I'm actually glad to see that the game puts you in control of the character who should have rightfully been the protagonist to begin with. Tom was usually just trying to defend his owner's home/food from the invading presence of Jerry but tends to get a bad reputation because Jerry's "cute." ;)

That person's house is enormous. I loved this game as a kid, played it all the time. Had no idea how to beat that dog and would usually just get lucky.

I remember owning this game on my Game Gear, this takes me back. I believe you can end a level early if you actually manage to catch Jerry mid-level, but it's REALLY hard to do so.

You are correct; the trick is to try and keep a constant rate of movement throughout the level without stopping to reposition or find a new place to progress. A lot easier said than done, but it is possible.

This game has nothing to do with the 1992 movie despite featuring the fat dog from the movie on the cover art. The Genesis game, Frantic Antics, was more based on the movie, as it had characters from the movie and stages based on the movie's scenes. So why wasn't this game called Frantic Antics and the Genesis game called The Movie?

Is it just me, or does the Sega Game gear get a bad rep or is heavily overlooked.... I don't usually see any titles at my local antique/used items store or any handheld devices ?! I used to play portable handheld titles but now I mostly experience/play dedicated home console titles. 🤷🏼‍♂️🤦‍♂️😳💪

played this when I was soooooo little. Think I got to snake but never beat it. The game gear sucked down batteries like nothing else and I never did see the ending. I didn't play games to completion yet. Pretty cool payoff at the end for its time and place.
