    at all times, even till you drag the side of the bike, you will actually have more rubber on the road than any motorcycle tire. Now on a much lighter bike i think a car tire might feel a bit weird. The nearly 1000 lbs goldwing kinda forces the tire to nearly conform as you turn in your video here. Being as bikes like the goldwing see 90% straight line interstate this makes perfect sense to do this.

    Well... I just installed a "Radar 195/65R16" car tire on my 2003 Goldwing, 24-08-07. It was tight but got it in place without any prying tools. Looks good too. Also installed Eco beads for balancing.

    Wet weather traction is a night and day difference, at least it was on my Voyager XII I went darkside on. Definitely going dark with my GW as soon as I go through it and get ready to ride it (just bought this 1995 SE)

    Try dropping the PSI to around 32 for a CT on the rear. Been Darksiding for 3 years now on a 2005 GL1800 and have experimented with 40 PSI down to 30 PSI. 40 PSI is spot on for a GL1800 motorcycle tire. Currently running a Pirelli P1 CT on the rear, stock tire on the front.

    So now that it's been 2 years how do you like it. And please be honest

      Since he rides a heavy cruiser and changed to a 2nd CT... we know the answer. The only sceptical people are the ones with zero experience or sponsored channels like fortnine.

      @@corneilcorneil well I ride an 1800 as well and don't have a CT on it. But want to do it this spring . So I was just asking his honest opinion about it. Tired of people telling me don't do it. My bike, my life, my decision.

      @@mosmotorcyclejourney9067 Correct. People who tell you not to do it have for 99,9% ZERO experience with darksiding. I have 2 identical cruisers, the one with a MT was the drifter. Both have a CT now.

    Nice vid. I'm looking to go darkside on my 12' wing. I'm torn between the driveguard RF, Pirelli snow control, and the yokohama avid envigor. Also, greetings from North NJ!

    Car tire are dangerous on a bike. You're taking a huge risk!!

    • @corneilcorneil
      @corneilcorneil 3 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Why? What are the risks? Facts and numbers, please.

    • @johncamesano5844

      One must consider the time spent riding on a worn tire. I'm riding dark on my 07 GL1800. My first experience with it and still have safe tread after two seasons and 20K miles. Plan to renew before it wears to the bars because I can afford to.

      @Biker guy Explain please. I always like to listen to people with experience and a lot technical knowledge. What is the "huge risk" please? I ride darkside since decades and really want to know the "risk."
      Risk that you have more grip? Risk that your bike brakes better? Risk that your tire last longer? Please, "Biker" tell me.

      Car tires on a bike are actually safer. Better contact patch. Better in the rain. Better breaking. Better ware. I could keep going.
