I think everybody who supposedly prefers the others versions of these songs simply feel the need to take up for Kai. Look, Kai would agree with the detractors - he is who wanted to hire a singer! This track in particular is tight as f***. This could have been a commercial hit. It's fast and it rocks. Kiske nailed it to. He made a good thrash song into a melodic fast song that would have killed on the radio.
I love this song so fucking much, I'm a huge Michael fan. I love keeper or the seven keys part 1 and 2, and I'm so happy to own this amazing track. It makes me think of the band member they sadly lost. Along with other great musicians who needed drugs, to feel alive. Who's wings burned out and fell, to fucking soon huh such a shame.
@TreacherousScumbag LOL !! i bought this Ep along with I can and power some years ago, it cost me a shit load of money but id do it all over again, helloween is a kick ass band and this version of starlight breaks beyond the word AWESOME !!!!
I actually prefer Kiske's voice on the Walls of Jericho songs that Weikath wrote/co-wrote. While it's true that Kiske had difficulties with the songs Kai wrote by himself (Ride The Sky, Phantoms of Death, Gorgar etc) he certainly did a better job at the songs that Weikath had his hands on. Kai's songs were too rough and powerful for Kiske, who didn't possess the gruff require to sing those songs. Weikath's songs though, were much more melodic and emotional, and that suited Kiske's much higher and clearer voice better. Take songs like Guardians, Cry For Freedom, Starlight, and the masterful How Many Tears, which gets to another level with Kiske on vocals 🙏 He also does a great job on Victim Of Fate, in my opinion ✨
nice to see someone that thinks clearly and not passionately about Kiske. Totally agree that Kai was able to do things over kiske's voice and vice versa
Michael Holmgaard OK, agree. We just cannot forget, this song was written for Kai Hansen's voice… a very different kind and style than Kiske's. We just need to hear all that song of the Keepers, though for Kiske ;)
Nice.... this is totally true... It is bad and good that Hansen left helloween back in 1988... the good, the creation of one of the best Power Metal bands... "Gamma Ray" and the bad... those 2 last albums Kiske made... they were not BAD but they were not helloween... anyway, I still love Kiske... He is the best!
You're hanging around and got nuthin' to do You wanna get out some pills in front of you You fly on invisivble wings Be careful my friend for too many can kill You say that the meaning of life's in those pills You forget all earthly things You swallow your pill you wanna feel free A trip to a world made of games You do it again yet it's never the same But a junkie's not somethin' to be [Chorus:] Starlight! Fallin' in deep thru your eyes! Starlight! Shinin' down for your soul to arise! Now there's a needle lying in front of you I'm frightened of those things But I'll know what you'll do You need it to escape from the night, ha ha You ride on thru heaven you don't feel no pain You ride on and ride on again and again On the needle that brings you the light You feel the mind-blowin' stuff Flow thru your veins You take off and fly to the sun But when you get too near your wings will be burnt You'll die in the flames and you'll fall
Ps I have noticed people crying about Michael, look the other guy is awesome I have so much respect for him. Put Michael is so much better. The guy is outstanding, there's just so much feeling and emotion in his voice. They knew what kind of music they wanted, and they go someone different who did a much better job. Plus didn't the original singer after a few albums, leave to do that band gamma ray is that the correct name..
@VanishingWish Kai founded the band, created power metal, writted the best songs and the 3 best helloween albums. Kiske was the voice of god. deris is only a falsetto clown.
I think this actually the pre-Remix version of the song and not the Remix that was including on Treasure Chest and the Keepers I Remaster. Thanks I always wanted to listen to what was different but it wasn't included in those so it was hard to.
The single's artwork is really cool! SAVAGE PUMPKIN dressed in a JUDGE DREDD uniform! I have to say that I slightly prefer Kai's version of this song to Michael's BUT it's by a very slim margin!
Kai Hansen, Michael Kiske, and Andy Deris. They are all great to be Helloween's vocalist, in their different style. But overall, I think Helloween's best shall be under Deris' style.
It’s a great version I just feel like in someways maybe they should’ve done ride the sky that would’ve shown Kiske vocal abilities head on, You can tell in someways Kiske doesn’t really know how to approach some of the lines vocally but he sounds great, Victim of Fate just fit so well, looking back 30 years after the fact they really should’ve recorded more Jericho songs with Kiske
@ikkaku01 That's absolutely true! Kai is god and the father of Power Metal, Kiske is the best singer and an excellent singer/artist :) I love Kiske but Kai is just god, nobody can say he is not!
