Atskuri is a Georgian feudal fortress on the right bank of the Kura River, about 30 kilometers from Borjomi, in the Samtskhe-Javakheti region.
Built in the 9th century, the Atskuri Fortress was an important stronghold for the defense of Georgia in the Middle Ages.Located on top of a high cliff, the fortress covers a vast area and consists of several parts, with a citadel at the highest point. On the territory of the fortress, the ruins of a church with the remains of frescoes have also been preserved. A water tunnel connects the fortress with the river.
Ацкури - грузинская феодальная крепость на правом берегу реки Куры, примерно в 30 километрах от Боржоми, в регионе Самцхе-Джавахети.
Построенная в 9 веке, крепость Ацкури была важным опорным пунктом для обороны Грузии в средние века. Расположена на вершине высокой скалы, крепость занимает обширную площадь и состоит из нескольких частей, с цитаделью на самой высокой точке. На территории крепости также сохранились руины церкви с остатками фресок. Водопроводный тоннель соединяет крепость с рекой.
