This channel is an attempt to chronicle my life and adventures since arriving in the Republic of the Philippines on November 26, 2013. This is my first time taking video and editing, so please bear with the process. Hopefully, I will get better over time!! I hope you enjoy the videos and get something out of them. I met my asawa while on Detachment to Cubi Point 1988. Since my squadron was on USS Midway, we could see each other a lot. I was Station Dito 1989-92. Got married August 11,1990. Now this August 25 years of Marriage, and 3 daughters!

filipina's are very sweet, humble, and loving women. my GF is filipina, I've just spent 3 weeks her, going back in a couple of months, she is the best thing to happen to me.
Filipino women are very loving, loyal, sweet, caring, amazing, they treat their men with great respect, i am truly humbled. I in turn will do the same for her, love my Filipino sweetheart . Best thing that has ever happened to me.

I have also met my filipina on a dating site. I'm only 26 so I don't have the finances to live there. I'm trying to get a fiancee visa. We've known each other for 8 months and I just got back from the Philippines last week. She truly is the sweetest girl I've met, always there for me. I caught pneumonia within the first few days of my vacation and without her I would've suffered so much more. I met her entire family and treated the kids and they all love me. Hearing your problems with jealousy made me laugh.... we deal with the exact same thing. Living across the world ain't easy. It's already hard that you come from different cultures and sometimes there is a misunderstanding. Like when I make a joke that she finds offensive but would be funny to an American. In the end, it's hard work, but it's very rewarding. I can't wait to go back to the Philippines again next year.

I actually met Weng on the old myspace .We were friends for nearly 3 years before we met in person. We were engaged in 2012 and then married in December of 2013. We too used YM to stay in contact. We use FB, Viber and , Skype on phones for constant contact now until I return to Philippines in October. I think it's odd that everyone in USA just assumes our plans are to Live in USA but, actually we are laying foundations of our plan to remain in Philippines
Wow - MySpace!! Yeah, I have no intention of going back to live in the US either. Maybe later on if health or kids education becomes an issue.
A number of viewers have been asking how Michell and I met. They've also been asking me to quit incessantly rambling on, but that's a whole nuther video. Please excuse the rooster and wind noises - the GoPro doesn't have the best audio quality. We'll be talking more about East/West relationships in future videos. Enjoy!

google wind noise fixes for gopro...ive been to lazy to implement them...basicly you can use an external mic with a big fuzzy thing on it or put a big fuzzy thing on your go pro mic...if that makes any sense haha.
Bushman Canuck Yeah, they are called deadcats or sumthin like that. We shot this right in the middle of those windstorms that we recently had. Not a smart move by any means. Then again, at least it drowned out my droning for a bit.

Sounds like how me and Loritess met, only i friended her on Face book and over two years later of skyping and chatting on private chat on Face Book and exchanging photo's of each other and our family's the relationship grew till , i finally decided i wanted to travel to Philippines and meet her , spent almost 30 days with her , met her family went on Beach trips with her and her family, i found myself so comfortable with her and her family who accepted me and welcomed me right away , as they had also met me over the two year period on face book , but when i actually came all the way there to meet her any doubts they had about me were out the window. They knew then my feelings for their daughter was very sincere and were thrilled for us. So needless to say i fell in love with Iloilo city as well and have now decided to return in the Spring and stay with her in the Philippines. And we are planning our lives together. Their strong Catholics we went to Sunday Mass every Sunday , i got to meet one of her Ministers at service he spoke better English then me LOL and translated his sermon in English as well. So just had a really great time and loved Iloilo city. I love you and Michelle's video's very much and i'm very happy for you both Ned. Thank you for all the good advice and tips as well.

