Thank you for your tutorials. I love these placemats! They are so much fun to make, because you make the steps easy to follow. I used a jelly roll, and I recommend it to those who want to make the coordinating and cutting fabrics easier. I can't wait to give them to my daughter for Christmas!
Ok...... I just had to stop in the middle of making a set of these place mats and tell you HOW MUCH FUN they are! I’m using a jelly roll of batik turquoise and blues and greens (plus additional fabric for backing and pockets and binding) for some dear friends-and all the while I am thinking of them and how much they will enjoy them. And it’s like doing a really cool jigsaw puzzle-only it’s way easier!🤣💕

For those of you using the spray adhesive, make sure to use in a well ventilated space and make sure you cover the work top so you don’t have adhesive where you don’t want it.
I cut up large garbage bags, top them with news paper so I can just toss the news papers, fold the garbage bags for the next time. It works wonderfully. If you have calm day, do it outside. Lots of room on the lawn, using everything above.
According to the packaging, the fabric requirements are: 1/3 yd each of 8 to 10 fabrics or thirty 2½" x 42" strips, 1/2 yd each of two fabrics for pocket panel, 7/8 yds for binding and 1.5yd for backing fabrics.
