If you know Final Fantasy 7 at all or Crisis Core the character Genesis was actually based off Gackt. IN FACT he did the voice for the original Japanese version of Genesis in Crisis Core. The costume in THIS clip he's wearing is the one from Dirge Of Cerberus from which he did the live action secret ending. If you also watch you'll notice another band member wearing the original Genesis costume as well.
If you need something else of his to check out, a lot of metalhead friends of mine and I enjoy his song “RETURNER ~闇の終焉~” (the conclusion of darkness) by Gackt. It is his only song (which is crazy to me) to hit number one on the Japanese ORICON singles chart when it came out.
Love your stuff man. Been subscribed for a few months and enjoy what you put out. I do have a 2 suggestions. Deviloof- Torture (heavy as hell) Dimlim- Rijin (Fairly soft but powerful song about the singers battle with dissociation ) Or Vanitas as it is a mix of heavy and clean.
Song is a throwback for us gaming nerds who grew up playing ff7 games. We're back in the golden era for us who grew up with it because there are remake trilogy and spinoffs that we're in the middle of them releasing, which are really just sequels with the og timeline being fucked with/altered by the main antagonist. The installment this song came out for is dirge of cerberus which was essentially the finality to the og timeline. If you dig og jrpgs then ff7 was the defining one of its generation. Thanks for the review of the song, it's one of those giga-nerd nostalgia tracks.
