    QUESTION: What is the difference between low porosity and high porosity?!

    • @jadenMekhi
      @jadenMekhi 4 ปีที่แล้ว +9

      Low porosity has a hard time getting moisture in and high porosity always moisture easily in

    • @OZASER
      @OZASER 4 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      low porosity means ur hair doesn't easily allow moisture to absorb and high porosity means it absorbs moisture quickly. love ur vids!!

    • @evrytingkriss
      @evrytingkriss 4 ปีที่แล้ว +5

      The difference is how the hair gets and retains moisture. Low porosity takes a while to absorb moisture and it takes longer to lose moisture as well. High porosity receives moisture pretty quickly but it also leaves just as quickly.

      Low porosity hair has a tightly bound cuticle layer, making it difficult for moisture to penetrate (but also difficult for moisture to escape, once it's in your hair.) On the other hand, high porosity hair has gaps and holes in the cuticle, allowing moisture to easily pass in and out.

      Low porosity has a hard time absorbing moisture but once it’s in it’s locked in because the cuticles are naturally closed High porosity absorbs moisture easily and loses it easily because the cuticles are naturally open

    Nahh staaahp yo Why did I watch about 20 of your videos in one row since discovering you last night??? You TRULY have one of the best natural hair channels, it’s ridiculous! And I have been natural for 12 years so I have seen a million videos and never thought I would come across a channel that would actually teach me something new! I live in Amsterdam, Holland so you’re international baby!! Blessings to you

    With low porosity the hair takes a long time to dry and the product takes longer to penetrate the hair strands. High porosity hair is able to soak in moisture really quickly and the hair dries faster.

    The difference between low and high porosity is tht low porosity cuticles are more closer in than normal, they don’t absorb product easily, and it is hard for moisture to go in and out. High porosity cuticles are more spread out/ open then usual, it is easy to get moisture in but also easy for it to come out!! Love you♥️

    With low porosity, the hair has trouble taking in water or moisture but when the cuticles are finally open moisture stays in. With high porosity, the hair has no problem getting in the cuticle, but moisture leaves just as fast. You must use a heavy oil or butter to seal in the moisture.

    Thanks for this video and the series.. 😊 😃 What do you think of blow drying after you leave in and then twisting with a moisturizing cream and sealing? I have super, super dense low porosity hair and I was thinking of using blow drying to stretch before twists instead of the African band method. Let me know your thoughts.

    My hair does not like me twisting it wet fr. It's a weird texture when it dries in the twists. I just stretch it first and then twist the next day and it pops. Lol I like how small you do yours. I like volume, so mine be big asl and then I get mad when they don't last the whole week lol

    Low porosity means the cuticles are closed so it’s hard to get moisture into the strands. High porosity means the cuticles are open so moisture goes in easily but it also goes out easily. It’s hard to keep the moisture in.

    apparently there is a spray bottle that keeps water warm for low porosity hair, so you don't have to apply your products in the shower. here is the video

    LP means the scales of the cuticle lay flat so moisture has a difficult time penetrating the hair shaft but also loses moisture less quickly. HP has slightly lifted curticles so moisture enters the hair easily but it so cannot retain the moisture.
