Interesting topic. Retired firefighter paramedic of 27 years. Long story short for firefighters for example FR rated clothing is highly recommended. At the very least NO POLYESTER!!!! Polyester is basically plastic and plastic...basically is "frozen" petroleum. It's more technical than that but... We wore FR for several years however switched to 100% cotton or blends with very little polyester. Five reasons...first off, the FR treatment over time degrades and is washed out. 2....compared to other fabrics its heavy and hot. 85 degree with 90% humidity and wearing thick dark navy blue!! 3rd....it is quite expensive and difficult to clothe a large group with several uniforms each. 4th...it requires special care to prolong its rating. Lastly and a minute point...it fades quick and needs ironing and soon you'll appear as if you are a homeless guy wearing a uniform. We switched and are quite happy. FR is great for occasional use. I'm kinda tacticool myself and I'd think SWAT teams, tactical units would benefit wearing nomex flight suits, nomex gloves and breathable nomex hoods under the helmet. Flashbangs, a perp who torches his path or stepping into a meth lab could cause some exposure to fire or products of combustion. Whew...babbling....time for a beer. Cheers
Can you guys make more reality check videos? Maybe test different scenarios or maybe try the same disarms again/with different people or styles. The knife vs gun I think was particularly interesting where people think conceal carry means automatic protection when it doesn't if you can't react properly or put in a compromising situation.
in reality ... my boyfriend who works in construction, as an electrician, screwed them up in 3 months but they are ok for me for walking the dog (samoyed) and playing with her friends :) they last a little longer than regular work clothes
Wool is excellent. Especially as a welder your threat is probably rather sparks and not high temp flash over. And for sparks wool definitely does the job.
When talking FR rating or no melt or drip the conversation has to be very transparent and based on fact. To find breathable material that is abrasion and cut resistant and also FR is a difficult feat
Hi Tim, thanks for the question. Last summer we just launched our Striker ULTs which are super lightweight combat pants designed for ultimate performance in hot and temperate climates. But if you are looking for the combat pants with the crotch vents Striker HTs might suit best to your needs 😎🤙
does guys need a eductive teacher. cuz real action and teaching real action its not he same i liked the video cuz of the in heart but dont bring people who dontsnt know how to express them self literallly corner to corner its the same as writing so logic and perception as like we all say the third party talk and dont know what u guys mean .
