Imagine back in the 90s, the echoing sounds of drums and chords against walls of an underground rave. Hundreds of light sticks pounding to the beat while, others twirl in rhythmic circles; reds, blues and greens! A whistle added here and there. Hugs from friends and strangers as you dance! That was the 90s.
This song came to us in Orlando in 94-95 and let me tell you to this day at 34yrs old i will break my back throwing down to this track. it brought all of the real dancers together in Orlando and when the circle opened....OMG i was dead center...HAHA HA HA HA WHEW!
Dude. Thank you! Thank You! THANK YOU! My nephew sent me a suggested group to join on Facebook for old-school ravers who partied in SF back in the day. People have been posting links for wonderful jams from back then. Hearing this jam (after many, Many years being absent from my ears) made my heart happy! Many thank yous for sharing!
I thought this was as "florida breaks" as it could get. San Fran crew threw the fuck down so it seems... One of the best memories ever with this track at a house party: Sarasota county, '99, Tons of friends, Loud ass breaks, Best beans... The train sample with the crickets or whatever... This whole thing is just priceless!
What a list. I thought I would never find this stuff again. I lost my tapes years ago... Thanks a lot. Brings back some of the best memories of my life.
I love coming on to the comments section to read all the memories of the people who had the luxury of being in clubs when this music was in its genus. I was born in 1993 and unfortunately missed what some people once took for frieken granted - timeless music
58 yo - Timeless tune...still pumping hard. Kind of glad music sucks these days because it draws a "hard distinctive line" between "it" and "that" -- Now and Then
As I've collected vinyl over the years, my wish list was heavily influenced by his sets. BTW check my channel...many dope break tracks. I'm about to add more, too...
this reminds me of a Dj Icey Set at a Festival I cannot spell in the middle of Florida... pronounced 'You-SHWAY-Uh' Circa 96-98 - if you know the correct spelling, please share :) I had too much fun to recall :)
FUKKIN SOOO SIC!!! Ahhh, Memories. Thank You mofi500.... thank you for the upload. AND ESPECIALLY, THANK YOU mofi500 for NOT SAYING YOUR NAME 4 or 5 times DURING THE COURSE OF THE SONG.... like the bitches & liars at aki breakbeat AND feel the breaks, who literally fuck up EVERY one of the songs they upload by saying their name 4 or 5 times. So Again Sir, I say thank you. You Are Appreciated!!!
It could use a little mo bass, but I reckon the tempo is perfect at the one it's recorded (and being played) at. If this is from vinyl, increasing the tempo will change the key of the tune too, so it's best to post them with zero pitch to youtube.
Half this tune tune robs an even greater oldskool track made in manchester called 2 fat guitars by direct...search for the mixes of 2 fat guitars..youll know...
If I could go back and redo the 90’s, I’d do it again only with WAY more drugs. I did plenty and a few nights I thought this is it, I’m gonna die lol. Nope. 30 years later and a lot less brain cells I’m still here.
Its 2022 and im going to see my buddy Jim Hopkins play tomorrow in SF and im so excited!!
Who’s here still loving this in 2024?

And then you get back to the parking lot and find your window was smashed and your stereo is missing. :(
I don’t have to imagine. I was one of the people you describe 😊
@@scottsolomon5932 So you were at Global Gathering '96 as well then? LOL.
@@scottsolomon5932 That's definitely happened but it was a small price to pay.
I remember, it was the best time of my life.

You are now almost 50, we are about in the same age category and I am still in love with this song. So much memories. Cheers my friend!
O-town is the very best place to listen to breaks in. ❤

This tune takes me back. The 90s truly was a magical time for the scene. We lived it!
Pure Magic. So Special.
Yes we did indeed.

Only 10 years ago...

Takes me back to FunkyTeknoTribe, DJ Dan and the 90's Oakland San Francisco scene
What a list. I thought I would never find this stuff again. I lost my tapes years ago... Thanks a lot. Brings back some of the best memories of my life.
Crazy how Hopkins and Dan had this sick ass Acid Electro breaks sound when they worked together in contrast to their solo sound.

Takes me back to hunting for records at Solid Grooves and the mid-90's rave scene in the SF Bay area. Classic track!
underground breaks are still alive and well!!
Undergound and old skool will never die In me and my soul its forever alive in my heart
They would bounce around sound from speaker to speaker. It sounded like it was actually moving!
Played at 33rpm this makes a wicked trip hop tune that mixed perfectly with mo’wax style records back in the day
been to hella raves in the bay with this playin on blast 💥 dope ass times 😃
This track was the fucking jam back in the 90s! The clubs went ballistic whenever a DJ worked it into a set. Thanks for posting this.
Does anyone remember when Dan played two records together and this breakdown sounded like forever. Funky techno tribe Santa Cruz
It was on some software called Mixman. There were a few versions of it, one of them was a delicious P-Funk disc...
