      I'm LOVING HCD, just finished up a coating topper test and it's performing incredibly and really did a great job in reviving some tired coatings. Stuff smells absolutely fantastic as well, this could be my favorite of the new consumer ceramic products I've tested so far. Crazy hydrophobic but not too heavy, first impressions is this is a perfect coating topper. Should have a video out soon.

    • @soapa4279
      @soapa4279 5 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      @@WaxMode That's awesome! I feel the same way IMO, it's strangely addicting. The smell, and the way it applies on the paint. It's slightly heavier than the other quik detailers. And yes the beading results are crazy, I ended up buying another bottle.

    • @c6z061
      @c6z061 5 ปีที่แล้ว

      @WaxMode are you referring to application by "not too heavy" ?

    • @WaxMode
      @WaxMode  5 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      @@c6z061 - Yes application is one factor, it takes a lot more to get a cleaner wipedown with heavier sprays, Seal N Shine is a great example of a heavy spray sealant. If I try topping CQUK with Seal N Shine, its heaviness overcomes CQUK's hydrophobicity and you'll lose some of that strong beading and fast sheeting. As opposed to a lighter spray topper like Bead Maker, it doesn't mask CQUK's hydrophobics at all after application (in my tests), and has some ability to repair or even boost the surface like it did with CQuartz in my tests.
      HCD has an even better ability to repair the weathered coatings compared to Bead Maker, while being a lighter topper that isn't going to mask great hydrophobics like Seal N Shine.

    The OG of comparisons! like button smashed...again. Looking forward to more. Question Where did Meg's 210 come from? how much better than 205?

    • @kenlawton1531
      @kenlawton1531 5 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      Megs 210 and 110 are advancments of 105 and 205, were released quite a while ago now. They offer longer working times, less dusting.

    • @WaxMode
      @WaxMode  5 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      Thanks Buckeye! Ken is spot on, M210 came out last season with M110, less dust and seems to have more lubrication compared to M205. But I don't have much time comparing them side by side yet, I've got to get my hands on a black test panel from the yard to do more effective head to head polish comparisons.

    Product results seems barely okay. Lithium products is no CarPro, Megs or Turtle Wax especially at their price point. I would pick Collinite 845 over Seal and Squeal. I hope that one day you will do a test using Garry Dean products.

    • @Mr.SparkleOG
      @Mr.SparkleOG 5 ปีที่แล้ว +4

      I agree. In my opinion lithium products are way over priced for what they are. Collinite has never let me down and I too would also pick it over seal and squeal. What a name. Lol

    • @WaxMode
      @WaxMode  5 ปีที่แล้ว +3

      Thanks for the feedback runrun, it's definitely a tough market at that price point. I'm known to price splurge on a lot of paste waxes especially a lot of the Zymol range when cheaper products will get the job done. What's your favorite product out of Garry Dean's lineup?

    • @runrun411
      @runrun411 5 ปีที่แล้ว +4

      My Garry Dean favorites are IUDJ and Juice Boost but there are a few products in that line that should be reviewed vs some of the other popular brands. I’ve spent so much money on waxes and sealants like you have. Keep testing and thanks for your informative videos.

    If you don’t like a product, would you tell us?!

    • @WaxMode
      @WaxMode  5 ปีที่แล้ว +4

      Definitely, Topcoat F11 was one of those products that I had no issues saying that I wasn't a fan of it at all. Because reading the description of the product, you get the impression that it would perform with a certain level of insane hydrophobics and durability, and it falls completely flat on its face (and flat on the paint too!), not to mention the crazy price they're charging for it. There are more products though that are just average or mediocre that I've worked with that I'm indifferent of, where I can understand the argument of why some guys really like it, but maybe it's not giving me the features that I would like to see. Usually I purchase products for testing based on the vetting of the guys that I've placed my trust in, I haven't worked with many products that are outright terrible.
      If I'm sent products from companies that are terrible, it would most likely be a result of gross negligence in not meeting expectations as laid out in the description on the specific product. If I search and come across a whole bunch of shilling for that product, it's likely that I would release my testing footage as a resource to cut through the shilling. It opens yourself up for potential retaliation but I think my testing method is solid to confirm my results to my viewers.

      @@henryfreeman6113 - I met Pan at the Turtle Wax event, he really is a great guy and I hope we get to team up in the future for a collaboration of sorts when time allows. There's a lot of time and effort that goes into his videos, and the larger your reach (subscribers), the more valuable your time becomes spent selecting which products to test. If you want your channel to grow, you've got to develop the quality to build that subscriber base and then continue to produce videos that speak to your subscribers. It may be a different style than my videos, but I enjoy watching his channel and he's showcased a lot of products and lines that I think are fantastic performers.

    4:55 *cough* Beadmaker *cough* I mean, I don't know if it actually advertised being really hydrophobic in the print but c'mon, it's called beadmaker. If anything deserves to be called beadmaker, it's products like fusso, bsd and the likes.