Michael Kiske is on of the exceptions who is able to sing Hansen´s immortal songs as well as they were composed. Walls of Jericho with Kiske as a singer would sound much better, more melodic and much more various.
@Danulinda1 I'm fine, thanx. Bad enough, Kiske even joined the band, I'm glad, he didn't when recording first albums. Kiske is a POP SINGER . POP, not even rock. POP. and he is a greenie.
@Horderer You are probably completely deaf since Kiske´s singing is one of the best in the whole world, especially when Hansen composed those songs. Only Kiske can show their full quality, not average singer (but great composer) Hansen itself or (below average) Deris.
@GloryDEVILS91 But you probably get better (more interesting) reactions if you sing like Kai in public. (As long as you can do that singing voice/ style.
i love all kiske versions of the walls of jericho era that helloween re-recorded with him such a monster
The original always does it more for me. Helloween at their rawest are brilliant.
I love Kiske voice but in this is Kai's voice legendary and perfect.
but both versions is legendary
@@karlosmetalofficial No!!!
Only Kay!!!
i like both versions, with kai and kiske. hearing this is like hearing a really awesome cover verison. theyre that different.
Kiske is the voice of power metal
kiske is the power metal
Hail kiske
Kai Hansen!!!!
Michael Kiske
Kai Hansen!!!! (2)
Michael Kiske (2)
Kai Hansen!!!! (3)
Michael kiske (3)
Arregaço da Porra .... 🤘kiske apavora ... Grande Vocalista
I think everybody who supposedly prefers the others versions of these songs simply feel the need to take up for Kai. Look, Kai would agree with the detractors - he is who wanted to hire a singer! 60BloodyChamp60 you're absolutely right...
Maiden Hierro Habrá alguien llamada Maiden en realidad ?
60BloodyChamp60 Maybe you're right . But I think is a mistake to compare it . I hear two different songs and both are great .
Heartrending is the word for Kai's version , Kiske ' s version is technically better and more beautiful .
Rosamel Fierro 🙋🏽♀️
I love this song so fucking much, I'm a huge Michael fan. I love keeper or the seven keys part 1 and 2, and I'm so happy to own this amazing track. It makes me think of the band member they sadly lost. Along with other great musicians who needed drugs, to feel alive. Who's wings burned out and fell, to fucking soon huh such a shame.
I think Kiske sings this song perfectly. The kai version is also missing that power metal scream in the intro.
He sang? Actually it is HE SINGS, he is still alive and is singing absolutely great!
well, Kiske been 30 years off the band mate, luckily he changed his mind, better late than never
do really hope kai/ kiske/ helloween would do a tour once in future. i am flying to see this shit
NO PLEASE !!
There can only be one on this song...Hansen !!
Patricia souza borges That's just like your opinion man. :|
Micke Eriksson thats your opinion.
this song was good before on walls of Jericho, now its perfect.
@TreacherousScumbag LOL !!
i bought this Ep along with I can and power some years ago, it cost me a shit load of money but id do it all over again, helloween is a kick ass band and this version of starlight breaks beyond the word AWESOME !!!!
That's great playing.
Voz do caralho canta muito !!! love kiske
I like Hansen's version, but I think this is cool too. It's Kiske's version! :)
I simply love this version ; )
Both versions are great! How ever I prefer kais version, just like raw energy more than tuned.
We all love Kiske
2020 !!!!
Congratulations for the rare song!
Kai is good
Kiske is God
Uhhh, reverse, but OK :)
Thank you again!
I actually prefer Kiske's voice on the Walls of Jericho songs that Weikath wrote/co-wrote. michael kiske rules he's always the best
Really good, slayer fan, you have said it! Maybe it does not mean something serious like the other thing lol
I prefer this one...
You're hanging around and got nuthin' to do
You wanna get out some pills in front of you
You fly on invisivble wings
Be careful my friend for too many can kill
You say that the meaning of life's in those pills
You forget all earthly things
You swallow your pill you wanna feel free
A trip to a world made of games
You do it again yet it's never the same
But a junkie's not somethin' to be
[Chorus:] Starlight! Fallin' in deep thru your eyes!
Starlight! Shinin' down for your soul to arise!
