Derek, I found that if I clip the coil charging clip on the coil before sitting it on the floor or plugging the cable in, it works great. Just gently sit it down so the clip does try to pop off. Also, watch it for a bit to make sure the light stays solid. If it does, then you’re good to go. That detecting do dads guy makes a nice charging clip, I’ve been fine with stock clip, just my grip is failing so hard to get it on. I’ve seen people squeeze them too hard and break it too. Keep on digging
Derek, Has anyone tried expandable foam injected in the back of the shaft maybe? I know the foam noodle would work but looks tacky, lol You guys in the trenches get to experiment and work out the bugs. I love beach hunting but I’m close to 3 hours away from the closest beach so rarely get there.
The scoop floats thankfully. I am alway attached by headphones so I have never worried. But when someone lets it go to the bottom that’s all if the few feet recommended by Minelab for submersion! Great question!
I meant for wading, diving you’re already in the bottom so you probably don’t want it to float then. It’s so funny, in 1983 I had a white’s pi 1,000. One knob pulse detector, never leaked, never broke down. It had an epoxy coil so stayed submerged great. Case floated but with the coil weighted, it just stayed upright perfectly if you let it go.

Can you just run the V in the headphone wire towards your back? If so that will keep the loose wire in front and camera view. I hate wires hanging in front anyway gets in the way of everything.

The discrimination is crazy good! You can eliminate small foil and still get small rings. It will eliminate small thin gold like any other machine though 🙏
Does it hurt your analytics if I pause it a few times while watching? I pause it when I need to leave the room. I do try to watch all the way through, although maybe not in one session. No sense in it playing if I'm not watching. ;-)
In the water I use dive mode. On the beach you should try all 3 others. Think frequency! If someone just used beach p it only makes sense to use beach sensitive.🙏
Detecting doodads has a better charging clip that you can purchase also make a new clip for holding your unit onto your shaft so it doesn't fall off into the ocean in the surf pretty quality stuff gig Masters using it so is Calabash I bought it for mine also I found that I've been making sure that I charge the headphones with that single wire and not using the three wire thing and sometimes I've even charged the coil with just that single wire 👍🦀
Hi ,the deus 2 has its faults but they all do…I’ve flooded my ctx {new model before they upgraded the battery} I have also broken a upper shaft on the old model from friction where the shaft meets the handle housing before they made a rubber moulding to stop the rubbing from maybe over use, with the nox I have flooded one and a friend has broken shafts,coils,arm cuffs on a 1.5 year old unit ,with both the Equinoxes I’ve owned I have I have bought aftermarket parts ie detect-Ed parts ,I have also flooded a sea wolf from Russian after about 5 underwater hunts in waist deep water…maybe they should use me to tryout new detectors, but one thing good about deus is the 5 year warranty 2 years more than minelab …so just beat the shit out of it and if it breaks send it back.
Yes I have had my deus 2 for 2 months now I detect most nights and yes it’s a unreal machine …probably the best I’ve used 5 gold rings and 3 real deep…thanks for the reply …happy hunting and good luck

To prevent the Deus from sinking just cut a short piece of “noodle” and zip tie it on just below the arm cuff, best hack 😘
Run the wire for your bone-conduction headphones up the back of your shirt.

Deus allows for 60’ I’m sure low expansion foam would eventually waterlog?

I have more hours to be able to say this! It’s the best beach machine I’ve ever touched! Not dived enough to know the depth in water yet.
