I think it would be my cyclo cross bike that I would take on that terrain. Made for it. A mountain bike is way too heavy and you can't throw it over your shoulder when you 'walk' climb up hills. Thinking of doing it myself and sending the wife forward in the campervan to camp sites.

I knew a struggle was ahead when you didn’t ride up or all the way down conic hill 😂

Thanks for the comment, you're going to be glad you asked - we had heard how bad that section was so we skipped it entirely, at the beginning of our second day we got the ferry from Inversnaid over the loch to Tarbet and road the A82 up to Beinglas farm and picked the way up there. It took us three hours to do seven miles of hike a bike before Inversnaid and I shudder to think what it would be like carrying an ebike. Good luck!

There are hikers who avoid that section.

Would also like to comment on this, I've done the full route twice, it's really not worth it for mtb the section that wraps around loch lomond, can't even imagine how it would be possible with the weight of an ebike, what i would recommend however is what my friends and i do a few times a year now, is Tyndrum to fort william, can do the full route in a day

@@MTBRoyalewish I'd read this earlier, I took a bike to Ardleish from Inversnaid this morning and covered 6 miles in 4 hours, its totally un-bikeable and I don't think I cycled for more than 10 minutes
