Former gang member turned child advocate and vocalist Will Keeps sings a duet with Des Moines Police Officer Mike Moody to spread hope, love and a message of unity.

Officer Moody was my school resource officer a few years back. He always strides to make a difference! Great guy.
and now DSM schools have gotten rid of resources officers. .....and they wonder why families flee to the suburbs.

I've never commented on a you tube video. This compelled me to do so. Wonderful work gentlemen. Both with the vocals, and what you are doing for the community. A thousand likes. Truly inspiring to see people working together for the good of others.
This was my first time commenting as well. Thousands of videos watched, and one from two people, who were once on the opposite end of the spectrum, showing that we can come together to make things better, right here in Iowa, moved me to do so. I’m so proud of how he represents all Iowans and inspires others from different places to aspire to do the same.
And he has helped to bring forth change in state law here for alternative education, and in bringing an entire community together with one simple goal. Love and happiness for all of us.

I don't do much of anything but i feel things. I'm currently listening to Will on the radio, begging our community for help and understanding. It almost sounds as if he's getting more help from what we would call the the other side more than from us. Don't let that be the case. Reach out to him, our community, your neighbor, your friend, each other. Big ups Will!
Unfortunately I fear you're correct about the whole "other side" argument. Until more people on BOTH "sides" realize that there are NO SIDES, those that want us divided are going to keep winning and it will be both side's children paying the price. This is not a left vs right thing, it is a GOOD vs EVIL thing & God always wins!
Love officer Moody and DMPD. My son is partially named after DMPD Sargent Patrick Hickey. It was weird to know so many officers when I was lost in drug addiction who are or biggest cheerleaders in sobriety!!

@@lisaconklin5094 DMPD and DMFD saved my life several times. I'll never forget them checking up on me after my abuser was found dead in a trailer in Ankeny with his girlfriend. He left me in a wheelchair for life and they thought of me because of my PTSD. He had no other family so the medical examiner notified me of his death and I had a panic attack. Officer Olsen was very sweet to check on me.

Every time I see a post or report of a new, or continuing collaboration with Starts Right Here by businesses, government agencies, and elected officials I get hope in people in general. That hope wouldn’t be there if Will weren’t spreading it.
And, I get choked up every time I see a post of a proud, resilient, and hopeful young person graduate, who had no hope for the future before they met him. The world needs more men like Will Keeps. I know I did when I was young.
