    Mama Olga is such a creative and innovative "Chef", she manages to cook delicious meals with whatever ingredients she has around her.. you can also use tofu if you ran out if eggs, tuna or meat.. Good Job Mama Olga!!

    Its better if it is deep fried. To Andrei, before u cook Filipino food its better if you watch in youtube for a guide for a better result.

    andrei it should be deep fry in oil so it will be cooked and crispy in all sides without getting burnt.you put the lumpia when the oil is already hot so it will not absorb the oil..before cooking anything you are not familiar try to watch it in youtube first with mama olga..God bless you all

    You used yellow wrapper that’s why. The white one is what we normally use for the turon

      It's ok to use yellow wrapper, as long it is coated with sugar or it's sweet

      Yes and not to burnt it. It's also dip fried because in order for the wrapper to be cook evenly and not burnt and in order for the filling to be cook correctly @andrei you can use egg wash to sealed the wrapper properly.

    Usually bananas are just cut in the middle but since this is for family consumption, you can cut however you want and put as much as you want in a wrap. 😅
    Next time try bananacue or banana con yelo the kids will most likely love them too. 😊

    Next time you make lumpia, you add some glass noodles for more fillings. Cool down before wrapping and more oil when frying.

    Lumpiang gulay is mostly made in bean sprouts/ toge,small shrimp,tofu, turnips, my nanay sometimes put sweet potato/kamote🎉🎉🎉🎉

    Hi Andrei: when you are cooking spring rolls or banana turon, they are best deep fried... that way they will cook evenly. Put enough oil to cover the rolls and set it on medium heat. Wait until the oil is hot before dropping the rolls in, then they won't soak up so much oil. And when they are cooked, just use kitchen towels to soak up the excess oil. Also, to get a crispier result it's best to use just a single thickness of wrapper. I hope you don't mind me giving these suggestions. Oh, and for banana turon, cut the banana thinly, lengthwise (and just put 4 or 5 pieces in the wrapper).

    Just cut the banana in half lenghtwise 😊 for turon then one by one coat the banana in brown sugar and wrap then deep fry. 😊

    A little more practice and patience and mama Olga can make her lumpia look better. I think she needs to reduce the filling a bit and patiently pack it to form a cylinder and roll it to make it more round instead of it looking like flat packets.

    Andrei, tell mama Olga that I'm so proud of her for wanting to cook good Filipino food for her family and she does have some ingenuity in a few video I saw of her cooking. A true cook! Tell her also I feel like I'm going to get fat just watching her cook and you all eating with such good appetites! 😋☺️
    Andrei, if you can find Avocado oil for cooking, get that cooking oil because it's healthy for you so you don't have to worry so much about using touch cooking oil that's not good for your body. That's what I use now since finding out Avocado is so much more healthy for you.

    Yummmm. For lumpia gulay ( spring rolls) pls wrap it roundly ( it's a roll). And for Turon ( with banana fillings) wrap it flat ( like she did in tuna wrap)

    Hello Mama Olga, may i suggest you to try this version of lumpia.
    Ingredients,
    1) Half kilo of sprouted mongo.
    2) 2- pieces of sweet potato or potato itself.
    3) one fourth kilo of pork meat.
    4) Carrots and Cabbage.
    Procedure, fry with enough amount of oil and salt to cook. Remove it from the pan and it
    wrapped it with LUMPIA wrapper re-cook until it's crispy with golden color to cook. I assume this version is tastier.

    Lumpiya should be cooked deep fry (swimming with oil), so that it will cook inside too not only the lumpiya wrapper

    For Turon, the best banana is SABA, and use the lumpia wrapper. Sprinkled with brown sugar while deep frying. And for vegetable lumpia, it's better to put mongo sprouts with tofu.

    try to dip it in sweet chili sauce which you can buy in supermarket or you can make it on your own..or you can dip it in vinegar with onions and put a little sugar or you can dip it simply in banana ketchup

    Wow Mama Olga likes to cook always . Yummy vege lumpia and turon. Vege lumpia is best to dip in a vinegar with onions and black pepper or u can buy in the supermarket sweet chilli sauce

    I like vegetable lumping. It's yummy. I make my own dip, I mix soy sauce and vinegar and add minced garlic. Yum, yum.

    Cooking lumpia should be done with lots of vegeta le oil or lard in low heat to make it crunchy but not burn. You do not need to turn it if it is covered with oil because all sides will be cooked at the same time.

    Saba bananas are for cooking..you can also boil them with the skin. Add water to cover the bananas..Boil until soft..saba should be ripe.

    that lumpia gulay looks delicious, theres a lot of different lumpia, there's fresh lumpia but using the lumpia wrapper you buy , lumpiang ubod, lumpiang hubad , and the turon, better cook it on lot of oil because it's meant to be cook that way and you can put jackfruit, cheese or ubeng halaya

    Turon is my ultimate favorite! I used to make it with the whole saba, brown sugar, cheese and sesame seeds! Aaaaah the smell and taste is incredible! I even made a living out of making those before the pandemic. Best paired with plain black coffee!

    It has to be fried in almost deep-vat oil. The oil must reach 168-170 degrees celsius. Not too hot oil will make your lumpia oily. Frying in oil not reaching proper temp will make the food prone to oil absorption resulting to oily food.

      To check on proper temperature without using a thermometer, you may partially dip lumpia and when the oil produces huge bubbles, the oil is ready.

    Mama Ulga, I will share it to you my recipe .
    lupiang turon,
    *slice in half horizontal.
    * then roll the sliced banana in sugar (you can also add a slice langka)
    * then wrap it.
    *and fried.

    You know how to make better tasting turon? I buy jackfruit (langka) in a can. I cut into small strios , I add to banana when I wrap. Smells good, taste good.

    I just cut the saba in half lengthwise. Add sweet jackfruit.add a bit of sugar then wrap and fry.

    Saba banana is native to Philippines it's healthier than other types of Banana because it contains less sugar and carbs and has many health benefits and very good for people with diabetic... Banana chips is also made from green Saba banana...

    the reason why need to deep fry the lumpia in cooking oil is because of the wrapper inside that should be cook and become crispy too and not saggy and cook evenly all sides at the same time the filling will cook well too if you notice only the outside of the lumpia wrapper is crispy but inside still soft is because of lack of oil and not cook well both, sides just buy a healthy cooking oil like coconut oil and drain with paper towel 😊👍

    Mama Olga always start with garlic and onion when you cook Filipino dishes. Chopped finely and saute in a bit of oil until onion I'd transparent before you add other vegetables or meat.

    I use regular bananas for my turon, and I think it's better taste. Sometimes it's hard to find good quality banana for turon,, ( it's called saba) so I just use regular bananas better.

    I think Iwill live longer if I go back to the Philippines. And live in the province just eating fruits, vegetsbles , fish, chicken, swim in the ocean, drink coconuts everyday, relax under banana tree, eating all kinds of bananas, I love this simple, relaxing life, no huzzle and nuzzles, no traffics, just simple paradise life.

    i think she need to add more oil to make the lumpia cooked properly and very well.
    but before that.. to make lumpia more tasty, she need to add little magic sarap little pinch of salt but if the family don't like to add salt just put magic sarap while she is cooking the vegetables before she fold in the lumpia wrapper.

    You slice the banana into 4 lengthwise so that when you wrap it the result is round