I met my Jenepher online in international cupid on 18th April 2011. She was the 2nd person I messaged and after messaging back and forth that day I went back to the first person and told them that I had found someone special and not being a player I wished them luck. From that day we skyped everyday for 1-3 hours depending on her work schedule and did so for 2 years.
I had a longterm health issue is the main reason it took so long but on May 5th 2013 I came to Santa Rosa City Laguna and set up home in Bel Air 1 laguna. We spent 1 year there and then moved to bel air 2 for like half the rent of my first place and so far we have been together now nearly 2.5 years.
For a guy that was an agoraphobic for nearly 10 years I know how much I lucked out as she is beautiful inside and out and so hard working as we work to build a real estate business this last year. Hoping in 2016 that we will finally marry for more than 1 reason lol.My one tip would be to park your western ideas at the door and learn to embrace the people and their sometimes frustrating ways because in the end you will be so much happier. I am 48 and my Jenny is 31.

I also met my wife on DIA in July 2012. We are married now and living in my home in Hawaii. I saw her picture on DIA and knew I had to meet her. You guys look like such a cute couple. Im not kidding ,one Sunday mornng in Davao i was haveing breakfast on a 3rd story resto and looked down to see a big sweet looking tour bus rv with a banner on the side reading sunday riding club.All these guys were riding Harley Davidson dressed up bikes.I looked at my wife and said ....Nooooooo waaaaaaaaaay!ahhahhh

I met my Cebuana wife via A Foreign Affair in Jan 2013; first met her in person and got engaged 4 months later in May; she arrived here in California in March 2014; then we were married in Las Vegas the next month on April 2.

The mundane stories are sometimes the best. I met my girl thru a friend of mine. He went to the philippines, to meet a girl, at her friend asked him, if he had any friends that would want to correspond with her, and he gave her my number. And we've known each other now for 3 years, been over and visited her once, had some setbacks, but I'm on my way to saving up again, this time, it will be to propose :-).
I have met a girl from the Philippines on Minecraft and spoke a lot, shared a couples of opinions then we listened to some music together and I felt a feeling I only felt when I was young and innocent. Some memory tissues reconnected and I became filled with love. After a couple of days talking to her I realized she is the girl of my life. All I want to do now is make her happy the way she want. But I need to change my ways of seeing things.
I love Filipinos because they are real people.
TheHypogriphQc although it’s possible to fall in love quickly you need to spend some time letting the relationship bake to see what direction it goes.
That’s true in any relationship. Go with the flow so you can let things settle a bit and see where the river flows....

I really need to retire and get over there. We've been all over the Philippines and I am finally sending her to school, a two year trade college, and she is almost finished. She'll be graduating in May 2015, so really looking forward to it. I know you probably get tired of hearing this but Michell really is a cutie. well,not bad at all......it is wonderful weather humid but i love the state.since ive been here 3 yrs...love it the beach.my bf he was from atlanta city but he lived here almost 32 years at florida.he told me how the florida developed the roads and highways.only few people around here since he was moved.well, probably 10 yrs. from now it is like a new big city.most of our neighbors are from canada.

Kumusta Michell and Ned. My story is similar but not exactly the same. I am enjoying your videos and didn't realise you had do many. I will have to watch them in order so I don't get confused. I also met my girlfriend on the Date In Asia website and spent a lot of time talking and learning about the Philippines until one day I saw a profile and knew she was the one for me. We are doing the long distance dating thing until we can arrange to be together peramently but luckily do not have major trust issues. There is a large pinoy community where I live in Australia which makes all of it a lot easier with their support and friendship. I felt excited and encouraged after watching this video as I realised the sacrifices now will be well worth a future of happiness

We flew to davo and stayed on samal island. then went back over to dumaguete for 2wks and went to amlan to spend time with family.
I will be back 2nd wk of October 2014 in dumaguete for 2wks.....then she will come to New Mexico in June 2015 to be married.

