I remember watching this live. I’ve never seen my dad cry before or since, but the fear of God hit him hard that day knowing how close to death Super Dave was. Evel Kinevel never sustained such life threatening injuries. It’s amazing how fas Super Dave recovered, a true blessing of modern science.

Plus they have a well trained medical staff and gobs of insurance. Remember,Super Dave trained probably upwards of minutes for this first stunt and the odds of catastrophic failure were astronomical for Mat and Trey. Dave had his whole career ahead of him and he ended up dying.....at the end of it after giving us so much and risk almost nothing but making us laugh.RIP Super Dave. Only corkscrew loops had debuted a year before it, on a coaster currently at Silverwood in Idaho. Also loved all of Bob’s great skits- he played the character so seriously even on late night Letterman appearances. We miss you Super Dave. ❤
There was a film in the 60's about nuns (that my aunt worked on) called "Where Angels Go Trouble Follows" and there's a scene where the nuns ride on a Rollercoaster... I have a feeling that that was why there some in that scene.

his stunt suits were, my dad used to supply him with it. from 88-89, it actually came from alberta, as saskatchewan was out of resources.
