    También se pueden instalar con unas tanasas y un desarmador plano algo muy fácil.
    No es necesaria la herramienta especial.

    I just changed my Cv joint and boot the large clip fits easy but I was a bit surprised to see the smaller clip didn't seem long enough to reach the around the boot I am misstified at this. I cant clamp it on as it doesn't even meet the other side of the clip it seems to short. It's from a big motor factors to the trade my local garage uses them. I am a bit peed off

    Why aren't the barbs\hooks orientated towards the outside so as to remove damage to the boot?

      So it doesn't fold and protrude outwards after crimping, like he said...

      Usually not with those tools as clearance is often an issue. You can but you need a special more expensive version. Look up offset cv boot crimping tool or offset cv band tool. Make sure to only get the best quality tools and ties. You don't want to have to redo this anytime soon. Good luck.

    I don’t see what’s wrong with a nylon cable tie - it seems like a better mechanical solution. These things are needlessly difficult, with a lack of adjustment, and one time only use. Dreadful design even if common.

    • @albertoascari2542
      @albertoascari2542 5 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      I think cable ties slip of easy and might not pass the mot. I tried that and it didn't hold the boot on

      A nylon cable tie? Are you insane?

    • @jamiemccort8388

      jonnyhifi Cable ties are ok for a quick temporary fix, but not for a permanent one. They almost always end up slipping off.

      @@marleythechameleonandherbi2724 im pretty sure he meant one of those super Thick ,heavy duty zip ties they are almost as wide as the metal clamps..Ive used them myself and they are Strong! but since its plastic, it will succumb to heat ,oil and age and could over time go bad... metal crimp clamps, u set and forget.

      There’s a clue in the name it’s a ‘Cable Tie’ !!!!!!! Not meant to rotate at high RPM and vibration in extreme conditions, by all means use one but it is ( very ) likely to fail long before any of the other components you just replaced,
      Have you noticed that the ‘Lock’ on a cable tie brings the two legs in at 90 degrees and not in line so it is very difficult to get it tight and flush on a round object.