    • @WaxMode
      @WaxMode  4 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      Definitely agree with you there! Bead Maker's strengths have pretty much nothing to do with it making beads. I don't understand why marketing teams want to set their products up for failure by tagging them with features that doesn't match what they do. Probably the reason why Bead Maker wasn't on anyone's radar until 2 years later.
      Sonax's failure to market Brilliant Shine Detailer effectively, beginning with how they named it, is probably the biggest offender to date.

    One is a sealant the other a wax. I bet if you stacked them accordingly, the results would be phenomenal. I would never just seal and not add a wax or topper of some sort.

    • @WaxMode
      @WaxMode  4 ปีที่แล้ว

      Usually I don't like to stack heavier waxes or sealants on top of each other, I like to keep it to a lighter spray maintenance topper instead, so that's why I decided to test both of these with Luster Lube on top in the video.

    Another great video as always. I really look forward to your review of the ETHOS Ceramic Wax PRO. I've heard that one (ETHOS) is a really good sealant along with their spray maintenance product called Ethos Dry and Seal. Not sure if you have the Ethos Dry and Seal as well, but if you could do a review of both of those together, that would be fantastic. I'm really thinking about getting the ETHOS Ceramic Wax Pro along with either their own Dry and Seal or the Xtreme Solutions Poly Seal to go with it as a drying aide and "topper/maintenance" to the Ceramic Wax Pro for both my wife's and my own daily drivers.

    Nice! Why not just apply luster lube every week?

    • @WaxMode
      @WaxMode  5 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      I'd definitely be doing Luster Lube after every wash, I'll have to run more individual testing with it to see how it holds up against some of the other spray protectants. I'm not sure about how protective it is by itself, I might reach out to Lithium to see what's the protective capabilities of just Luster Lube by itself, compared to the protective elements of what they've packed into Gloss Sauce that aren't based around hydrophobics.

    • @c6z061
      @c6z061 5 ปีที่แล้ว

      WaxMode seal and squeal has weak water behavior. If it does not add to the hydrophobicity or durability of luster lube, I see no point in S&S if luster is used weekly. I’ve never heard of a topper that relies on the base coat. It’s the opposite.

    • @WaxMode
      @WaxMode  5 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      @@c6z061 - When I was performing the Strip Down test, I can tell that even though we've built up that strong hydrophobic element with Luster Lube, you can see that Strip Down ate through the Luster Lube topcoat but was not able to fully eat through Seal & Squeal underneath. What I'll likely do in the future is test the capabilities of Luster Lube by itself after a proper cure, but you can certainly have a situation like this test where the protection and durability of your base product can hold strong underneath your topper, even though the base doesn't quite give off the hydrophobics that I want to see by itself with no topper.
      Another interesting thing that I saw in this test as well, is if you look closely at the Luster Lube section that was topped on Gloss Sauce, that section was actually slightly more hydrophobic than the Luster Lube topped on S&S. It's as if the S&S was slightly trying to block the Luster Lube from bonding perfectly. Further testing off camera I saw multiple applications of Luster Lube did build the hydrophobics to equalize between our different bases.
      I'm still very much a proponent of the two system approach, base layer sealant/coating and spray protectant topper for maintenance. My recent test with Adam's Spray Coating and IGL Premier, both heavily degraded at 11 months without topping. A few weeks ago I topped those sections with Meguiar's Hybrid Ceramic Detailer which is very hydrophobic by itself. After the wash today the Adam's section with HCD held up its hydrophobics MUCH better than the weathered IGL Premier section with HCD. So the condition and strength of your base coat can have a significant impact in the topper's ability to bond, repair, and maintain that hydrophobic performance that it leaves behind.
      I'll have this video coming out soon, not just with Adam's Spray Coating, but the Blackfire, CQuartz, CQUK, Gliss and EXO sections all had very positive reactions after being topped with HCD and they looked pretty tired prior to being topped.

    Price point is very hard to swallow. DPC SHINE/ARMOR is a sweet spot for me... TAC Moonlight + TAC Shinee would be a fun gloss meter reading as well for the $

    • @WaxMode
      @WaxMode  5 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      I definitely want to pick up Shinee especially after seeing Brian's video on it a while ago. Moonlight is the most recommended spray coating to try out at the moment, I've got to reach out to TAC System and see if they'd be willing to send me a care package to play around with some samples.

    Awesome video man! I still gotta try out the Lithium products. Is it just me, or am I seeing the Gloss Sauce topped with Luster lube has a slight edge of hydrophobics compared to the Seal An Squeal? After it lost as a stand alone. It's so cool to see how products pair when staying in the family of products.

    • @WaxMode
      @WaxMode  4 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      You're absolutely right, that Gloss Sauce + Luster Lube side had a slight edge, and it could be that the Seal and Squeal was slightly trying to prevent the Luster Lube from getting a clean bond on top. Another application was able to even the behavior out a bit between the two on additional tests that I did. Definitely reach out to Lithium and see if they'll let you test some products out, they just released their Ceramic Slam and Color Crush that I might need to get my hands on. And Trim Serum is a fantastic trim product, really does a great job in bringing some massively faded trim sections back to life.
