It sure does. Joe could have been bitter, could have held a grudge like so many people do. He didn't forget the insults that Ali hurled at him, but he found it in his heart to forgive. He was a true champion inside and outside the ring.

I don't think he ever forgave Ali. He mocked his Parkinson's, telling the little girl I won 1 he won 2, but look at him now it looks like I won all 3. Also he saw it as God punishing Ali. During the torch lighting in Atlanta he said he wished Ali would have fallen in. I don't blame either, what Ali did to Joe was unforgivable to him. Ali just saw it as a way to promote the fight and win the mental battle. I think Ali truly regretted the impact it had on Joe later in life, but again I don't blame Joe for never letting it go.

Some documentary i once saw mentioned that Ali won the Manilla fight by mere seconds , it was a close shave .Ali wanted his team to throw in the towel cos he couldn't take any more hits to his ribs and was in pain but his pain wasn't visible. His team were trying to encourage him to keep going , he really wanted to end the fight . Suddenly it was Frasier's team that threw in the towel moments later . Frasier's team were concerned about the blood around his eye but he wasn't in pain like Ali. So it's Ali who wanted to quit and to throw in the towel who won the match cos Frasier's team threw in the towel for Frasier who actually felt okay to keep boxing .

Joe Frazier was the truest of gentlemen sportsmen in a viscous blood sport, they dont make them like Gentleman Joltin Joe anymore. Met him a number of times when he had his singing group the 360degrees, many times visited Central Penna they loved Joe there. Really down to earth shared many a toast at the piano bar. Met Ali a couple of times and he was a changed man from the early seventies as I remember to the late eighties, he became man and always spoke of Joe Frazier with total resect in the later years. He realized he had mistreated a great man.

I am currently reading Muhammad Ali's biography, "The soul of a butterfly, reflections on a life's journey", and God what a thrilling experience to see Muhammad's life through his own eyes and philosophy.
When he talked about regretting to turn his back on Malcolm X and his apology for hurting Joe Frasier and his family, it was so touching and emotional. You can feel how sincere he was and how much he regretted those acts. In the book, Ali wrote: “Joe made me fight harder than I ever thought I could. He was a formidable opponent whose skills I will always respect.
But I had hurt Joe in more ways than one and I didn’t realize at the time how my words and actions impacted his family. It was never my intention to hurt them. For that, I’m sorry.”
He even wrote a poem for Joe and his family, published in his biography.
I picked some parts from the poem titled "The Silent Warrior" to share the beauty of it with everybody here.
"There lives a great fighter named Joe
Who took his share of blows
They ranged from high to low
    He traveled around the globe
And walked the long road home
His pain no man could know.
There lives a great man named Joe
Who was belittled by a loudmouth foe
While rival would taunt and tease,
    Joe silently bore the stings
And fought like a gladiator in the ring.
Long after the final bout ended
    After the last bell rang
    News reached Joe’s old opponent
    ,
Of the pain his family had suffered
The blows weren’t intended to hit home
But his family still remembers the anguish
    Their hurt had never ended
Now Ali could feel Joe’s pain
And Ali’s sorrow could not be relieved
For every struggle that Joe survived
For every dispute he endured, to rise.
Joe will go down in history
As a model for champions to come
Joe Frazier was a silent warrior
    whom Ali silently admired.
One could not rise without the
    other."

This is basic manners for a sportsman... You don't go around and provoke other players using bad words.
So what if Muhammad Ali won the results? Basic manners also don't have,
      Talking rubbish when fighting,
So that opponents get agitated and behave out of stable mood,
Then he took the unfair advantage in mentally abusing opponents
probably a primary school child will have more manners, and talks more friendly than him

Joe Frazier was as tough as they get, yet he was a very sensitive man. The things that Ali said about him really cut him deep and its a pain he carried for most if not all of his life. But still there was an affection for Ali as a result of their fights and what those fights meant to both of them, and his sadness for Ali and his battle with Parkinsons was sincere. I was a teacher and football coach and Joe loved that. Joe Frazier is one of the most hidden American treasurers of all time. This was a great champion and a better person. I really believe there is a place in heaven for Joe. What a gift he gave me in a short 15 minute conversation. He looked me in the eyes and really did care about me and what I was doing with my life. Michael Trumph Foreman, Fraiser, Tyson, Lewis, Hollyfield, Calazaghe, Sugar Ray Leonard... the list of great boxers who disagree with you is as long as it could ever possibly be expected to be. Wise up... he's the greatest there ever was, and ever will be for reasons that far outweigh his boxer skill and accomplishment. He was undoubtedly an unbelievable natural specimin, who trained his ass off, won the Olympics, became the youngest ever heavyweight champ by knocking out the unbeatable sonny liston... took on every single opponent asked of him in an era of truly great fighters, the first and only three time champion. All whilst shaping the American and world view on black issues, giving to charity, standing up for his religious and humanitarian beliefs and sacrificing everything he had worked for to do it... coming back from that and beating the unbeatable frasier in Africa, then Joe. He then spent the remainder of his life preparing for God and helping his fellow man... once entering into Iraq on a peacekeeping mission and meeting with Saddam Hussein to try and use his fame to convince Saddam to release 15 US hostages back to America with him... 2 weeks before American bombing started... and all this whilst he has unable to walk or talk without his medications for his debilitating illness. Name me one other boxer who did so much, for others and the world and I'll allow you to tell me he isn't the greatest... but first you're gunna have to put that crackpipe down. Ali lived as he died... as the greatest. There will never be another like him. The world would be a lesser place had he not lived.

