    You just really helped me. My life changed almost 2 years ago. I have a disease called diverticulitis. I was in pain for a long time finally went to the emergency room ended up having surgery almost died now I have a colostomy bag. It has been hard. My life is so different now. Thank you for your kind words in your video and for people like us to be gentle to ourselves. Thank you!!

      Thanks so much for your kind comments Danica! I do know others with diverticulitis & they’ve told me how painful it can be - how deathly sick it can make you as well!
      I’m so thankful we were given a second chance with this surgery but it’s not always easy for sure. I can relate to that! I’m also reminding myself when I share & I’m always encouraged by knowing y’all are being helped simply by these videos. It’s a blessing to me to hear that - so thank you for blessing me! 💜

    I love it I had just thought today that I am going to make my own wraps with a pocket deep and only as wind as my pouch to take the weight off my belly. I too am eclectic and like different prints and they hang down on your pants like a long T-shirt under whatever you are wearing. SO now I to am on the hunt for clothes that I no longer wear and make some. Thank you

    All good ideas. I too recently started using the camisole tops, I cut the top and use the rest. Mostly when I wear a dress or skirt.

    I wear lularoe tights which have just the right amount of support, with a shirt pulled down over. They can be found cheaper on ebay. I even sleep in them.

      Oooooh they sound comfy!! I have heard that they were really good quality!
      I have worn cut off leggings to sleep (dollar store - and still soft!) but I will tend to pancake overnight so I usually stick to roomy shorts but my “go-to” daily wear? Still leggings & yoga pants! I GOTTA be comfy! 🤷🏻‍♀️😃
      Now, I have also borrowed (permanently 🤣) some of my hub’s long briefs and let me tell you - they are super comfy and roomy too! The ones they sell for women are so expensive and his work just fine - complete with an opening for the pouch emptying too 👍🏻😃.

      That’s great, Deb! There really are so many options if we are ok with trying new things! I just happen to love just being me and whatever fits my mood, that’s what I’ll wear 😎

      Hey Paul! Eric at “The Vegan Ostomy” is one of the most informative ostomates on the web. If you haven’t checked out any of his videos, I would highly recommend that.
      www.veganostomy.ca/
      I know he has wraps and belts, and my male friends can certainly learn a lot more from his experience and product reviews.
      Outside of that there’s always a standard that works for a female and male which would be going up a size in pants so there’s plenty of room in the waist as well as, if you don’t have to, wearing a longer shirt that does not require to be tucked in. My husband refers to these as “bowling shirts” 😎 and for many years, he tucked shirt in but once he found bowling shirts, the whole world opened up to him. He isn’t an ostomate but he just feels more comfortable wearing a shirt that was made to be untucked.
      Hope those ideas are helpful!

    I love the idea of using an inexpensive cami to repurpose into a wrap, but do wraps make pancaking worse? And thank you for the idea about the sundresses, I have seen them for years and never would have thought to use them.

      @TheKarahLife  2 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      They certainly can, Charmin, if they are too tight. That’s where its great an old cami comes in - that’s all stretched out so there’s plenty of room for my Stoma to do her thing.
      Of course if you are using a lubricant in your pouch that saturates the area closer to your stoma’s opening, at least the output should slide down and not get stuck. It’s not perfect but that’s one of the better solutions I found. I’m working on the “pancaking” video for this week and will talk about that too 😄.

      I could be wrong but I understood Natalie to mean “maternity wrap” (typo). 🙂
