me too, one day I myself will bring back the scene, once I get the resources, someday. And much love to Pauly of Sympty, the whole scene changed after his passing. Miss the Key Skate as well. Synergy and Columns of Knowledge tried their best, but they too eventually fell off. I have yet to find myself on any vids/photos, but I am sure they are out there floating around. that's way cool to see yourself there. kinda reminds you to stay true to your younger self.
I used to know one of the girls in mosh pit that ran Gabber Girls and she is right next to you in black. I also recognize Russian guy in blue with pony tail, Punk BTS can be seen and Pauly Sympty and others. I actually bumped into guy from my Junior High School (Vladimir / Walter BTS) but he was too crilled out to even recognize me :) I threw Scream rave by Urban Assault at The Wave on Halloween 1999 ;)
NYC has always had a history of mosh pits at HC parties... with D.O.A and IS parties back in the early and mid 90s... this was the scene, you got more love in the mosh pit than you'd ever get at any massive rave... it was raw, real and absolutely amazing. Given that most HC producers come from punk/metal backgrounds and most of us knew each other not only from raves but also from other events... given that HC was played at places like CBGBs... can you really be surprised at this? This is HC...

But anyway it’s really nice to see that lenny rocks the dutch ‘93 sound in the states, cuz it’s so unpopular over there… But respect to to lenny tho! There’s a dutch golden DJ rule… Better play good with with the lack of good mixing instead of good mixing whilst playin bad records ✌🏻 Btw he’s using some basic hiphop mixing assets which almost all of the Dutch DJ’s got a lack of… Except some popular DJ’s like The Viper, Bass-D, DarkRaver… It’s definitely worth to check ‘m out!
Hardcore was NYC, the rave plur thing really didn't fit that well imo, you always came with a large group to avoid problems, i leaned towards the hardcore scene because the rave thing was too cheese.

I was there..I remember everyone was smoking cigarettes dipped in embalming fluid and smoking week and drinking alcohol some people even took LCD. This was the PLUR movement long gone from NYC you will never see this kinda of party again. Also there was no violence.

None of my friends wanted to go in with me and not knowing anyone there and still being new to the city (for college) I'm total awkward in when and how to participate. But I wanted to! And it was a blast! Glad to see everyone smiling into the lens at one point too :)

First time I'd seen it too, but it was fun. And no one was getting hurt. I've been in pits for metal and hardcore shows. This was more 'fun/excited' moshing than anything else. And it was a free public concert, music may have been new to some of the crowd.

It was a VHS-C camera if I remember correctly. Probably a JVC model. I'm amazed how well it handled audio when I was right in front of the speaker. It must have had some built-in audio limiter with quality I don't even hear from todays digital cameras or camera phones. It's shocking.
