I have a 2010 SSV and it turned out to be the same process as the one mentioned in this video. You answered some questions I had about this whole DIY project. Thanks a lot for the help!
I have the same seats. I put the in a f150 truck. Using that 3rd row as the rear seats. I have been trying to figure out the folding. This helps alot. Do u by any change have the wiring diagram.
Hi Ian. Great video, thank you. I got the 3rd row seats installed in my Ford Expedition SSV 2018. I’m having difficulty with the seatbelt install, and am afraid I have the wrong parts, would you be kind enough to share the part numbers needed for a complete install of all three seatbelts? Thank you!
Heyo from Montana! We just bought a 2021 SSV and are looking to do the same thing. If you could send me any build/materials/ diagrams/ wiring and advice from your install I would sure appreciate it. Not sure about these bolts, but on my ‘15 focus, the accessory bolt holes on the steering rack were supposed to be tapped by the bolts on install, maybe these are too? Thanks a ton!! Can’t wait to add a a third row for the third kid in July!
I never thought about buying a bolt that would tap it's own hole but I guess it's possible? I can't remember what specific bolts I used. Probably need to be pretty strong, I remember they were tough to tap as is. Be generous with the tapping oil. As far as other materials - I used one of these SPDT switches so I can select whether I want the single or double rear seat to move: www.amazon.com/gp/product/B07H17JWB2/ref=ppx_yo_dt_b_search_asin_title?ie=UTF8&psc=1 And this polarity reversing switch to do the raising/lowering 1 seat at a time: www.amazon.com/gp/product/B001PNIJM2/ref=ppx_yo_dt_b_search_asin_title?ie=UTF8&psc=1 I found a circuit in the rear right of the car that was live with the key on and tapped into that, didn't run a new circuit. Also can't remember what size wire I used. I then ran the wires behind the right rear panel and then underneath the carpeting/seat to where the connectors are. Be careful when cutting the hole for the middle rear seat belt, I cut mine too big because I wasn't exactly sure where it connected above the headliner. And make sure you don't let the seat belts fully retract, if you're buying this stuff used then the seatbelt should come tied with a knot in it a few feet from the end. Undoing that knot before you've got the seatbelt installed causes a spring runaway and you have to pull the seatbelt retractor internals apart to rework the spring and hopefully not damage it in the process. Here's a link to a wiring diagram for it: drive.google.com/file/d/1_qkTBJ5CiX1ZaACdiHkYUGaDUUbKR9_u/view?usp=sharing
Thanks, I’ll update when the seat gets in and things progress. As far as the bolts go, I just figured it might me a Ford Thing. We’ll see when I order them

Is there any way to manually raise and lower the power seats. Having the same issue: bought gov vehicle and adding 3rd row.
I am not aware of that being an option on these vehicles.

How did you remove that cover that holds the jack and that other piece as well?

Sorry I don't have those, the yard that I got my seats from included the seatbelts as part of the deal.

Is there seatbelt power that has to be wired in?
There wasn't on ours.
Did you keep this trunk floor? I could buy it
I threw it away a few months ago after having it sit around for several years ...
Same done on 2021 XL trim which came without third row. Easy cheesy
Hi Ian, were you able to install the 3rd row? Everything ok?
Yes, it went well and has worked fine since it was installed.
Suggestion : swap out front seats 💺 with bench seat from STX f150 . For a 8.5 seater. 🤯🫢😁 🍻
