John Lennon shot this same exact scene, minus the genius, with Ringo Starr, the only of his band who put up with this kind of shit and ergo outlived Paul McCartney.
I'd often wonder why Bedazzled (the one made in 2000 to be exact) was slammed the way it was. When I compare the dialogue there with this... now I understand
Yup. I happened upon this one a few years before the remake, so I was slightly keen to see if it would be as hilarious. I wound up groaning and huffing the whole way through. The remake is just something entirely different. Maybe it's enjoyable if you go in with no expectations or want to stare at Elizabeth Hurley's bum for an hour, but it did nothing for me.
I mean, the writing is better for sure, but the new version was meant as an extention and have had also good stuff writing. You can watch both and had a great time and still see the two as somewhat duology of experiences. The attacks were by pretentious people.
People take things way too seriously. I actually really like the remake it’s very funny particularly Brendan Frasers performance, the Colombian drug lord scene is brilliant.
@@bassnut57 I think it's Dudley Moore Trio, bc they wrote the whole soundtrack, I just wanted to know the name! And yes, it's a very nice tune, thank you 🙂
@@happyperson1851 I believe you have that exactly right but I have no proof. Maybe in some way Dudely missed his calling being distracted as an actor/comedian. I can imagine his feelings of conflict. He made it work in some ways. He was known as talented pianist in the industry. Wrong era maybe.
Both are legends but only one of them was a genius. Derek and Clive was great but, in a way, highlighted Moore’s inability to keep up with Cook at his best
Happy birthday to Peter Cook, wherever you are! 🎉
The height difference is just hilarious
Such great performances by both that the star turn by Barry Humphries hardly gets noticed but it’s brilliant.

Starr and McCartney are still both alive?
Ringo Starr went on to be in the Magic Christian as Peter Sellers' stooge

I still love both. That one is very different, but it still has an overall good comedic tone and a nice message. But you can't beat dry British humor.
It's one of those things like when you hear the writer of the Neverending Story hated the movie
You read the book and you realize his disappointment.

What's god really like? What color is he?
He's all colors of the rainbow
But he is English, right?
Oh yes, very upper class.
XD
Pure satirical comedic genius!!!!! A terrific film and terrific talents. RIP Pete 'n' Dud.
No matter how bad the devil is, at least he didn't litter with the wet paint sign
He made the park a bit homey with a lovely trash bin fire.
I love how Stanley's initially into it when the lady's groceries go through the sack.
Today I learned angels have the Charleston.
Yeah, I thought they didn't dance. Except Aziraphale, who only knows the gavotte.
I love Peter Cook way too much...
Absolutely love the way The Devil is mischievously impish rather than evil 🤣
Seems like a very one sided relationship for Devil and god
The devil is the father of lies. I doubt it went down like that.
Big Crowley energy.
"He is English, isn't he?. Yes, of course."❤️
Julie Andrews!
And now he's praising the devil...
Peter and Dudley were comedic geniuses at playing the Devil's advocate
Thanks for posting this
💥all in a days work😭😄
What's the song?
You mean the tune? It's a jazz swing. It's a nice one featuring piano. There are means of searching out who was playing it and if it has a title.

RIP Peter Cook and Dudley Moore

Satan can never be like God created being masquerading has God
He's exactly like god, fictional.
Good thing we invented God.
@@chuckharding6405 Yup
Great movie!
Still bloody funny after all this time!