Your story is so similar to Mine and my Fiance's that it's scary. We met on AsianDating.com on July 5th 2012. We did the Yahoo thing, then switched to Skype. Started with her in Cafe's, Roosters, Dogs, Tricycle's, etc. So many parts of your story mirror the relationship I have with my Filipina. I went to the Philippines to be with her from April 7th - April 19th 2014. So it took 18 months for us to meet in person. I just sent in the Petition for the K-1 Visa to the USCIS. Now we wait. Hopefully we will be together within the next 6 months. Both of us are very lucky men. If I knew many years ago what I know now, I would have looked for a Filipina a long, long time ago. They are the best companions any man could ever hope to find. Good Luck to the two of you. I know exactly how you feel Brother. Also our Filipina's look very similar as well. I, unlike you met my Filipina asawa the old fashioned way. You know, just by talking in person the way folks used to lol. They can be jealous. That's why I bug my misses a bit. But as far as it goes, (though I've met a few questionable Filipinas) most are great ladies and I don't use the term lightly they are genuine ladies! I would never have imagined meeting such a fine lady after dealing with western female chaos for so long lol. I enjoy seeing you folks together in vids. As far as the endless rambling comment by someone. Videos on youtube are usually someone talking. Do take care.

Nice love story! When its right, its right no matter where she's from. Michell seems very sweet. I've seen her cooking videos, love it. Maybe I can pick up some cooking tips. Ned, in the US those meals she cooks are somewhat pricey depending which Filipino restaurant you go to.

Nice video you guys. I don't recall if you ever mentioned being married, Ned but is it safe to say you now have enough to go on to describe from your perspective the difference between having a relationship with Western women vs. a Filipina? Likewise, if Michell could share her perspective, maybe the information could help other couples in the early stages of development find ways to better understand and accept the ways of each other.

I'm a skeptic but this is ment to be.In 1979 my wife and I started out the same way and you have a QUALITY lady their.You will grow old together......36 years and we are great in the woods camping or traveling....and EXPLORING......and we are better together than apart.We fought insecurity and jealousy for the first 10 years.

Wow you guys and us have a lot in common. My fiancée is from Cebu in the province and have family in Zamboanga. We also met in July 2012 on filipinocupid.com, My fiancée is now in the usa on k1 fiancée visa and we are about to celebrate 2 year anniversary on 7-26-14, I also was going to plan a trip to asia but didn't know where but when I met my fiancée on site I choose phil. I can really relate to both of you in your journey cause we experience the same things. Its very hard to find a good Filipina and I got lucky as well. My fiancée got on the dating site cause she was bored lol. She just reach here in usa on 6-26-14 and we will get married in sept. I enjoy you guys and watching your channel. I miss the phil but have to wait for my fiancée to get her AP card so she can travel outside the usa to go to the phil. I was 2 steps from moving to the phil but I had my business, daughter , and house. It more opportunity for her to move to usa and then we will go back to phil. Congrats on your upcoming marriage...did you have to go through the process of of getting your Fiancee's child to the USA also?...if so was it difficult?
mainenwo Thanks....We will begin that process in March 2015 so we are not to close to the deadline cause we will file the "follow-to-join" paperwork and you have to do that within 1 year of my fiancée entering in the usa... it is suppose to be easier cause they still have her info on file so it goes right from lockbox to NVC...Plus he gets a immediate visa and doesn't have to wait for a priority date which could be months to years...
I think we can safely say that's its just as hard for a Filipina to find a good expat, no? Congrats on your upcoming marriage. Well, my fellow bachelors, we are losing another one. :)
LloydNLynnLif3 Nice to see great success stories. I also met my fiance on filipinocupid.com. in Nov 2012. She is from Cebu but we met in "neutral" Manila 2013. We talk daily and we love each other with the kind of true old time love. Her visa is about to be approved and she should be here some time in May 2015. Patience, trust and understanding will help anyone through tough times bcz of the long distance. Stay committed and it will pay off! She is the best thing to happen to me in my life..

Hey Ned and Michelle, Great story . Ahh DIA . Good site , but i must say finding the right one there is pretty hard . You are very lucky she had acess to the net like she did . Ill be back in Cebu for the third time to visit a girl i met in Dia and it will probably be the last before filling for her paperwork , even though the plan is to end up back in the Pi .