Now there's a needle lying in front of you
I'm frightened of those things
But I'll know what you'll do
You need it to escape from the night, ha ha
You ride on thru heaven you don't feel no pain
You ride on and ride on again and again
On the needle that brings you the light
You feel the mind-blowin' stuff
Flow thru your veins
You take off and fly to the sun
But when you get too near your wings will be burnt
You'll die in the flames and you'll fall
Kai rulezzz in this song..!!!
heck yeah
From Iruña(pamplona) siempre kalavaza kalavazakorporation,gracias,está millaesker.goyokogollo&mertxe
kiske and kai duet is cool
How come people prefer Hansen's version?. This is a masterpiece
Purists. Just like people who prefer Ozzy over Dio or Di'Anno over Bruce. Even though there is no doubt about which singers are better.
honestly, it is like a new song! :P
Awesome
Better, what i like this!
Helloween is the LAW!
mondiale!!!
Ps I have noticed people crying about Michael, look the other guy is awesome I have so much respect for him. Put Michael is so much better. Nice!
You don't feel no pain, does that mean you do feel some pain?
@Horderer It's power metal. It's supposed to be uplifting like the lyrics are.
That scream at the beginning....god damn
I like this version. The other version, though, is really good, too.
better played than original but it lacked balls that original has
I like of the Kai's version, but Kiske is one!
Kiske is the best !!
kiske forever man yeahhhhhh
good!
@VanishingWish Kai founded the band, created power metal, writted the best songs and the 3 best helloween albums. Kiske was the voice of god. deris is only a falsetto clown.

this song is so fucking awesome
I disagree, i absolutely love this version of the song.
The single's artwork is really cool! SAVAGE PUMPKIN dressed in a JUDGE DREDD uniform! I have to say that I slightly prefer Kai's version of this song to Michael's BUT it's by a very slim margin!
Thumbs up :P
@theZodiacDigital it really is. I love both versions...but I think Kai's vocals fit the song a little bit better
AHAAAA!!!!
The original "Starlight" was actually in "Helloween" (the EP) and not in their first album.
Kiske's voice is MUCH better. Undeniable.
Cristopher De La Cruz the voice is maybe better... But I prefer the original one
Wolfgang Schmidt i prefer this, album would better!
STAAAAAAAAAAAAAARLIGHT!
Kai Hansen, Michael Kiske, and Andy Deris. They are all great to be Helloween's vocalist, in their different style. But overall, I think Helloween's best shall be under Deris' style.
THIS version kicks major ASS !!
I miss Helloween with Kai and Kiske.
magic from KISKE
It’s a great version I just feel like in someways maybe they should’ve done ride the sky that would’ve shown Kiske vocal abilities head on, You can tell in someways Kiske doesn’t really know how to approach some of the lines vocally but he sounds great, Victim of Fate just fit so well, looking back 30 years after the fact they really should’ve recorded more Jericho songs with Kiske
I like the Judge Dredd reference in the artwork
thx
K I S K E
Kiske sounds more tuned, but without emotion at all.
kikse! :)
some how hw adds more power to the song, though i also like hansen's version.. :)
@ikkaku01
That's absolutely true! Kai is god and the father of Power Metal, Kiske is the best singer and an excellent singer/artist :) I love Kiske but Kai is just god, nobody can say he is not!
i love the 0.30 to 0.50
Hmmm... No. Still prefering the original one ^^
Thanks for the comments!
hahaha ridicoulous is true, but he's great really
he was the brain of power cradle, the engine
kiske was the wheels
Kiske é foda, fico tão boa quanto a versão original.
if u want more kiske u have to listen to place vendome
Hell, I prefer Kai, I like his more grindier and rougher voice, but hell this is great!
Michael Kiske is on of the exceptions who is able to sing Hansen´s immortal songs as well as they were composed. Walls of Jericho with Kiske as a singer would sound much better, more melodic and much more various.
possibly coolest anti-drug song ever!
(Death was anti drugs, thats why i say possibly)
I love micheal but Kai voice on Walls Of Jericho rules
@Danulinda1 I'm fine, thanx. Bad enough, Kiske even joined the band, I'm glad, he didn't when recording first albums. Kiske is a POP SINGER . POP, not even rock. POP. and he is a greenie.

sin kiske no hay genialidad

@patsupfan
I think you mean Creeping Death, but yeah I see what you mean.
I like Kiske's version more than Kai's version, it has a clearer sound.
super cool, Kiske made it different but just as good as the originao
real power metal
@GloryDEVILS91 But you probably get better (more interesting) reactions if you sing like Kai in public. (As long as you can do that singing voice/ style.
you'll probably have to ask Kai about that...
perhaps it doesn't mean anything...just sounds nice