I am 62 years of age at this writing and I am a scarred man due to the times I grew up in. I am a child of the 1960's and I BELIEVE that was a time that will not be seen again ......ever! Television grew up and reached its true potential during that time because there were serious changes happening in that decade, with the Viet Nam war,the Black Panthers,F.B.I, C.I.A, the Hippies, etc, and then there was ...........ALI! He set the bar so high for athletes that anyone who didnt take a political stance for the betterment of the small man was considered a sellout or selfish. This is why I have no respect for Micheal Jordan who during the issue's that took place in L.A ,he said nothing! This all happened because of Ali, man I remember how He , ALI used to walk down the street in New Haven Ct. with no bodyguards or thugs laughing and talking with his "people"! He let you know and said it ,that WE were what mattered to him! He would pick up the poorest looking kid in the crowd and hug and kiss them and ask them what they thought about this or that, MAN! ...I WAS THERE,I SAW IT! and that kid became a celeb from then on! He would stop while a dude was fixing his car and help him with his tools all the time joking and buying soda's for the crowd, WE were all high on the love that MAN gave to us all, and He walked down Dixwell Ave with a large crowd following him all the while. This went on for about 2 hours and then he would walk to his car and He and his driver would ride to New York. I remember my aunt Trini saw this cop she didnt like and she called him out and called him a bunch of "mutha fucka's" and ALI laughed and said "Wow! You badder than me"! and all had a good laugh about that! Now everybodies gone and so are those times.Anyone who considers themselves a celeb has no time for everyday people.People like michael jordan who could've made a difference and helped some people and saved some lives have no sincerity in their hearts to do anything that doesnt bring money. When you reach a certain level of celebrity you control a certain spotlight and people take heed to your opinions and mindset,it seems to come with the territory and he said ....nothing! So I now realize that I came up during a special decade where people did not stand idle which is why things are better for those who enjoy that celebrity that they take for granted which is why it is beginning to erode from a place you cannot see.....the heart, but I guess they shouldnt be concerned being that is a part that you dont have.

Ali at one point was the most famous, most recognizable figure in the world. He was not perfect-he was human-but he always tried to use his celebrity to make the world a better place. He worked tirelessly to promote love and peace. He did not care about money. Most people don’t realize that after retirement he nearly went broke, before his wife and friends put his financial affairs in order. He will always be my hero.

There was a time when Joe Frazier and Muhammed Ali were going to New York for a meeting at Madison Square Garden. Joe Frazier had a limo service and since he was headed to New York, he gave Ali a ride from his home in New Jersey to New York. As they approached the Garden Ali asked the driver to pull over and he'd walk the remaining two blocks to the garden. The driver pulled to the curb and Ali got out and began his walk for the two blocks towards the Garden. Joe proceeded on in his limo. After several minutes there was a crowd of people walking down the street towards the Garden. In the front was Ali shouting ALI,ALI, ALI with the crowd chanting the same thing. As Joe looked outside down the steps coming up to the Garden, he saw Ali and the crowd chanting as they came up the steps towards the main entry to the Garden. Joe looked out and laughed out and said, "can you believe this scambooger. I brought him to New York from his house in New Jersey and now he's bringing a crowd in and yelling at me. Joe raised his fist in the air and shouted, JOE FRAZIER!!!!" Khalila Ali-Comacho said at Joe Frazier's funeral, "I'm a Frazier cause when Ali didn't have any money coming in for the family, Joe made sure that we had money. He sent it to us".

Khalila Ali-Comacho said at Joe Frazier's funeral, "I'm a Frazier cause when Ali didn't have any money coming in for the family, Joe made sure that we had money. He sent it to us".

Two classy fighters with a BIG heart! Deeply touched by the love they have for each other. Wish people with such a beautiful heart could be cloned before the big jump!!!!

I'm glad to see Frazier humble at this point in his life, because at other times he laughed at Ali's condition and blamed it on karma

At that time he had a lot of bitterness over how Ali treated him. Sometimes you say hurtful things when you're hurting inside. But then you regret it.

This film clip emanated from the documentary "Facing Ali" and this sequence is my favorite, because George Foreman gives the best take on what Frazier's bitterness about Ali's "mistreatment" of him was really about. As George puts it, "I have 10 kids and there's always one child who can take a joke, and there's one who can't." The truth of the matter is that Ali ridiculed most of his opponents, and Joe was just the norm. Hell, Foreman probably took just as much than Joe, because Ali called him "illiterate," said he was "ugly," and when George waved a U.S. flag at the 1968 Olympics, Ali called him an "Uncle Tom" for doing it.
Similar to Mike Tyson, Joe was arguably the toughest brawler of his era, but the irony was that he -- like Iron Mike -- was extremely sensitive. But the thing he could never realize was that had it not been for Ali's shenanigans, even if it was at Joe's expense, Frazier would have never made the riches off the fight game that he did. But both were indeed great champions who together did more for the sport than any other fighters in history. RIP.

@@nahyeahwhatsahandle Idiot ...the point is that both Tyson and Frazier were arguably the toughest boxers of their respective eras but the irony was that they both were emotionally sensitive men. Tyson was also said to be one who couldn't take teasing. Frazier even admits it here in this video.
