  • I am entering my fifth year of teaching, and over the years I have certainly learned a lot about how I organize my classroom! Although a lot has changed about my organization style, the one thing that remains constant is my love for Dollar Tree bins and organizers! Today's video focuses on some of my favorite Dollar Tree bins and organizers!

    Your hair looks so pretty. Like the wire bins to put potatoes or onions. Since it's wired it lets the potatoes and onion air out , so they won't spoil. The drawer organizers are great to put cosmetic brushes and combs.

    Thanks for the video! I am a first year teacher in a few months. This was helpful 🤩 I am an EC teacher. I work 1/2 day in a few different classrooms as an inclusion teacher and the other half day working 1-on-1 and with small groups for individualized instruction. Also planning space will have to be flexible for me and IEP, 504 meetings, etc. can literally be anywhere. I have no "home" space that is only mine and will have shared space and need to travel to various classrooms. Also there is some uncertainty on multiple aspects of my job 😅 I am generally highly organized, so this feels chaotic and I am trying to absorb ALL of the information I can for organization for teachers on the move! Thanks again!!

    I had to give up teaching due to severe Crohn's, with multiple surgeries, immune system just too weak and compromised. Been flaring since 2013. But I love using ideas from fellow teachers to help with organizing my living space. I love using bins to organize my durable medical equipment, homecare center (when I need a homecare nurse), fridge, home and crafting stuff. My nurses have in the past, gotten hooked on DT bins to organize their cars and bags to travel to their various patients. They tell me that they hate when I need them, but they love learning from me. Those lock tops work well for holding and organize woundcare, shot supplies, ostomy care, meds and first aid items. Great for travel with in travel cubes or bags with labels. Also works well for hospital stays because we have to supply our own ostomy care items while there.

    The green bin with the handle, I bought those for our fridge. I have one with medications in, it sits in the very top of the fridge.
    But right at eye level I put one and we use it for "needs using" foods.
    So if I see a stray yoghurt that it close to use by date. Or the cheese that is already open. We got so annoyed every month at the wasted foods that got shoved back until they were forgotten. So that open cheese is back there and looks scary, the tomatoes back there are too far gone etc.
    So now to plan a meal or shop I check that basket as priority, and my husband knows if he wants a yogurt he looks in there first.
    It's been working out so well that we threw NOTHING away from the fridge last month.
    We were so happy, not just because of money, but the actual act of throwing away something that people are dying because they have too little.
    My husband usually laughs at my bin obsession... I'm educating him 😜

    What kind of Dollar Tree sorcery do you have? ⚡️I have never seen those white drawer organizers in any color other than white. My stores only carry two sizes of the organizers. Seven? Seven! 😱

    Can I ask do schools provide school supplies in the states like they do in the a UK? That's not to say teacher's don't buy stuff for their classrooms cos they definitely do but schools supply quite a lot of the everyday supplies

    • @enigmavariations7038
      @enigmavariations7038 7 ปีที่แล้ว

      Nancy Russell Thank you so much for letting me know that. I did wonder if that is the case. In the UK, at least at the primary level (around 5 to 11 yrs (12 in Scotland)) school's will generally furnish clasrooms with the everyday stuff that teachers require to support the curriculum (anything from scissors to display paraphernalia, furniture, text books and beyond). Teachers generally don't supply these items for their class. Although teachers often purchase books, games and a host of other sundry items to support children's learning they could, in fact, still adequately teach the curriculum without buying anything extra. In the UK schools are funded by the local education authority (that means they are, unsurprisingly, ultimately paid for by the tax payer). I guess this means neither parents or teachers need to purchase too many things. Mind you in the UK almost every primary school has a compulsory uniform which parents do have to purchase for their child. Differences between countries really interests me.

      Nancy Russell I would say that's quite different. I think teachers would go on strike here if it was suggested to them they buy the stuff you guys need to buy!!!!

    I am an ESL teacher in Brazil! Not at a regular school, but at a school that teaches English and Spanish to people. But please explain to me, why are you an ESL teacher in the US? So, your students are not american? I'd love to know the answer! I just found your channel and I am loving it! I love DT tips, because when I travel to the US, I always bring a bunch of stuff! Haha

      Lorena Saad some students are immigrants, some are from immigrant families where little to no English is spoken in the home. Mainly they are those students where English is their second language.
