Every body has a story here’s mine: I loved the high from crack. One day I woke up craving it and realized I had been doing it for 5 years with the help of “friends”. Soon I was getting high with a friend and expressed my desire to stop. He immediately took me to an urban rehab center where I checked in. I told my mother I was scared and she told me to “brave up”. After release unfortunately I relapsed as I went to same environment and husband who was doing weed and snorting coke. Snorting was ok but smoking was not according to those in my orbit I was on a path to destruction as he was an enabler I separated from him and eventually divorced. I went from that to meth. Then I met my current husband and we moved out of country. Couldn’t get it so the desire for both drugs faded and now back in US I’m clean for 15 years. Moral of the story is one must get out of the environment, away from people who tempt you and you must have severe consequences for your actions. My husband was high ranking government officials and I was scared to mess him up. I removed myself from the environment and people who tempted me. I thank my Father God Jehovah for saving me before I o’d or someone killed me. No excuses just my story and I feel plaintiff’s pain as I felt my mother’s pain for me. My mom is long gone and I ask and hope she forgives me.

She made a classic error that too many women make, and that's starting a relationship with a broken man and thinking that it's her job and within her capability to fix him. You see it often with women falling for prison pen pals. She got him WHILE he was still in rehab without giving him a chance to finish the program, resume his life, and prove that he could remain clean and productive for a substantial period of time. She needs to take responsibility for that part as well. Also, she was a widow in mourning thinking that she could use him to replace her ex-husband. I hope her mindset has changed since then.

I dated a crackhead, my thoughts were that I could save him..I volunteered at the County Drug Clinic so I could become more informed..I drove him to rehab several times without positive results..One day I decided to let him go totally, the strain on my life wasn't worth it..He went to the Grocery store to get collard greens on a Saturday morning and didn't return until Monday evening in my car..The END was my only option........🥺😕😗🤔

Ain’t gone lie, I appreciate the way he stood his ground to the judge and stated he took it wrong! Some of y’all might find that crackish ways but he knew what he was tryna say and you should not allow an addiction to be the reason you judge someone before getting to understand what their trying to relay. Good luck to them both.

Crack has taken so many of our loved ones throughout the years, and now it's fentanol. I had to save myself and children from an addict. I get blamed for doing so, as if I made him start doing it!!!! It's been 20 years since he developed that habit and is still in and out of it. I can only pray for his recovery and growth, but I refuse to accept any of the behaviors that he displays because of it! I raised our children alone afterwards. The youngest barely remembers him at all and he's 23 now. Just sad all the way around, nobody wins when someone is addicted

OMG! I,lived her life, my husband was my knight in shinning armor,, I loved him just as strong as I had the day I fell in love with him. We did not want for anything, I had all I wanted and more than I needed,I did not have to work, but I chose to do so because he loved weed and my fear was one day weed was not going to be enough,I was right he would bring home $2500.00 weekly and when the crack took ahold , his payday was Friday and Sunday he borrowing money .I kept my checking in my name only,I almost lost my home and my mind.I have never loved a man like I loved him, I went to meetings with him I was there 100,Just like her all that I bought for him ,he sold, lost his job of 16yrs, and everything he owned, druggies would use his van for free drugs, I did not want to ever stop loving him because if I did I would never love him again, My baby boy saved my life and the love of my life died.

In Nov 2021 I moved out of my apartment. I lived alone with my 8 month old at the time. I was 27. We loaded the UHAUL and delivered some furniture I was giving away to a friend of his. I let him drive the truck because it was dark, cold, and raining and I wanted to be with the baby where he could be strapped in. Well somewhere along the route he took off with the truck. All of our things were gone. My baby didn’t even have any milk that night. All the stores were closed early due to Covid so there really wasn’t anywhere to buy his formula. Two weeks later the UHAUL was found abandoned in the next state over. Nothing was in it but my keys. Everything was gone. Even important documents such as SSN, birth certificates, etc. Moral of my story.. Addiction is awful. I forgive him but I don’t forget and had I known his addiction to crack was so severe, I wouldn’t have offered to pay him to help me move. I pray for people with addiction. Wen he’s asked what happened to our stuff he doesn’t know. Probably cause he was so high. I am still angry because he stole from my son. He’s innocent. It’s a year later and I’m still replacing furniture because I can’t afford payments. I am periodically experiencing identity theft. His actions effected us longterm. Like damn, I was gonna pay you. Why you chose to steal everything we had, idk.. I’m just grateful our home is falling back into place 🙂
