came to Jamaica or His Majesty sent a Priest to Jamaica. What His Majesty did say about Rasta was that we were to organize and centralize. The first king was Saul then David and every king that sit on the throne has to go through the process. The Hebrew translation of the word anointed is "Masiah, messiah" ... the Greeks translation is "christos christ. So if King Saul, David Solomon and the rest up to Selassie had to go through the process "anointed" _ Masiah _ christos to sit on the throne. Who are they? Clearly the title Christ is not God but servants of God. If we read the old testament.. l call it the root testament none would think any of these kings are God. David throne was promised by God to continue and whoever sits on it is a Masiah not God.

Yet the two sources haven't exactly elaborated on what that is. Could you please help me to overs this because from studying the life and history of HIM I didn't perceive that.
